Caroline was so kind in answering my questions and volunteered to check if I had the correct address this time registered with the Secretary of State which I did. Payment is either by Zelle with a bit of savings or credit card. The registered agent was nearby. So it was done in a couple days with the proof of service following a few days later. For an extra fee she will file the SC-104 Proof of Service, or you can do so yourself. If I ever need another process server or any other services Reliable Attorney Services offers, I would choose them without a doubt!

He then did in fact do the calling (and provided evidence of this!), and managed to wrangle all the hard work of arranging a service time. Basically I feel like I got "Private Eye" detective level of service here for just regular process serving cost. Super recommended, great communication, and seems to be totally on the ball. So far, I've used four process servers: two were great (including LA Pro Servers), and the other two were hilariously bad. Weirdly, this is also one of the less expensive process servers in the LA / Santa Monica area. Definitely my top pick if I need future service in the area!

I am submitting this review to provide a factual record based entirely on documented communication. I first contacted Process2Serve on February 28, 2026. Communication was initially responsive, but that changed once payment was requested. On March 6 at 12:27 p.m., I called during business hours and left a voicemail with no return call. At 4:54 p.m., just before closing, I received an email stating service would occur Monday and that payment was required, despite no response to my voicemail. I paid the invoice expecting to speak with someone before service. At 10:49 p.m., I received a payment confirmation with no contact. On March 7, I emailed twice to correct information. Both messages went unanswered. I also called during posted Saturday hours with no response. Every contact method listed on the company's website was used. On March 8, I sent a written instruction not to proceed with service until we had spoken. This also received no response. By this point, multiple attempts to reach Process2Serve had gone unacknowledged. On March 9, I sent a final cancellation notice documenting the pattern of unresponsiveness. Only then did Process2Serve reply, after all cancellation attempts had already been sent. The response blamed me for contacting during closed hours and stated they had been out of town. They acknowledged receiving my cancellation but still retained a $10 fee, despite no service being performed. Because communication had broken down entirely, I hired another process server, and the documents were served properly without issue. My review is based solely on the documented timeline. No service was performed, multiple attempts to correct information were ignored, and cancellation instructions were not acknowledged until after repeated follow-ups. Retaining any fee under these circumstances is concerning and unprofessional. Please also see a review posted by EM E. May 13, 2026, which displays the same behaviors.

I talked to several process servers and explained all our struggles and difficulties. I asked each of them how they would handle the situation if our defendant proved impossible to serve after trying. Chris's answer to that question was a confident laugh and, "I will have him served." That's why I went with him, and I am very happy I trusted my gut. Chris was able to take the limited clues and information we provided, track him down, and complete substituted service when personal service was not realistically possible. What impressed us most was not just that Chris got the defendant served, but what happened afterward. Close to the hearing, the defendant filed a Motion to Quash Service and also sent us a separate packet challenging the service that had not even been properly filed with the court. It was stressful and confusing, but Chris immediately stepped in, provided detailed records, explained the applicable small claims service rules, and helped us understand exactly how to respond. Chris was patient, responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. He did not just serve the papers and disappear -- he stood behind his work and helped us deal with the defendant's attempt to challenge service. The judge ultimately denied the defendant's Motion to Quash and found the service to be valid and sufficient. Serving the defendant was the biggest hurdle in our case, and I am so happy Chris helped us get over it. Now that we've won the judgment, Chris is even guiding us on how to claim the service fee, as it's allowed to be recovered by law. We truly appreciate Chris' professionalism, fast response time, attention to detail, and endless patience in explaining the process when we were panicking. Once again Nancy came to my aid, this time it was for a family law matter... Since it is a challenge to suit my ex's working schedule or the times he'd be home, just too much to chase after. So, we did the process serving at a Burbank park, where it was so much easier - on a Saturday. Nancy went out of her way, even though it was a last minute scheduled process serving... Nancy was great!! I would give her more stars if I could. We found her on Yelp after being financially drained on our divorce. We had started with an attorney but ran out of money very quickly. Thousands of dollars later, we decided to finish our case on our own since our legal fees were going through the roof. I mentioned this to the clerk as she was changing the date again. She had suggested to use a process service company. Unfortunately she (my first lawyer, NOT Emily) was also terrible to me, unorganized, unethical in her billing, wouldn't respond to my ex's settlement offer, and was slapdash in her approach to my case, not telling me I needed to respond to discovery until I only had a week left to do so. I contacted Emily in despair. She took the reins immediately starting with handling the turnover from the old lawyer, handling problems with my ex, and got everything organized and back under control. She kept me informed and calm. She was gentle and compassionate but also realistic and honest with me to properly set my expectations. She listened to and incorporated my thoughts and suggestions where they would work in our favor. Her research and writing were top notch. The mediation brief she wrote was a work of art - so persuasive, incorporating solid research and bolstered by specific and complete evidence. In the end she was able to more than double what I was getting in child support and getting my ex to pay for my medically fragile child's insurance until 26. Also she was extremely judicious, fair and reasonable in her billing. I always felt I had gotten great value for the cost. If you want a smart, effective, compassionate attorney on your side during your divorce, or any other family law matter, I highly recommend that you hire Emily Rubenstein.

She didn't take my case right away, she asked that I think it over before I file. Which I thought was interesting, I thought lawyers were all about the money.
