This review is SOLELY for Alex. This man is the employee that every business owner wishes they had. I hope his boss sees this. He is completely professional and still so personable! They actually transferred my car from another location so I've never even met the guy but he has been the absolute best with keeping me in the loop with everything and I'm so happy to be getting my car back almost 3 weeks ahead of time. He told me it was a hail Mary but I'm calling it a hail Alex. Absolute fabulous experience all thanks to him, hope I don't have to come back for a long time but will absolutely refer everyone I know to him read more

Darlene at the front desk is a kind and patient professional. She helped make a difficult situation as smooth as possible.

Took 5 days to receive an estimate despite multiple calls from my end. Every other experience I've had at other shops, you'd receive your estimate while you wait, maybe a few hours later at most. They invest resources in calling you for the sell, but not in actually doing the essentials of the job. Save your time and go somewhere else. read more

Darlene was professional polite and polished. Excellent service friendly and fast world class

Eduardo Gutierrez & Darlene are amazing!!!! From the first minute I walked into the door at Caliber Collision I was greeted so nicely & professional! I was very upset & they were very comforting! Eddie went over & beyond to explain the process of repairs & Darlene was so kind & assuring when it came to explaining timing of my car. Thank you so much for all your help! Their level of service, from start to finish, is top-notch. Started with a friendly greeting from Darlene, who helped me get my paperwork started and greatly improved a hectic, stressful start to my day. The communication via text of my car's status was awesome. I didn't feel like I was being kept in the dark about the repairs. Ricardo was very helpful in explaining what to expect and was very knowledgeable. My car was finished two days ahead of schedule, so that was a big plus! read more

Steven, my sales Representative and the front desk team were outstanding. From the moment I walked in to the moment I picked up my keys, they were very friendly and helpful. Steven walked the vehicle with me to ensure I was completely satisfied and reviewed the warranty coverage. Extremely people friendly from the entire team . Thank you National City Caliber Collision! Last year we had to take our car here as it's what our insurance required. We had a hole in our gas tank and we know there were supply chain issues this company had no control over. It's the disrespect and lack of communication for the reason for this negative review. We were told that Eddie was our contact person for anything to do with our car. Eddie's communication was not what he said it would be, his attitude was chauvinistic, and his information was inconsistent and inaccurate at times. We emailed with his supervisor, John K, and he was nice enough, but I wish we never had to take our car here. They don't even know how to properly test a gas tank for holes. They let my wife drive off with our "new" gas tank just for her to turn the car on to fill the tank up the next day and it smelled like gasoline again. There was a hole in the gas tank and they let her drive it home. Eddie said they did all the necessary tests (later on he recanted that they completed one of the tests) but obviously they didn't. Also, we got there at the exact time they told us to and that our car would be ready to go. We sat there for 20 minutes and then I see them peel out in our car. They hadn't put any additional gas in our tank. It was also angering to see their employee haul ads in our car through the massive pot holes on their street. They didn't have any respect for our vehicle. Especially if you're a woman, this place is like every other place that treats women like they can't know anything about cars. Eddie never took real responsibility and the only reason we settled this out is because we never wanted to talk to anyone from this company ever again. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

I was hesitant to go to this location, because I read some poor reviews online. However, I had nothing but great service. Franco was very welcoming and made sure I was comfortable while waiting for the estimator. Ozzie was very attentive, informative, kind and friendly. My car looks amazing! I will be sure to go here again if needed. Due to Covid, there were several employees that were out sick, and parts were delayed. But Ozzie called me several times while my car was in the shop to let me know the progress. I really appreciated that. I was really quite surprised at how great the service was! Fortunately, I did not have any bad experience like some of the reviews that I read. read more

It took Caliber Collision in National City three tries to complete a minor repair.  It should have been done right the first time.  My girlfriend's BMW 530i was barely tapped in the rear. There was no visible damage except on the top surface of the rear bumper. It looked like horizontal hairline cracks in the paint from being flexed by the impact. After all, it's mostly just a plastic shell.  First visit, she dropped the car off on a Monday,  she received a call that the repair was completed, and she picked it up on that Friday.  Assuming that Caliber would do an excellent job, she didn't inspect the repair too closely until she returned home.  We opened the trunk so that we could fully view the repaired area, and immediately we could see that the paint had a heavy orange peel finish. Upon further inspection, we noticed that the weatherstrip seal common to the top forward edge of the rear bumper had large uneven gaps up to a 1/2- inch wide for the entire length, it looked terrible.  She called Caliber and told them that the repair was unacceptable and made arrangements to bring it back.  When she dropped it off at Caliber for the 2nd attempt at doing a quality repair, she spoke to the general manager, Luis. To sum up the conversation, Luis told her that some customers are not picky and do not expect the repair to be as good as new, but some customers do expect the repair to be as good as new. Luis said they would take care of the issues that I have described above, so she left the car with them.  This was on a Thursday, Caliber called on Friday and said it was ready. Unfortunately, we were out of town, so we couldn't pick it up until Monday. We went to pick it up on Monday, and we both immediately noticed that there was a dull film over part of the repaired area that would not wipe off with a moist finger.  We were with Ricardo, and he said it looks like the technician did not completely buff it out, and he would get it buffed out while we waited. Ricardo went to start the car so he could take it back into the shop, but it wouldn't start. He noticed that someone had left the dome light on when they brought the car out front on Friday, so now we had a dead battery.  He apologized and said he didn't feel right, just jumping it and having us drive home. He wanted to charge it overnight. Although it was inconvenient to go back to the rental car company for the third time, I have to give Ricardo kudos for doing what he could. He was genuinely apologetic and even stated that he was embarrassed for the situation and that Caliber would cover the additional car rental charges.  We received a call from Caliber the next afternoon on Tuesday, and they said the car was ready.  We went to pick it up, the paint looked great, the weatherstrip seal installation is all uniform, and it has small even gaps as it should.  Now, after three attempts to do a quality repair, Caliber has succeeded. I spoke to Luis myself this time to complain that it took them three tries to do a quality repair for such a minor repair. I had misunderstood my girlfriend and thought Ricardo was the person that she had talked to on her second visit when she was told some people expect a quality repair and some people don't care so basically the quality of the repair is based on the customer's expectations. So, as I was speaking to Luis, I incorrectly told him that Ricardo had made those statements, but when we were driving home, my girlfriend said no, it was Luis that had made those statements. Well, interestingly, Luis didn't man up while I was talking to him and tell me that it was, he, that had made those statements, not Ricardo.  So, if you don't mind having your car repaired by a company that does not believe a repair should look as good as new and you want to go back and forth three times for a simple repair then go to Caliber. But if you want your car repaired correctly the first time you may want to go to a different body shop. The accuracy of my review has been verified by my girlfriend as I was not present for the first visit or the second drop off. read more

Front desk staff was an absolute pleasure. Upon arrival, I was welcomed and got all my questions answered. My Service advisor was Eduardo Gutierrez, he is an excellent communicator, and from the start he said it would take about 15 days for the job to be finished, and I had a concern about the paint not matching the blue undertone or the original paint, and Eduardo said "it will be exactly the same!" And it was, the paint was matched properly, and the car looks as if nothing happened. During the process, I got updated often via phone and text, and the overall experience was smooth, delivering a great repair experience. read more

My car getting messed up is the most frustrating and scary thing for me, but the team at Caliber Collision made it quick and easy. Hello all. I've repaired my vehicle here in the past, and everything went amazing. So I decided to come back and have my much newer vehicle repaired here since it suffered rear end damage earlier this month. I spoke to "Alex" who was the initial adjuster and he was amazing. He updated me every step of the way until he went on a leave of absence. And by that time my vehicle was ready to be picked up. At first glance I noticed what appeared to be white residue all over the area of repair. I assumed it had been scratched or not painted properly. But another adjuster had let me know it was white wax from them buffing the area. This white compound was in between the tail lights, panels and even where the back up camera was, blurring visibility. There also had been severe scratching that was not there when dropped off. I hand wash and take really good care of my vehicle. They had let me know they could address these concerns in an hour and have them cleaned up. Yes they buffed out the scratches but still very much white compound all over the vehicle. After I came back I was extremely still dissatisfied and expressed that I did not feel comfortable picking up the vehicle and they told me I had to accept the vehicle. This was Monday 9/16 it is now 9/18 and after leaving a horrible review on Calibers website I had the gentlemen named "Luis" reach out to try and mitigate the situation. Not only did he make the situation worse with his aggressive tone, he seemed to not care about customer satisfaction or not taking accountability. Instead we went back and forth and no resolution has been set in place. I had told him their works looks like it wasn't double checked for quality of assurance and that seemed to trigger him. I came here because of the excellent reviews and from my past experience, seems like they went downhill. I would remain vigilant while doing business here, and if possible do NOT leave your vehicles here. The quality of work is not up to standard. Please avoid this shop at all costs. read more

I had my car repaired and everyone at this location made the experience a great one. Now I've been to other locations in the past and the quality and customer service didn't come close to this location. Everyone from the general manager to the front desk. It did take a few extra days to get my car back, however Ricardo made sure it was being returned with only the best quality work. Wow, talk about mixed reviews? Not mine, I would use Caliber again, if need be. My insurance company recommended them, which made me a bit leery, since usually such recommendations are to low-ball bidders, thus saving the insurance company significant money. No complaints about Caliber! The office staff was friendly and accommodating, and the $5,500 repairs seem perfect. And I'm picky. Oh, I forgot to mention, the car was promised by a certain date. My wife and I had a long-scheduled vacation which would get us back home by the promised completion date. Interestingly, the car was finished early, and I got the call to pick it up while in San Francisco on Fisherman's Wharf. I asked Caliber to store the car on premises until we could pick it up, as promised. They agreed. read more

I just don't understand why they charge so much money for a crappie service. And if your planning on taking your car here make sure you take out everything or take pictures of everything you leave on your car they go through your personal items. A little tip for caliber collision since you guys already charge allot just add another $10 so you guys can clean the mess that you make. I'll leave some pictures of what they "fix". My wife's Toyota Prius suffered damage all along the passenger's side. Caliber Collision was able to take the car in the very next morning. And have a pretty accurate time estimate.
