Yoga Loft Vaughan Just North of Rutherford on Islington is the most awkward yoga studio I have been…read moreto. There is definitely some problem with the whole set up especially it is going to be a studio that offers mostly hot yoga classes. In order to get to the change room and washroom, you have to walk through the practice room itself. So I was dragging my change of clothes, my purse, my mat through all these students lying in Sivasana waiting for the class to begin. There is only 1 change room.... an unisex change room. There are 2 washroom/shower combinations, so if you want to change into your yoga clothing, you need to go into one of those to change. I didn't realize until, a guy walked into the change room. I can imagine how it is going to be when the studio get busy.... lining up for everything with the guys? There are lockers in the change room for valuable, the front will provide you with the keys. Grand Opening Specials $5 per class, maybe you can drop by and see for yourself... just remember not to walk around in the change room naked! :)

The aroma smells and the heated room within seconds relaxed me.. The welcoming and interaction with owner Jennifer and her team is and has been a wonderful experience. I am a new to yoga and they have helped with my beginning poses even though I've taken some of the intermediate/advanced classes. Jennifer herself at the 5:30 pm core class yesterday took the time to show us how to build up to some of the more difficult poses they she was displaying which I thought was really awesome!! I'm excited to continue with the hot yoga at Yoga Loft and wanted to share my gratitude with them by posting a review on my thoughts of their services. Keep up the amazing work that you do for us and I thank you. Lisa Rapisardi

They are located in a house setting which gives it a quaint feel. There are 2 Podiatrist/Chiropodist that work out of BHS. I met with Dr. Vanessa Brunato (Chiropodist), she was very pleasant and easy to relate with. She explained what was going on during the procedure and offered me tips on what I can do to correct my issues. I also found she was extremely gentle, ensuring I was not in pain and comfortable during the procedure which I really appreciated. I noticed everyone else there was very nice, the relaxed atmosphere really puts you at ease, great bunch. Now that I know I have this option, I look forward to returning for my maintenance visit which works better for me rather than going for a pedicure.

The classes are small so that even if you are a beginner the teachers give you more attention than if you are crammed into a studio with 30 other yogi. The added attention for me has made it an inviting experience since I am just starting to get into yoga and Pilates. I have also had a massage by the owner who is really knowledgeable and spends the time to show you whats going on with your body with her friend "Mr. Bojangles", a model of the human skeleton complete with bones, muscles and fascia. She explains everything and you completely understand why your back or neck have been so sore. From then on she works her magic to relieve the stress points. BUT massage alone isn't the answer it includes your posture, strength and flexibility. Balance Health Studio connects the dots with their Chiropody (foot specialist), yoga, massage and Pilates. Its the total package all in one cute zen-like retreat where the team is always professional, courteous and pleasant. What a wonderful addition to Nobleton where word of mouth will have people will be coming from far and wide York County to experience this new unique escape from our crazy lives.

Many of the instructors are willing to guide you in the right direction and advise you about what classes you should be taking, and what areas you should be targeting. There is a lack of space in the seating area and entrance for people waiting to get into the next class. Also hope to see more classes scheduled during the week focused on Yin. There are ample parking spots but is usually hard to find due to the location being close to the mall and restaurants. The practice room is spacious, soothing and dark fitting a relaxed ambiance instantly putting you at ease.

Parking - there are lots of parking but may not be exactly in front of the building. Instructor - the instructor i had was really good! Studio - they only have one studio, got hardwood floor, nice heating panels hanging on top... Changeroom - no lockers .... it's clean...but maybe more benches would be great, or move them away from the shelf, so people changing at the bench won't block people from getting their bags out of the shelf.

Have to be honest and say this studio is just ok. I'm trying a two month groupon while searching…read morefor a studio I love enough to commit to. The good stuff - the teachers and staff. Everyone has been welcoming and friendly. The teachers give off great vibes and there is some variety in teaching style. One of the features here I appreciate I haven't seen in other studios is the use of consent cards/button things. You grab one and flip it to either - ok with hands on adjustments or no thanks. This is essential and a much less awkward way of asking for hands off. The not so great - There is very little use of music in the classes! Many teachers use it but it's very background instrumentalish and many don't use it at all! I personally like a great soundtrack to my yoga to keep me going. The general style of the classes is not power enough for me. There is actually very little variety in classes ... moksha or moksha flow is 90% of the classes and neither feels like enough of a workout for me. Can say it's more classic yoga but more variety with more power would be great. There also isn't that flow I'm looking for in classes - My favorite teachers provide seamless flows from one position to the other. More not so great - the space itself. This studio is sitting at a high price point and just doesn't compare to other studios in the same bracket. The main area is small and the change rooms are tiny. There are no lockers at all which to me is a deal breaker. The yoga room itself seems to have permanently sticky floor issues. They are definitely cleaning between classes I think it's just the quality of the wood. So this won't be the studio for me although depending on your tastes you may love it. I enjoyed Bob Pearson's class the most.

When my studio at Applewood shut down, I took a few years off to try different hobbies. Last July I purchased a $50 Groupon voucher for a 60 day trial at Moksha Yoga Square One. This was perfect as the location is fairly close to my house. The studio itself is beautiful, bright and for the most part has a great concept and layout. When there are busy classes, the entry way and where you go to put your coat is extremely crowded and does not have a great "flow" - no pun intended ;). This isn't a make or break deal though, just practice patience and you'll be fine- ha! The change room door for the women's change room though is the most unpractical thing I have ever seen in my life. It should honestly be removed and the hinges should be on the left side OR they need to make it a pull door because I cannot tell you how many times I've got whacked in the head. Sometimes they keep the door open and it's almost impossible to navigate around the change room as the door blocks the entry way to the benches. Aside from the small entry way with the shoes and this change room situation, the overall studio is fantastic. It's EXTREMELY clean, smells clean and you even see them clean (plus!). I actually don't mind showering there after my morning classes and go to work because I am comfortable enough in the facility. The staff are friendly , helpfully and socialize with you! I agree that sometimes with larger classes that sometimes the instructors won't know everyone by first name BUT there are many instructors who have asked for my name or recognize me and engage in conversation- so, I don't necessarily think that larger classes = no personal touch. Most instructors do make an effort. They have a great schedule in place with a variety of classes in place. Morning, afternoon, evenings and weekends which is great for those who have the Unlimited all you can sweat pass. My favourite classes thus far have been the Wednesday / Friday morning classes with Indy, the Live Music Monday evening classes (AN ABSOLUTE MUST !!) and the Sweat, Stretch and Unwind classes on Wednesday evenings. The studio also has constant workshops, events and much more happening to add a sense of community to their location- which I love! They are super engaged and have some pretty unique events! Sometimes the busy classes get extremely packed and you find yourself getting a little comfortable with your neighbour ;) , so if personal space is an "issue" for you, perhaps try being at the back of the class towards the windows OR come during "slower" classes.
