Dr. Pepper bottles, cigarettes, chew, bags of chips, and candy. Oh wait, don't forget the lottery tickets, and scratch offs, as well. For me, I generally only stop at joints like these to fill up my tank. I don't buy candy, lottery tickets, or other items of waste, unless it's beer, or wine. With this said, Hillbilly Hangout is a great store to stop in for a quick sixer, or bottle of vino. Seriously, who the hell would ever imagine that a gas station, in Flint, Texas, of all places, would have such an impressive selection of beer, and wine. It almost doubles as a second store. Easy access being located right on a major US HWY. it's open 24/7 and has plenty of fuel pumps. I've never had an instance where the pumps weren't working or questioned the cleanliness of their filters. This store is locally owned by a family that has deep roots in the town. Inside is always clean. There is a large selection of wines both locally sourced as well as large national suppliers. There's also a candy wall of assorted by the lb candy, an ice cream bar that serves blue bell ice cream, and other prepared lunches and snacks. There are also the usual snacks sodas and beer in the cooler. Attached to the convenience store is a Whataburger. This is a busy location and has had some growing pains but that is a separate review. The Whataburger and convenience store share a bathroom. I typically find that the bathroom could stand to have a little attention, but certainly not the worst in town. I actually drive a little out of my way to visit this location. I think it's worth it.
