We quickly learned that portions are huge, and very little English is spoken at these smaller places. No worries though...after stumbling through ordering a beer (easy to order) and a Chardonnay (a little different) we ordered a large salad and a pizza to share. Service was excellent once we overcame the language barrier, and the large house salad (Gruner salat), and a combo pizza (stagioni) for 10.50 and 23.50 Francs were excellent! The staff are very pleasant and accommodating...we found one waitress who spoke English. This is definitely a popular place for families and locals and can be very busy.
