I feel torn writing this review. My mother in law had used this flower shop for her parents' funerals in past years and she decided to try them again. The first time we went in there on a Thursday to pick out the flower arrangements we wanted, there was a woman who helped us and was nice enough. After thinking about it some more, the next morning (Friday) my husband and I went back there to try to order another flower arrangement for Sunday's wake. There was a different woman there whom we asked if she could add that to our order from the day before. She told us there was no way they would be able to do that arrangement with such short notice. Not only did she turn us away after seeing how upset we were, her attitude was very abrupt and cold. She did not apologize or offer something else. We left there feeling pretty terrible. I think it was ridiculous to turn away more business, especially considering the fact that wakes and funerals are usually "short notice" regardless. We were able to find another florist who was more than willing to accommodate our request and even mentioned that it was weird that this place refused to do it claiming they didn't have enough notice. I will say though that the flowers we got from Caldwell Floral Elegance were very beautiful and done exactly as we had wanted which is the reason for the three stars. If they were willing to help us out with the other arrangement I would have been happy to rate them higher. But unfortunately that's not how it went. read more

First and foremost, I get that it's Valentine's Day. I get that it's one of, if not the busiest floral delivery day of the year, but I have never been so appalled by bad customer service in my life! And to think this isn't my first negative experience with this florist... My boyfriend ordered a specific bouquet off of TeleFlora but what I received was completely different. When I sent him a picture of the arrangement, he was shocked to see it wasn't remotely what he ordered or paid for. My arrangement was supposed to have 18 roses in it, what I received, though very pretty, was mostly wildflowers and fillers. I called the florist directly and spoke to Danka, who was very put off and wanted to know why I "didn't like" the arrangement. I did like them! But it's not what my boyfriend ordered or paid for! She told me that basically, for what she received monetarily from TeleFlora there was "no way I was getting 18 roses" and that they made me "what they thought I'd like". HOW IS THIS MY FAULT? How is your business dealing with a third party company any concern of mine? Simple solution: "I apologize you didn't receive what you ordered. We needed to supplement the arrangement with this, this and this. We'd like to make it up to you with a credit to your card or a gift card for a future arrangement." Nope. Instead she continued to argue with me and offered zero compromise or satisfaction. Just about the worst way you could handle a customer whether it's Valentine's Day or any day. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

Revised review: I posted a harsh review of this business when I ordered flowers for a friend for Valentine's Day and what arrived didn't match the picture of what I ordered. The florist owner called me after my negative review and apologized repeatedly. She also answered all my questions. (Q. Why didn't they have orange roses? A. They only receive red roses near Valentine's Day. etc.) And many of her explanations were simply that the pandemic is ongoing. She was sincere and made sense and helped me realize somethings. It's still a pandemic! Supply chains are still disrupted. If you want flowers that look like the picture on the website - CALL THE FLORIST and see if they actually have them in stock. Small businesses are struggling; this is a good time to be extra kind. read more

I chose this florist based on Yelp reviews, not having sent flowers in a long time & wishing to go local rather than a web based florist, to surprise a friend at work (in Parsippany) for her birthday. I found a beautiful bouquet and discovered it was an FTD bouquet that the florist sold. I then set up an online acct. with the florist & ordered the small FTD Splendid Day Bouquet for $52.99 plus $4.55 tax and $12.00 shipping (total $69.54) & received an email confirmation. Shortly afterwards, I received a phone call from the florist shop (Carla, I think?) saying she only received the last 4 digits of my CC. I gave her the rest of the information required and asked when the flowers would be delivered; she told me early Monday. At that point I was impressed with the florist's customer service and was quite satisfied. Monday at 1 p.m. I had yet to hear from my friend and called the florist to double check delivery. I was told by the owner that there was no such delivery listed on the board. When I explained what happened, she said she knew of the order but it was not actually placed, my CC had not been charged, and the woman with whom I spoke was out making deliveries and would be back in about 20 mins. After much dismay, she assured me Carla would call me back. When Carla phoned, she tried to explain that there are often problems with FTD orders and although we had spoken on Saturday, the order didn't go through. Again I expressed my dismay. I had not only a phone call to confirm, but an email as well. The best they could do was to send something then and take a little $ off. I do not understand why no one would have contacted me. They seemed to think that because my card had not been charged, everything was ok. The fact that I had to call to find out the delivery never happened is the most upsetting part. As is customary with online orders, they were going to substitute a bit and would take some $ off as I requested. No problem. Then they sent me a photo of the substitution, which looked NOTHING like the original bouquet. When I asked how much $ off, she told me it would be $55 plus $10 shipping. I reiterated that the original order was $52.99 but she kept insisting it was $64.99 even though I had the confirmation and that was the price listed on THEIR website. We could not come to an agreement and I was deeply disappointed in their lack of communication and customer service. I do not feel what I asked for was unreasonable and do not feel they made much of an effort to set things right. I declined the bouquet, went to Shop Rite in Parsippany on my way home, had a GORGEOUS bouquet created by Eileen and drove to Rockaway to personally deliver it to my friend's home instead of her having it to enjoy all day at work. Again, my main issue is that if I had not called to check on the order, this never would have been discovered until I noticed no charge on my Visa a month later. Poor customer service all around. Additionally, if the business knows that they experience issues with FTD bouquet orders (and that they apparently are different than if I ordered another bouquet on the florist's website, why would they not be diligent with following through to assure success? read more

DO NOT ORDER FLOWERS FOR SOMEONE FROM THIS PLACE... I sent a Get Well bouquet to a friend after hip surgery (which the florist was aware of). I do not live in NJ so I got the name of this business from Google and the reviews seemed positive. When I called, I asked for a low, mushroom cap bouquet in a vase. I was told they had one that was a combination of hydrangeas, roses and lilies. I responded, great, sounds lovely.... My friend sent a text thanking us for the flowers and happened to include a picture. I couldn't believe my eyes....it was a HOLIDAY bouquet with mostly greens, a couple of roses that were fully opened, carnations, alstromeria and other filler flowers. There may have been one lily, but it wasn't in view in the photo. I was completely misled. It was nothing like they described on the phone and certainly not worth the money I paid for it. I called the shop back and they told me there was nothing they could do so they would go pick them up if my friend didn't like the arrangement. To which I said, well that's even more embarrassing, please don't do that. THEY CALLED HER AND TOLD HER THEY WERE COMING TO PICK THEM UP!!!!!!! I was mortified. I am the customer, not her... They actually went to pick the arrangement back up even after I told them not to. Then they refused to pick up the phone when I called. They did credit my money back, but I am embarrassed that my friend who just had hip surgery and can't move, was told to give back the delivery!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, TERRIBLE ARRANGEMENTS, NEVER USE THIS BUSINESS!!! read more

Dozen red roses delivered for my birthday. 10 out of the 12 roses heads dropped within 2 days. I called the florist to share my feedback, I was told they would call me back. The next day I followed up with the florist as they never called me back and was told in a very matter of fact manner that "the owner" stated there were no problems with other orders so she would not either reimburse or replace. How disappointing and what poor customer service. Will not ever use this florist again! read more

My mother-in-law purchased an item from caldwell's floral elegance online for my grandmother's wake. She purchased a $100 flowering bush online, and what showed up at my grandmothers wake was a ceramic pot of petunias. She was absolutely horrified when I thanked her for the petunias. It was not what she had ordered and was embarrassed that her name was posted on a card on those flowers. $100 and they brought petunias?!? This was not only disrespectful but completely inappropriate that this company did not fulfill what she had ordered, or at least call to tell her a change was necessary. I don't usually care enough to write reviews, but this was completely wrong and incompetent on this company's part. read more
