This place features local artists who create unique, creative, special and important pieces of art. They are often open for the community to come view the current display, and never charge a fee. There are also individual art spaces that people rent to create their work. I have met a few artists who were there working while I was viewing some paintings. It's also a space where people gather for writing workshops, tai chi and other events. Outside there is street parking right out front, and places to lock up your bike. There is also a tiny library stand, where you can borrow a book. Take one and leave one for someone else to read. Enjoy this gallery monthly for a different experience each time.

Some shops are empty and others are being remodeled and opening again. I visited on a Friday (Valentine's Day) and it was pretty steady but not packed, I could find a place to sit down and relax by myself if I wanted to (and I did!) Shop selection is meh, I went into a few but didn't find anything to purchase which is just fine by me - I needed a place to hang out that was warm and this was it! Bubble tea, Caribou and smoothies to choose from - I didn't see a food court but I wasn't particularly looking.

I feel like Ridgedale has been one of the consistent malls (as far as growing up in MN and seeing a lot of malls struggle to keep stores) that never felt like it was closing. I do wish they would decorate more especially for the holidays. They have the Santa pop up in the middle of the mall which is cute but that's its own experience. Also a somewhat better food court would be cool, but there are a ton of options for food outside of the mall/in the area. They do host cool events from time to time like the traveling Hello Kitty Cafe, which is cool.

There's no longer a shortage of recognizable brand-name stores, which makes it feel more like a true shopping destination again. There is a mix of luxury stores and every-day shopping which brings good value. That said, there are still a few odd, lesser-known shops scattered throughout with inconsistent or unusual hours, which can be a little confusing. The food options are decent. The traditional food court is a bit of a letdown, but there are better standalone options throughout the mall like Rustica Bakery, Pezzo Pizza, Yumi Sushi, People's Organic, and others. Having Kowalski's grocery store on-site is also a big plus and adds convenience. Entertainment-wise, there's more to do now with options like an escape room and Dave & Buster's. The mall is spacious, never feels overly crowded, and has plenty of parking, which makes it easy and stress-free to visit. Overall, the updates are a very welcome change. Southdale feels revitalized, easier to navigate, and much more enjoyable than it was a few years ago.

It is a walkway that is lined by bars, restaurants with sidewalk seating, art, small, independent shops, bountiful greenery, it's always been closed to motor vehicles and restricted to buses and taxis, which has always been a nice advantage, especially in a downtown district. It is not as impressive as it once was, pre-COVID, but still a nice place to visit! One complaint from everyone is that there are no public restrooms, so f you need to go, you need to stop in to like a store like Target, or stop in at one of the many coffee shops and eateries for lunch or coffee...well, possibly that's what the intention is that there are no public restrooms...Hmmm.... I recently visited on a Sunday, my first time after so many years, to visit the Jackalope Art Fair, a downtown Minneapolis Street Festival, which started on 7th street down through Nicollet Mall and had an enjoyable time! I was already prepared ahead of time, regarding the public restrooms and parking, so I had no problems! One stop when you are here that's definitely a must is to check out the Mary Tyler Moore statue on 7th! The actual place and the statue is posed like how she did her beret toss on her show. I was walking around here at 9am and I personally only saw characters who noticed me. As a New Yawker, I am used to walking every where and instead I decided to use the skyway towards my hotel. Outside of that is the largest collection of quarter slot rides that I know of. They accept card payment or lets your kids pretend and don't pay to turn them on at all. Then there's a train ride and rideable animals for a fee. In Scheels they have a beautiful aquarium, a fun shooting range for a small fee and a ferris wheel that's only $1 per rider. Then upstairs they have a nice food court with clean restrooms and a variety of food options. I wish all malls were like this.

5 Stars for Unexpected Wonders at Eden Prairie Center!…read more Eden Prairie Center gets 5 stars from me after an Easter photoshoot turned into a fun adventure. I wasn't even planning on going to the mall, but it was worth the trip. What really surprised me was Scheels. The size of it is impressive, but the fact they had a real aquarium and a Ferris wheel?! That's a whole other level! It's cool to see a store go above and beyond with entertainment and attractions. I also loved how the staff were very helpful pointing me in the right direction. I didn't shop at any of the other stores so I can't comment on those, but overall it was nice. It was a beautiful day and I just enjoyed walking around and taking it all in. If you need to get out of the house, stretch your legs and be surprised by a unique shopping experience, Eden Prairie Center is a must visit. Scheels alone is worth the trip! Win for a fun unexpected outing.

It can be a pain to get in and out and there can be pretty claustrophobic parking at times but it's still a good Plaza and well-designed and I like it.

Since my last visit, I was pleased to see that they have opened up the back room of the building. Style Society is a mix of Patina, thrift, home goods and plants all mashed into one spot. This is a great shop for gifts or if you are seeking to swap out furniture or purchase vintage kitchen wear. From refurbished coffee tables to sofas and dressers, there is something for everyone here. There is a plant section, clothes, candles, vintage mugs, trivets, saucepans, etc. If you name it, you can probably find it here. During December, the shop is seasonally decorated with ornaments and various other trinkets. The shop has nice sections to the store broken out by item with good organization - not too overwhelming considering the vast selection. There's usually really nice incense burning when you enter the space or candles. The interior is really clean and the staff is friendly. Most items are priced within reason yet there are a few that can be spendy. Find some items within your budget and you'll love it here.
