Just a regular truck no bells and whistles but what makes it special is it was my dad's last truck. He and my son would take rides together just the two of them. When dad got sick he asked me to make sure my son got the truck. He did and we've kept it in great mechanical order, but the white paint lost its luster and I just happened to put a nice dent in the right rear quarter panel. I promised to get it fixed and Gerber was the only real choice. When they estimated the fixes, we talked about the old and new paint and well we decided to fix more. To say the truck looks amazing really doesn't capture the change in it or in our love for it. I know its just a truck but there are trucks and there are trucks. This one will be with us forever and the care, respect and craftsmanship that Gerber brought to the work was incredible. Thanks to the team for treating us and our rides so well.

After being told multiple times that there were two claims on my vehicle that needed…read moreto be fixed and getting estimates for both they only did one and when I received a call saying it was done I was informed that only one claim was complete after asking. Had to wait another week for my car to be fixed. On top of that, I told multiple employees that I had received a check from my insurance company that I would need to pay them on top of the deductible. I told them this on multiple phone calls, in person when getting the estimate and when paying for and picking up the car. The did not understand what I was saying. I told them I owed them $900 rather than the $500 for the one claim. They would not let me pay it. In three weeks I get a call saying I owed them money, money I was more than willing to pay. I inform the caller that I told multiple people this and tried to pay it when picking up the car. The caller said "I doubt that". The caller was not a part of any of these conversations and I had them with a family member present that remembers me telling employees this. The repairs look fine but for customer service alone I would avoid at all costs.

It seems like these days it's hard to find a good trustworthy body shop or mechanic, most of them are chains or just give you the impression that you're just another customer that they'll get to when they can work you in, Kettering Collision is the kind of place that makes you feel more like a friend than just another customer. The body work they did is really amazing, I mean you can't tell that anything even happened, it looks as good as new. I used to sell cars for a while quite a few years ago and you can usually tell when a car has had body work (over-spray, tape marks, etc), I couldn't find anything like that on my car, awesome job! After I picked up my car I had some problems with a trim piece, they promptly ordered a new piece and put it on, no questions, they just wanted to make sure they did a good job. To complete this story of really outstanding customer service, a few days ago I was changing out my license plates and twisted the heads off of the bolts (totally unrelated to my first problem), I stopped by Kettering Collision to see how much they would charge to help me get the broken bolts out, they told me to back my car up right on the spot and took care of it free of charge!! I honestly didn't know what to say, you just don't encounter such above and beyond customer service these days! I figured the very least I could do was write a really stellar review and try to send them some business. You get what you pay for…read more I spent $25,000 dollars of work restoring a barn find car. And agreed to everything they recommended needed attention. Upon picking up the car. The brake caliper failed a day later and had to be towed back. Expectedly I was angry, flukes happen and I get it but the failure happened on a part that is responsible to my safety. Even though I lost my temper at Dalton, he didn't yell back rather kept his composure and said he would prioritize my issue. Later that day Ricky the manager from Foreign Exchange gave me a call back apologized and accepted responsibility for the parts failure at no charge to me. THIS!!! Is what I look for in a mechanic! Everyone makes mistakes but not everyone stands behind their work and makes sure that you have a good customer experience getting things right. I will continue to do business with Foreign Exchange because they prioritize professionalism, believe in the quality of their work and when things go awry they warranty their work instead of putting the onus back on you.

My fiance has been having a lot of problems with her car (hood won't latch correctly, interior door…read morehandles all but gone, windshield wipers are pretty much done, the car is ate up what can I say), and decided to stop in late in the day yesterday to see if they could help. They were closing in 15 minutes but took the time to look over her car. They ended up fixing her wipers AND putting a bungee on her hood because "they didn't feel right letting her go with the hood and wipers in that condition." On top of that, they offered to drive north of town today to get the hood latch part from a dealership, right before they closed for the day again (the truck doesn't get there until 4:00, they offered to drive up at 4:30, come back, and install the part). EVEN MORE AMAZING WAS THE FACT THAT SHE WAS CHARGED NOTHING, EVEN AFTER OFFERING TO PAY FOR THE TIME THEY SPENT LAST NIGHT! Of course she'll have to pay for the part and labor to fix the hood, but all I can say is WOW. As someone who works in customer service/sales I am blown away. I haven't the faintest idea what kind of work they do otherwise, but they get 5 stars for being the best customer service story I've heard in a long time. BTW, I'm told that they are known for their work on Corvettes, so much so that people from Kentucky and Michigan come down to have them do the work.
