Well I should have called or done this sooner. There's just so much I didn't want too, I would of lost my cool. I was a new homeowner and he was my first contractor. It's been around 4-5 years. Started off perfect, kitchen tile looked great. Then within the next few months when cleaning floor on hands and knees I could see all the problem areas. Started by hallway, several porcelain tiles cracked at edge of carpet. Went to replace tile found that I could almost pull tile up by hand. Not the appropriate amount of thin set for size of tile, barely any amount and gaps on all edge tiles. That's why they cracked. Second, carpet was never tuck into tile and carpet spike gap. Carpet has been pulling away making a gap and unraveling, had carpet guy try to kick carpet tighter that week, said tile should have been brought to the carpet since it was already down, I did bring this up to Kirk when he was finished, he said it is very common, just need to stretch carpet. Third, several tiles have became uneven, grout lines cracking, tiles lifting edges. Fourth, want to replace carpet with hard flooring but tiles are all cut by a whim, no measuring tape was used, tiles go in and out 1/4-3/8" what kind of tradesman does that? And grout lines are different sizes. And last, Kirk recommended Bostik true color grout. It needs to be scrubbed monthly with soft scrub bleach. If not it will discolored and looks stained. It does clean up but not that low of maintenance as anticipated. Called Bostik rep said product was watered down to much during clean up diluting sealant in grout. Like I said started off great when clean and new. I should have cleaned it and lived with it for a few days before paying. Kirk showed up that night to collect. Based of my job I could not recommend him or his company(sometimes he hires others to do his jobs). read more

Kirk Conforti is a consulate professional. He appreciates the stress tile projects have on families. He and his company go out of their way to make a tiling job as stress-free as possible. We just had Calico back for a second job. They had tiled our upstairs bathrooms and our master shower last year. This year was the demolition and retiling of our front hallway entrance, our kitchen, and breakfast area, a fairly large downstairs portion of our 2500 sq ft house. We planned to be out of the house for a few days, and I fully expected to have to spring for a hotel a few more days, because it was a large job. They had the tile down and ready to walk on by the time we got home. They detailed our house so the dust was minimally noticeable. They came back the next day and grouted. The floor looks so good. Such a reasonable price as well. Kirk is a very knowledgeable craftsman. He loves what he does and it shows. He works hard and has a equally professional crew. I will not hesitate in hiring Calico again. I strongly recommend Kirk Conforti and Calico for all of your tile projects. read more
