When I arrived she had the puppy there for me to interact with. Stacey answered all of my questions, had a folder with all of the puppies information, shot history and also had available a pet crate for her I was able to purchase. In addition she had a gift bag with some pee pads, kibble, a toy for my puppy and some other extras to help the puppy during her transition to her new home. I couldn't be happier. We were devastated after the unexpected loss of our Morkie, Cooper, and knew that we wanted another Morkie. We got our little guy from Ca Cuddles over a year ago. We adore him. We kept going back to the website to look at his picture. He had and has the sweetest little face. Since veterinary incompetence killed our last little man, we were nervous about getting Percy. What if he had LP or any of the other issues that can occur? Stacey talked to us for a long time, and seemed understanding of our hesitance. After we met Percy, we knew he was our dog. His only "health issue" has been carsickness, which seems to be pretty common in puppies, which he has since outgrown. Our new vet said he has zero LP, and seems to be in terrific health. He's sooooo smart and learns new tricks so rapidly. It takes about three repeats for him to learn a new key word, so we now have to spell out things like treat, cheese or walk if we are not doing those things immediately. We miss Cooper every day, but Percy has helped us to heal and I can't imagine life without him. read more

I love my teacup maltese only 1.4 pounds at 3 months. Stacey totally knows what she is doing. She has all her paperwork on file , AKC, shots, my little puppy even got his microchip already when i bought it so I'm never able to loose. I've had Queen for over a year now and she is a happy healthy little girl! She grew to about 4.7lb and is just the sweetest little thing, she loves kids and dogs. I have been contemplating on whether or not to write this review, but now I feel morally obligated to. Over 8 grand in medical bills later... Yes, $8,000!!!!! my frustration has reached its boiling point. We bought a Maltese from California Cuddles back in October. Communication with the breeder "Stacey" prior to that was always on and off. She would often be "on a trip" and sporadic with communication. She would promise pictures of the litter and never follow through. This continued for months. We finally got to see a grainy camera phone picture two days before we were scheduled to go check out the dog. To our surprise, during our visit - we were informed she never truly had the dog in her possession and that he was "actually" from Oklahoma. Her website has no mention of the dogs being bred in Oklahoma. The website implies that they are bred in Vacaville, CA. Red flags, red flags, red flags. I chose to ignore them because by then I already had met the puppy and my judgment was clouded. So we paid $1800 for what we believed to be a "toy" Maltese. Well, he is not. We have a 10 year old Toy Maltese and the dog is 2x her size at only 6 months of age. Here is my favorite - the breeder gave us paperwork from ACA for us to register the supposedly pure bred dog we were about to acquire, and it looked quite official. Then you later find out, any breeder or puppy mill can report to this "not so strict agency" and register said "purebred" based solely on verbal reporting. Well, I have to blame myself for not doing more research. Here is what I found all over the Internet about the difference between ACA and AKC registration: "Most of the dogs supplied by puppy mills or backyard breeders to pet stores are registered with the ACA or the America's Pet Registry, Inc., (APRI) which has less stringent standards for registration than the AKC or UKC." Here is how we fell into a very expensive mistake: The breeder is a friendly lady who is very talkative, sweet and invites you into her place where she has an array of dogs around. She provides you with paperwork, is very organized and seems genuine. She hands you a contract which reads that she will guarantee the health of the puppy and encourages you to go to the vet to get an examination with your money back guaranteed should the dog have any issues WITH THE EXCEPTION OF DENTAL PROBLEMS. We buy our dog and take him to the vet three days later. So here comes the first shock, two of our puppy's teeth were FILED down (you read that right... 8 weeks old and someone had took a file or dremel to shave down his bottom Canines as they were not aligned properly and piercing the roof of his mouth). According to our vet, he was not supposed to be bred as he has a serious malocclusion which runs in families. In lay words, his bottom two larger teeth were growing into his upper gums so someone filed it down so that it would not be noticed. We contacted Stacey and she 100% denied it and said no such thing was ever done. Although she had only recently met the pup, she claimed her sister who bred the dog in OKLAHOMA would never do this and our vet must be mistaken. We proceeded to get a second opinion and the same was said.... "Someone filed your dog's teeth." We even took him to a veterinary orthodontist for a THIRD opinion and the same report is given to us INCLUDING the news that he will need surgeries and orthodontic care. Well... The contract excluded dental issues(interestingly enough) so we are left with a very large bill. It does not stop there however, for about two months now, our dog has had horrible aim and tends to urinate himself.... Mainly landing on the rear of his front paws. After appointments with our vets and today with another specialist, I am now having to schedule yet ANOTHER surgery for our little one. He has been diagnosed with hypospadias. A congenital issue on his penis that leads him to pee himself. He was born with this genetic issue and now that he is 6 months older the issue has become more prominent. So I am here sitting with a new medical bill of $4800. I reflected and thought to myself... Thank God we ACTUALLY RESCUED THIS DOG - and let me make sure people have a chance to know about our experience so they can make a more informed decision and don't make the same mistakes we made. read more

We got our beautiful Maltese puppy Lexi from Stacey at California Cuddles. She was 2.5 lbs at 9 weeks old and was examined by our vet who said she was in perfect health. It's now one month later and she is doing great! It was an easy decision and experience to get our little baby! Our AKC papers came in the mail shortly after just like she said. We had a wonderful experience purchasing a female maltese puppy from Stacey in October of 2018. Stacey sent us pictures and invited us to come meet the pup several weeks before she would be old enough to take home to ensure it would be a good fit. When deciding what day/time to come take her home, Stacey was flexible and communicative. She told us the puppy would be about 5-6lbs fully grown, and now at 6 months of age she is 5.2lbs as expected. The puppy is incredibly sweet, energetic, and adventurous (trainers, vet staff, and daycare staff have all remarked that she's the bravest little dog they've ever met!), so I believe she was well socialized by Stacey and her family during those critical first months. She was also very easy to potty train and hasn't had an accident in our home since she was 12 weeks old. She does bark quite a lot but we anticipate that can eventually be addressed by training. The one challenge that we faced with the puppy was during the first few weeks when we took her home; she was found to have the parasite coccidia which required several vet visits and rounds of medication. However, I suspect this is an inevitable part of puppyhood, so I don't fault Stacey whatsoever. Furthermore Stacey was very helpful with guiding us through getting our pup back to health over email and on the phone. All in all we've had a wonderful experience and we love our puppy so much. I would recommend Stacey to anyone interested in a maltese puppy. read more

I had done a extensive search for a Maltese and came upon this site. This puppy was for my disable sister who unforgettably had to give her prior dog up for adoption as she was unable to care for it needless to say she was heartbroken.
