this is my opinion only, I called and asked if they had the regular white or grey granite rocks, river rocks, size of a soccer ball. They said they did. I drove there and they are asking a dollar a pound I'm not exaggerating a rock the size of a soccer ball he wanted $25 so I said thank you and walked out. If you've been in the market for landscaping rocks, you'll find that they are ridiculously expensive for what they are - rocks! That's why I was in disbelief when I stumbled upon CA Quarry's website and saw the prices. I kept doing the math to see if I was comparing apples to apples with other places (like Home Depot). Then I decided to call them and ask to make sure my calculations for the amount of rocks needed were correct. Brett answered the phone and was super patient walking me (a novice) through the selection, pricing, amount needed, etc. It turns out my calculations were right - these guys ARE way cheaper (about 6-7x) than your Home Depot and the like, even after accounting for delivery. Score! I called back later and spoke with Stuart the owner to place my order and schedule delivery. "Do you want the products delivered today?" he asks. What, really? I was thinking a week, two... no. Wow what speed. We scheduled for the delivery the next day. I was super excited to receive the shipment, but unfortunately our stupid driveway had an incline that was too steep for the truck to go up (something I knew could have potentially been an issue but after discussing with Stuart took the chance anyway). The driver tried and tried but just couldn't do it. How sad for me... So basically Stuart granted me an exception and refunded me the entire order. This was no one's fault (but our driveway's), but what I really appreciated was Stuart's way of doing business. He could have made me eat some of the charge since after all they hauled that load all the way from Landcaster, but no he was kind enough to not do that to me. Thank you CA Quarry. I'm very sad that I'll have to pay more elsewhere that has a smaller delivery truck and wish we could have completed the transaction today, but I very much appreciate the honest way these guys run their business. read more

We've purchased soil from here a couple times now for our raised beds at home and again for our community garden plot in Palmdale and our plants are sooooo bursting with huge harvests, so is one of our fellow gardeners, we shared some of it with her. She was so excited how beautiful her hollyhocks were blooming. We also purchased several gorgeous boulders and very nice bark to finish out our front yard landscaping. GREAT PRICES AND GREAT SERVICE. My experience at California Quarry Products was absolutely perfect. When I first called, I didn't know what to ask because I had never been to a rock quarry before. I spoke with Brett, who was so warm and welcoming. I told him what I was planning. He asked the size of the area and took it from there. He told me the exact amount I needed, recommended rocks that would be best for curb appeal, suggested the size bolder, and had everything delivered to my home within the hour. My project turned out beautifully, which I had rocks left over. So, I decided to do another section of my yard. I called a couple days later and Brett greeted me by name and remembered the rocks I purchased. It is very difficult to get that type of customer service nowadays. This time I didn't know the exact size of the lot. He drew a picture based on my description, and again took it from there. He told me I needed a little more than before. Even though he knew I was totally relying on him for the amount needed, he did not try to cheat me by selling me another skip. He suggested an additional half skip and a bucket of large rocks. This saved me money and again my project was beautifully done. I read other reviews and someone commented that other companies were cheaper. I did not find that to be true based on the information I found. I called several other companies. One establishment would not even discuss pricing with me until I provided all of my personal information and then they emailed a quote days later. I didn't want to wait a week or two to get started. Another place told me that I needed twice as many rocks as Brett had recommended, which their prices appeared to be cheaper, but it would have been very costly if I hadn't gone to California Quarry Products. I prefer to spend my money where I am not only getting a great price, but also receive the customer service every customer deserves, whether your order is small or large. My wife and I needed a lot rock for our front yard. We went online and found California Quarry Products in Lancaster, Ca. We live in Lancaster, so we stopped by and looked at their selection of rocks. The employee working at the counter was very nice and friendly. He answered our questions, and let us browse their selection outside. We had some questions about two or three of the products, so the employee went outside with us and helped us choose. We liked their Arizona River rocks so we ordered eight skip loads of it. We needed about ten skip loads, but the truck could only hold up to eight. We asked that they call us before they deliver the rocks to our home so that we could be ready for them when they got there. I also asked if they could dump the rock onto my lawn to save me some work later. The employee said that that was no problem, as long as the truck could fit. I personally ensured that the employee wrote down all of those instructions onto the form that the truck driver used to find our home. About a week later, the truck driver delivered the rocks. He did come within the times quoted, but nobody called us to let us know he was on his way. I was in my living room when I heard the truck pull up, so I put on my shoes and went outside. By the time I got outside, the truck driver had started to pour the eight skip loads of rocks onto my driveway. Luckily I stopped him before he poured out too much rock. I asked him why he didn't call before he left the business, and he said that he didn't see any instructions to do so on his paperwork. I also asked why he didn't knock on my front door when he got to my home. He said that since he didn't see any cars outside he thought that nobody was home (My wife and I keep our vehicles inside our garage). Hmmm, a bit suspicious but the driver might not have gotten the paperwork (but he still found the house somehow). The driver then dumped the remaining eight skip loads onto my lawn where I wanted it so I didn't have any issue. Since my front yard still needs about two skip loads of rock, my wife called the California Quarry Products to order the last two skips. This time the owner, Richard, answered the phone. My wife mentioned that nobody called us last time they came to dump the rocks. Richard then started ranting how they don't call people, that it's not their policy to call people, that if the customer wasn't home they couldn't chase people all around town, etc. etc. etc. My wife even told Richard that she wasn't trying to complain, but then Richard interrupted her, "Let me put it this way, we don't call you. Have a nice day". That's when Richard hung up on my wife. My wife called me, almost at the point of tears, to let me know what Richard had done. I immediately called the California Quarry Products to talk to the manager (Richard never identified himself to my wife). Richard answered the phone; I identified myself and asked to talk to the manager. Richard said he was the manager. I asked him his name, he said, "Richard, what's yours" in a very rude way. I then asked again if he was the manager, this time he said he was the owner. I again identified myself and that my wife had just called. At this point Richard said, "your wife just called me giving me a hard time about calling her". Huh!?!?!?!?! "You are the owner?" "Yes I am" "I have never heard the owner of a small business talk about his customers in that way!" "Well, I've never heard a customer talk about somebody she doesn't even know phoning her. If you don't like it, you can take your business elsewhere!" I, of course, said "Gladly". I wasn't even on the phone with him for one minute. WOW! I couldn't believe the stupidity of this business owner. I mean, my wife and I were repeat customers. We had money in our hands to buy more rock from him. My wife is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet in your life, and this moron was rude to her! Not only did he and his employees lose our current order, but he lost all of our future business. (We have a large property that needs a lot of landscaping dirt and rock). He will not get any of that business. We have told all of our friends and coworkers. Now we are telling you, do not go to California Quarry Products! read more

I was inquiring about rock and possibly purchasing a few truck and trailer loads and he was just such a jerk. He just kept asking me "what kind of question is that" and "who are you" finally after telling him that I was having a hard time finding this product he said "So is everyone else good luck with that" and he hung up on me.
