The instructor said swing yoga is only offered now for private parties. They do, however, offer occasional sound bath & paddle board yoga classes (with rentals provided) which is super fun & unique. All the instructors seem extremely knowledgeable and kind. You do hear some road noise at times in this studio, and occasionally from the restaurant directly below them, but nothing too terrible. The studio happened to be running a $39 unlimited class deal for new students so I took advantage. In the last month I have tried the Barre, Core, Hot Flow, Vin, Vin/Yin and Yoga for Anxiety classes. All of the instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. I told them I was new and most took care to show me ways to improve my practice. The space has two inviting rooms, cubby holes for shoes and such, and a small store. They also have online registration for classes. Hot Flow and Barre are usually packed each class, so I make sure to register for those online. If you're looking to improve your practice or just try it out come on over to Aiken Yoga.

She started off with an oatmeal milk bath bomb that she makes herself, then a calming soak, nail management, sugar foot scrub, essential oil massage, hot towel, then painting. She hit all of the right pressure points during the foot massage! She had hot tea and lemon water available as well. The ambiance was great...from the calming spa music, the decor, the essential oil humidifier to the super comfy recliner. I have attended classes on Sunday mornings so when I talk about my experience it's for Sunday mornings bright and early, gotta love those annoying morning people(yep that's me ‍) So when I attended my first class I was a little nervous hell im no spring chicken anymore, I'm old my joints should be oiled for flexibility but what the hell let's give it a try... I walked in and found I wasn't the only old one lol no offense there were people of all ages. I found my little spot for my mat in the back by the corner. I always like being in the back so no one can see me and how awkward i look with some of these poses but secretly in the back of my mind I'm also wondering if my cheap Walmart Yoga pants are showing my ass every time I bend over or as my son calls it "going invisible" Lord help the person doing downward facing dog behind me and happen to look up and see more than they bargained for ‍!! So I'm getting into the poses the instructor has now succeeded in making me feel relaxed forgetting all my insecurities. She is wonderful love love the instructor!! I can go on and on but let me get to the review great place it's clean, accepting, judgement-free, reasonably priced ($10) a class and a starting place to become one with you‍

Classes tend to be small, ranging from six to twenty people, and generally everyone gets some individual attention, especially those who have less experience or experience trouble getting into the poses. The first class is free, and after that $14 each, although teachers, students, and military personnel get classes for $9. Classes are definitely a physcial challenge, both to strength and flexibility. The only real improvements I could see would be a larger practice area and a bigger changing area/locker room. I'm a guy who sweats a lot, and if I need to go anywhere after a class, the best I can do is a baby-wipe shower in a one-person bathroom.

Since this was my first time at this studio my first class was free (drop-ins thereafter are $10 I believe). The clientele was a bit older for this class (as in past their college/grad school years), I'm not sure what it's like for the traditional classes. Kimberly the owner was very friendly and welcoming upon my entrance and "registration" (they have you fill out a release waiver). The studio is just one big room, with storage and one bathroom in the back. I brought my own mat, but they do provide all other props free of charge (blocks, blankets, sandbags). Unfortunately my asthma flared up and I started having a coughing fit during the wind down of the class (gah so embarrassing) so I excused myself to go cough in the bathroom, when I returned to my mat, Helen had put a few tissues and a cough drop down for me annnnnnnd eventually had to give me a water bottle. Although I was embarrassed, I really didn't feel any judgement. Thank you!!!!!! The class was excellent, very relaxing and a nice change (very good for the lower back pain I was having). Amsa also offers basic flow, vinyasa flow, deep stretch, yin yoga, and gentle stretch as well as special events led by out of town yogis! Check their Facebook for updates. I highly recommend!

I have been attending Water Aerobics classes, Cardio Barre, Gentle Stretch Yoga, Flow and Deep Stretch Yoga, RIP and Restorative Yoga for over three years at this center. So I think I am qualified to mention a few things from my experience. Village Fitness is very fortunate to have a dedicated group of fully trained and certified instructors. I have to mention a few ladies by name - Katie, Patty, Frere, Dolorita and Sydnee and give them the credit and kudos they all deserve. They all conduct fun, beneficial and worthwhile classes. I also have to give high praise to MaryBeth, the Front Desk Manager. She is the type of employee every business needs at their front office to greet and know all the members by name and the classes they attend. Mary Beth keeps everything at the Fitness Center running smoothly, keeps everyone in fresh clean towels, keeps the ladies changing room stocked and spotless and handles complaints and problems with a big smile that we all see each time we check in. She follows through on your concerns and gets back with an answer. Good Job MaryBeth! I hope management knows and appreciates their staff. Having MaryBeth or one of the other smiling faces greeting me by name early in the morning as I enter the facility makes a difference. And I see how a great staff encourages members to attend more regularly.
