My appointment was on time! Dr. Mostafa was amazing. He spent a lot of time looking at my chart and asking questions. He didn't just brush me off. He ordered appropriate labs/tests and included me in my plan of care. He made sure to set a follow up to ensure I stay informed and cared for. I have been calling and requesting an appointment online for months and they refuse to either answer my calls or respond back to me. I have to get testosterone injections on a regular basis and I have been trying to set up an appointment for a year now. So I been without testosterone for a year. And I can't go to another doctor because I apparently have to hand deliver my medical records to the new doctor. read more

Disappointing experience all around. To start, the prescription for the anti anxiety for my vasectomy procedure wasn't issued and I found out after. The procedure was botched such that I was in 3 months of pain after because they sowed my vas deferents to the inside of my skin so it was constantly tugging. Finally, they are not providing follow up information on the effectiveness of the procedure in a timely fashion when they have had the information for over a week. Avoid at all costs. read more

I initially saw the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from this clinic at the hospital, and they were exceptional--compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to patient care. Based on that experience, I had high hopes for this clinic when I was referred for urgent follow-up care due to the seriousness of my condition. Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff was profoundly disappointing. When trying to schedule an appointment, I encountered significant challenges. Calls went unanswered, and I was left on hold for extended periods, sometimes to the point of frustration. Eventually, I found a way to bypass the automated system to get someone to pick up--a workaround no patient should have to discover just to secure vital care. The office staff's demeanor over the phone was disheartening. Many interactions gave the impression that they were uninterested in assisting patients, which contrasts with the dedication shown by the medical staff. It's important for the office staff to recognize that patients are not trying to make their jobs anymore difficult because just as the office staff doesn't want to continue to file paperwork and talk to new patients.. patients also do NOT want to interact with people who are making the patient's life harder than it has to be considering the fact that these patients are going through life altering diagnosis and are seeking care that is vital to our health and well-being. Ultimately, as I was going through the struggle of dealing with this Clinic, I was able to also find a different clinic that could address my urgent medical needs. Thankfully, that clinic was responsive, empathetic, and able to provide the care I needed. It's disappointing that California Urology could not do the same. While the medical staff at this clinic seem dedicated and capable, the office staff's behavior and inefficiency severely undermine the quality of care this establishment could provide. I sincerely hope the management takes steps to improve the patient experience because no one seeking care should feel dismissed or ignored, especially in situations where their wellbeing is at stake. read more

This office is awful! I'd give zero starts if I could. They don't answer the phone, never return calls, and are extremely rude. Office staff plays such a huge part of your experience with a doctor. This has by far been the worst staff I've ever dealt with. The doctor was fine, however for the staff attitudes to be this bad, I'd assume this isn't a good place to work. People who are treated and paid well usually perform well! For the whole staff to be this rude and miserable, I'm guessing behind the scenes isn't great. There really isn't any excuse for a successful medical office to be like this. Time to hire a company to come in a fix this disaster of an office! I recently read the reviews on the quality of the office staff at California Urology. Several of the reviews were posted years ago and it seems nothing has proved! Recently had surgery and have left several messages with no return phone call. It's almost impossible to reach anyone. I find this conduct totally unprofessional. It is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone, we have been calling 20+ times a day for months and no one ever answers. It was easy to make an appointment earlier this year but now that we need test results, it is absolutely impossible. We have been waiting on test results for over a month. They should be calling patients with the results, not making patients call 100s of times with still no answer. We even went to the office IN PERSON and the office manager was "out of office" we left information for them to pass along and never heard anything back. I would NOT recommend this place if you value your time and money. The procedure was not cheap and I do not appreciate being ignored when all I need is the test result. Insane. read more

Large and comfortable waiting area. The front staff are pleasant and courteous. Having kidney stones is a very painful experience and found that Dr. Rahman is the specialist helping you with any urological issues. Dr. Rahman has excellent bedside manners and takes the time to discuss your issues. Highly recommended. read more

The Dr I saw was great. But if you ever have to deal with the office staff, they are rude and disrespectful. They don't answer the phones. Then when I did get through to them they hung up on me. She didn't even listen to what I needed. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior. I was calling because I am getting messages that I was a no show for an appt. This is an appt I knew nothing about. It says it was a post op appt. And I cancelled that precedure. So I don't want to be charged for an appt they are saying I didn't show up for. I have previously posted about California Urology. I rarely post anything but I find the doctor's associated with this practice so astoundingly poor in patient care I feel compelled hoping I can save at least 1 person. Three months ago my son, who is a member of Kaiser, went to the ER with kidney stones. Kaiser contracts with California Urology and Dr Andrew Chi came to "care" for him. A procedure was performed where a stent was placed and I was told my son would have to come back to break up the stones. Dr Chi never came to the waiting room to talk with me after the procedure. When I had the hospital staff tract him down he called me. He told me that in a week or so they would remove the stent and break up the stones. 2 months later I am back at Kaiser with my son. Again, the doctor has disappeared without speaking to me. My son is in recovery and I have zero idea what has occurred. When did doctors stop talking to families that anxiously waiting? Shame on you Dr Chi. We are not things that are just a compilation of body parts....we are human beings and that is my son you worked on. It's a disgrace. Once again, I find this practice sorely lacking in treating the whole patient. I guess my son was just a kidney stone --not a person. This is an update to my previous statements. Apparently, a stent was left in my son and it was to be taken out in 2-3 weeks. It was scheduled for 2 months later. Prior to that date, Dr Chi rescheduled the appointment for another 2 months out. My son is an adult but by this time I had just enough of watching my son in pain. I contacted Kaisers Urology department and within a week they resolved my son's medical issues. Please save yourself some heartache and find another office to deal with. read more

Referred to Dr. Betani who asked Dr. Chi to put in my stent. Dr Chi cancelled my post op twice. Dr. Betani saw me and referred me back to Dr. Chi for stent removal. Chi canceled again citing surgery again. Dr. Betani reluctantly remove the stent while telling me disclaimers on how if anything went wrong I would have to go to emergency. The stent was in 6 weeks with no explanation of why. I was originally told 3 it 4 weeks and in major pain. It appears Dr. Chi is more interested in surgery than follow-up ($$$) and Dr. Betani is somewhat cowardly. So basically I was the "buck" being passed around instead of caring for me; MOney and CYA are more important than patient care. I would assign zero stars if I could. Don't go there. He stays current with all the new treatment and surgical technologies and performs them flawlessly. His knowledge and capability are excellent, his judgement and recommendations are trustworthy. When you are in the office you're standing there and the phone is ringing and ringing and ringing. I don't see how there isn't anyone getting a stern warning that they aren't doing their job. This is the worst place to call and try to make an appointment. It's phone tag. I tried to make an appointment with the scheduling assistance, you will get her voice mail and she will call you back within 24 hours. Until then it's phone tag, for the next 24 hours. Since the doctor's office number does not come up on my cell ID, I answered all the telemarketers (And once you answer one telemarketer, they all call, like flies) just waiting for the callback. But unfortunately, the scheduling assistant did call back, I missed the call and the process starts over again. I tried to discuss this issue with Merlin (Office Manager), negative results. She doesn't care and shows no concern, only to justify the scheduling assistant's actions. Hey, how about returning calls the next day between the hours of 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. So my doctor is awesome which sucks because I might be looking for a different place to go to. I don't like male doctors but he had to do surgery on me and has been super helpful and answers all my questions. My 1 star is because of the rude office staff. I been trying to get disability for over a month now and they refuse to do anything about it. The guy that does the paperwork didn't put a start date so disability is waiting for that and the office staff refuses to call them and give them a date. No one likes having problems and needing to see a doctor. But if you do have a need for this place, Dr Minor is the best. Chao Vang, NP is the best! They both listen, reassure, and met my needs within one office visit. (On two separate visits) I feel well taken care of, and confident I'm on my way to good health again . Then there's the office staff. Jennifer greeted me and had such a pleasant demeanor, and service with a smile. She helped me immediately to feel calmer and hopeful simply by the intake information. I didn't get her name, but the medical assistant who showed me to the room, was also as amazing as the others. I probably gave her more information than what she was asking. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I have been coming to the Clovis Community location for over 2 years to get my injection every Thursday. Today I show up at 12:00pm ( which is roughly the time I come each Thursday) and I am told I am going to have to wait for a long time. I'm told the reason why is because a 10:15am appointment was made for me without my knowledge. I ask why I will be forced to wait so long if it's not my mistake. To this I am then told that the injection people are on lunch and the last injection is done at 11:30am ( I arrived at 11:50). I then ask what time they will be back and I'm told 1:30pm. So now I'm stuck waiting for 1:40 minutes for no fault of my own. The cold attitude of the ladies helping me has left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I took the time to write my first review ever! read more

Avoid this office at all cost. . Office staff rarely answers the phone, referrals take weeks, and doctors are incompetent. I was referred here by urgent care and should have listened to the reviews. After labs and two procedures the doctor still couldn't figure out what was causing my symptoms and didn't seem interested in finding out more. After one procedure which I was told would be "uncomfortable " I was in 9/10 pain for most of the next 2 weeks. I had to have 3 appts in 1.5 (with NP Jim who was the only one who seemed interested in helping) and the doctor denied any scans to see why this was since I had no pain before. It also seemed like since it was uncommon they felt I must have been exaggerating. I made the mistake in believing they were competent and not go to ER . It's as if they just hoped the issue would go away because they as they said had no idea why it happened and my guess was as good as theirs. I have had bad experiences with doctors before but the sheer cluelessness , lack of urgency and no care for the patients well being is next level. I'm still waiting on a referral that given my symptoms and pain level should have been sent immediately after the procedure. Go to someone else and get some better care read more

The office staff at California Urology has made great strides since Merlin, the office manager, took over at the current Clovis location. Previously, patients would have to wait extended periods of time just to get a hold of the scheduling Receptionist. Sometimes the patient would be on hold for over an hour. However, Merlin revamped the phone lines, hired new staff, and made positive changes so that it is much easier now to schedule an appointment or speak to staff regarding questions or issues. Her staff are professional and treat each guest with respect. In addition, Merlin has been very instrumental in helping resolve issues or follow up on requests that may have been overlooked or needed follow through. She is an "action" person, not just talk!! At California Urology, Dr. Thomas Minor is one of the best Urologists in the Central Valley, if not in the entire state of California. He welcomes his patients with a warm reception, is extremely positive in presenting test results, and has such a unique way of explaining complicated concepts with his more simplified illustrations/drawings as he sits next to the patient. He makes his patients feel more optimistic by the time they leave his office. We are very fortunate to have such an outstanding Urologist as Dr. Thomas Minor, supported by his hardworking and professional office staff led by Office Manager Merlin, in the Fresno/Clovis community!! read more

Dr. Raman is by far the best urologist! Been dealing with stones since 16 and was told I would pass them and I switched to Dr. Raman and not even 5 min in the room with him he told me there was a 15% Chance and I was scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later.
