There are really good companies, and really bad companies. And, once in a while, you find a truly abysmal company. Call a Cab falls into the latter category. Yesterday morning I called this outfit to reserve a Cab pick-up at Melbourne (FL) airport. The person who answered sounded very professional , and asked a series of questions relating to our arrival time, airline and flight number, and a return phone number in case they needed to contact me. All of this information was provided. We arrived at approximately 10:30 PM, collected our luggage and went outside to look for our expected taxi. Guess what, no taxi. I called the company and after an attempt to convince me that all their cabs were busy, the less than articulate female told me that the person who took the reservation shouldn't have accepted it. She added that they were not allowed to pick up at the airport. I was incredulous, as there was no hint of a problem during initial contact. Nor was there any attempt on the part of the company to contact me so that I could make other arrangements. When I told the person that they were very unprofessional, she told me that I was not very nice! What an idiot! IF YOU NEED A TAXI IN MELBOURNE, THERE ARE LOTS OF COMPANIES TO CHOOSE FROM. don't CALL CALL a CAB!!!!! read more

I called Call-A-Cab last night to get picked up from Downtown Melbourne. I was dispatched an individual named Mike (or so he say). I have had problems with him in the past, so I said "I will will wait for another cab due to having problems with you in the past", and I closed the do"or. He then yelled out the window something on the lines of "whatever you Fucking faggot!" So I began to try t call the dispatcher to tell how appalled I was For his Comment. she proceeded to tell me that it was my fault for not telling her that I did not want mike to come pick me up. She refused to have another driver sent out to pick me up. After about 15-20 minutes of her hanging up on me and and calling he back to no resolution, I decided to walk home. I will never use this cab service again as the lady behind the phone is very unprofessional and has no customer service skills what so ever. Their drivers are rude and call you derogatory names. I will start using UBER from now on. read more

My family has been using this cab service since 2006. We've never really had any problems until today. My mother was called for a cab, and the dispatcher was extremely rude to her because he was having a hard time understanding her (she speaks with an accent). He yelled at her and told her to stop talking and hung up the phone. My teenage daughter called and asked him why he was so being so disrespectful and he yelled at my daughter that she should have made the call instead of my mother and saved everyone time. My daughter called me at work extremely upset and I decided to call them. I told the dispatcher my family has been using this business since 2006. I asked him why would you be so rude to a long time customer. He told me that he doesn't care he is going to be rude to customers if he doesn't understand what they are saying. He then told me that the "idiot" that was there with my mother should have called for the cab instead. That idiot he is speaking of is my teenage daughter. I completely lost my cool and told him a few choice words and he hung up. I called back and asked to speak to his manager. He told me he's the manager. I told him this company has lost my business and he told me Call-A-Cab doesn't want our business. I asked why is that? You don't want to do business with black people? He responded very loudly and dismissively "oh brother here we go with the racism bull". This business has people in management that verbally abuses senior citizens and children trying just to call a cab. Call-A-Cab has a person in management that is racist and xenophobic and I will share this with everyone I know. I will take my chances with Uber going forward. read more

I have been using this company exclusively since 2011, with some minor issues, but they are the most affordable for someone on a very tight budget. Even after my income increased, i still used this company. We have had 2 or 3 drivers that were Great & we hoped to have that experience with all the drivers. In the last year 2018-May 2019, i have had way TO MANY ISSUES & have STOPPED ALL business with Call A Cab after last week{June 2019}. Several of the drivers smoke in their vehicles in between pick ups, which is not horrible, because i can't tell them not to smoke in their own car when they have no passengers, but they REALLY need to put the windows DOWN before picking up new passengers. We do not smoke & it is an overwhelmingly disgusting smell for us. I wish we had the card & name of the driver that picked us up 3 separate times, in a dirty & smelly car, not very clean man with longer hair, that almost got us into SEVERAL car accidents with his erratic & high speed driving to & from our location, & we are only 5 mins from my Dr.'s office, i checked. He did NOT pay enough attention to traffic, because he was texting on his phone. Several other times of calling an hour or sometime longer out for a taxi, the driver would get "lost", even though i was told the driver was on my street & will be at my home any minute from the dispatcher/manager, only to be told by the 3rd or 4th time of calling, that he was lost & it may take longer for the driver to get to me. My last Dr. appt. was extremely important & i had waited over 2 weeks to be seen. I had to cancel, due to the driver getting "lost" & that was the 3rd time a driver got "lost" finding our place. We agreed we are just DONE with them. read more
