Call the car has now stooped to an ultimate low. Yes, they still kept the AI call center worker. Yes, they still go against HIPAA where they demand to call the day prior to ensure you have prescriptions to pick up or an appointment. The newest low is using Uber and sending a prompt to EVERY SINGLE DRIVER to call you WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER. To those who don't use Uber or Lyft, it's standard for them to call or message you upon arrival. The difference? Rideshare apps give them a number to contact you that isn't yours but directs to you, and you them. Call the car violates user privacy directly on top of the above and risks safety. This is horrifying for people like me who rely on ride services through insurance when people can't drive us. read more

They always reject your trips. It's absolutely insane. If you have medical definitely switch to Molina insurance so you don't have to use this service. Molina medical rides won't reject your rides, especially a day in advance. Stay away from blue shield and call the car. They also think it's alright to call the offices where you have appointments thinking that'll be 100% accurate. Especially since most places can't release that kind of information. Just very unprofessional. You think they would want the most business as possible since that's how they make one's. read more

I am a heart patient who is running low on some medications and am completely out of others. I also have time sensitive forms my doctor needs to fill out. They are always late, recently no one even showed up for a double appointment day, missed my therapy, found a ride for 2nd appointment but, ended up being hurt in the drive that set my recovery back at least a month. Then they leave you for hours before being picked back up. When you do have pick up, drop off, pick up again for different appointments, I had to walk from one appointment to another and then back again, put me in bed for four days. They're a joke as a company!!! I feel sorry for anyone (including myself) that has no choice to use them. Need to go to surgery today but when I did checked when the car Will arrive, it showed 08/28/2025 @ 7....so please make a live person available for correcting the AI mistake..... I have been using call the car a lot because I am having so many doctor appointments. The drivers are always on Time. Their cars are always clean. All the drivers are very nice. 8 out of 10 drivers are excellent drivers. They take you to your destination. I do will call for my ride home and I do not have a very long wait for them to send a car to take me home. Scheduling is the only thing that is a little tricky. Sometimes I have to call if the ride will not be accepted on my cell phone app. When I call everyone is very helpful and are able to get me the ride I need. read more

Their drivers consistently show up late totally unprofessional never using their service again

I'm a LA Care member and they contract transportation services from Call The Car. So far I've had about 3 round trip rides with them, so 6 total trips. The first 4 trips were done by either Uber or Lyft drivers. So Call the Car contracted out those to a ride-sharing service. That did cause some quality issues because while the pick ups to the LA Care meeting went smoothly, the trip back was usually kind of a mess because everyone at the meeting needed rides back and trying to figure out who's uber/lyft driver was whose resulted in cancelled rides by the driver and took 20 to 30 minutes to sort out. This last round trip Call the Car used their own drivers and vehicles to perform the pickups and drop-offs. My driver Tony was very good. He was courteous and not only on time but early. And since Call the Car was using all company drivers, the end of the meeting went very smoothly since all of them were waiting there and they were the same drivers that did the initial pickups so it was easy to know which driver to go with. They also had supervisory staff on-site in the meeting to make sure things went smoothly. No cancelled rides and no unnecessary waiting. In addition to the actual rides, the customer service center over the phone is also very helpful. There is little to no wait, which is great, and the people over the phone try their best to solve problems and so far they've always followed through. Either the first person you contact or a manager/supervisor will make sure things are set up and scheduled properly or if they are unable to resolve the situation at that moment, they make sure to follow up and inform you of any changes or issues. In conclusion, the company is able to learn from their mistakes and improve the transportation service. They are receptive to improvement. And their call center is very professional and are able to follow through and solve problems. read more

I live two miles from UCLA Medical Center. I usually walk there and walk home. Today I was having a procedure in the Medical Procedures Unit. Had to be driven there and back since I was having an anesthetic. My insurance, Blue Shield Enhanced (HMO), pays for non-emergency medical transportation provide by Call The Car. Called the Blue Shield transportation phone number and made a reservation. Also downloaded the Call The Car app (CTC-GO) on my cell phone. This morning the Call The Car car (provided by Lyft) arrived on time. While the car was enroute I received many text updates about where the car was, the driver's name, and a description of the car. It was the same after my procedure. When I was ready to go home someone in the Medical Procures Unit called Call The Car. Once again received text updates. The car arrived around a minute after I arrived at front door of the 200 UCLA Medical Plaza building. The drivers in both directions were very nice and very helpful. read more

But also, it's important to know that you should confirm your pick-up time, simply by checking it in the phone app - or just call in to quickly double-check your pickup time: A day or two in advance. Looking in your app is probably easier; either way, just help ensure that the representative entered the right time for your upcoming ride reservation. My little brother has terminal cancer, and I schedule a ride for one of his chemotherapy appointments over a month in advance on the app to guarantee the ride. When the day came around, no one arrived, and when I called, they said that because the appointment was scheduled more than 30-days in advance that they auto-canceled his ride. I received zero notification of the cancellation, and the app showed his scheduled ride appointment as though he should be expecting the ride. He was late to his chemotherapy after frantically searching for someone to give him a ride which cost him money he doesn't have. While he was at his appointment, I spoke to someone and scheduled him a "will call" return ride. When he was ready to return, I called in his return ride with your new automated system, and it said it was sending a car, and that he can receive text updates. No car came, and he received no text updates. I called back and spoke to someone who said no car was sent. We spent about 25 minutes (in addition to) trying to get my brother a ride because the rep needed special authorization. My brother having just had hours of chemotherapy sat outside close to an hour waiting for a ride. I have little trust in this company, and expect more of the same. read more

Horrible company. My father is in a wheel chair every time we call this company, the vendors they work with leave my father hanging... He is always waiting outside for the driver, because he is in a wheelchair is difficult for them to find a wheelchair bound vehicle. They book the reservation anyway when time comes for pick up they "no show" stating the patient was not at residence. I'm complaining now because I literally see my dad waiting since 7:30am for his 8am pick up. They said they will arrive in 10 minutes, And it's 9:12am. They said they came but the did not. The call the car app helps a lot, making it easy and they send reminders about the rides which helps me out , given the fact that I can't help but to not remember SHIT! if I remember right, I've made a few appointments for the neurologist wanting to look into whether or not my memory is going to improve but then I forget about the appointment and ride scheduled until I downloaded the call the car app. There's only one issue I've had and that is with the scheduling needing to be finished within 24hrs. There's been a couple times they would not accept my requests for a ride with their new 24hr policy and they don't work with you at all on accepting the request no matter situation or need. hopefully everyone is healthy and happy!!! There AI line is terrible. I have 10 AM APPT hospital is less than 3 miles away. Had to go round and round with AI to book 930 AM pick up. Half the time it doesn't understand you. I do not have an accent. Kept trying to make me book 45 min - 1 hr pick up time. Less than 2 miles doesn't take 30 min or more. Their line breaks up constantly. read more

A lot of improvement at this company is necessary. There is not enough focus on the actual patients needs. The quantity over quality of calls should not be the focus of the company especially if you can't get the service right all the time. The patients need to feel like they are cared about and this should be the main concern and should always be number one versus how many calls you take during a shift at this company. If you take 50 calls but none of the patients get their cars this is bad business. read more

The drivers are great. it's the managmenet, dispatchers (not all of them), and the supervisors. I've had to file an incident report, and after the incident report all of a sudden they have no one to take me to my appointments, this has happened THREE TIMES! once, I was left outside and got sick, the building wasn't even opened yet, second time the driver made me feel uncomfortable, and the last time my arm got injured. horrible and completely sad. they really don't care, they are listed online with info like "a transportation company that ensured that the most vulnerable communities in California received the care they deserved." I call bullshit! These dispatchers at call the car are violating people's rights. They are calling Doctors offices and pharmacies trying to get patient information. According to title CFR 42 there is a Doctors and patients confidentiality and when My Doctors office doesn't give them info then call the car will cancel the ride this is unethical and a clear violation. These people are only dispatchers and are in no way involved in the medical field, shame on them and the Doctors offices that do give them info about a patient. This was our first and will be our last experience booking transportation for our elderly mother with this company and Call the Car completely dropped the ball. The good-ease of making appointment. The app is fairly user friendly. The bad-the driver never showed up, causing our elderly mother to miss her doctor's appointment and she had to reschedule. Luckily, her provider was understanding. However, this will not always be the case, especially when providers often charge a no show fee. Driver was scheduled to come a half hour before appointment. This time was set by Call the Car. Calls and texts were made to confirm the ride but it was all for nothing. When I call, getting an actual person on the phone can be tricky. Tried confirming location of the driver and phone system sent me to AI, giving me incorrect information. Stating car was 20 minutes away, then 10, then saying car was at the location, when it was nowhere to be found. Call center couldn't account for the driver's lateness. Driver finally contacted our mom stating that Call the Car contacted him late for the pickup. So who's accountable? Canceled future appointments we had set up with Call the Car. Will use Uber or Lyft in the future for her. What a shame, we thought this would be a helpful service for our mother and Call the Car completely missed the mark. The AI isn't that intelligent. This company is making money off contracts with MediCal, Medicare, whatever entity, so unfortunately, this is another instance where the consumer gets shorted. BEWARE!! read more
