    killer pool!
    Amanda S.

this is, in my opinion, one of the nicest Y's in the treasure valley. it has something for everyone--exercise, stuff for the kids, and a killer pool area! Only West Y would rival it with their aquatics center. Staff are always friendly, volunteers are awesome, and everyone makes you feel like family! Definitely check it out if you haven't yet!

More enthusiasm from workers because I felt uncomfortable. Other than that, it was okay and still had fun.

We are considering the VIP membership and I returned this morning just to confirm I wanted to join. Eric, who is a fitness trainer, and a young lady at the front desk offered assistance today. I completed a complimentary facility workout and used the massage chairs as pre & post workout tools. I will be joining the VIP membership as it provides access to nationwide PF locations. If you live or are visiting in the Nampa, ID area, give this location a try because they provide a nice facility with good customer service, especially Colbie & Eric who greet customers with smiles and welcoming personalities. Large facility with nearly double of all strength equipment, multiple rooms to train in a semi private atmosphere, tons of cardio equipment, relatively clean...acceptable for a gym charging this affordable rate, and nice locker room so long as you bring your own essentials to get ready. Overall, great facility, so long as you're not power/strength training; although plenty of weight for the general health and fitness crowd.

So I heard good things about Planet Fitness... so I looked over their site and I was going to sign up and then this happened. As you can see in the first picture, it says there isn't a pay today fee, the membership fee is 22.99 and yearly fee is 39.00. So I put my information in and then I get to a page that tells me when they will charge me... then this is the second picture of the REAL costs. If it says I wouldn't have to pay a one time fee, then why am I having to pay 13.66. When it clearly states the one time fee is 0.00 That is why people do not trust anyone anymore. They just want to work out and you have to mess it up. Most people would just pay and not put 2 to 2 together.

It is nice to be part of a gym where everyone (staff/members) appreciate the equipment and takes very good care of them. I previously had a membership and at a larger gym. Here, you will notice that there are no unsupervised kids running amock. They are adding another work out area adjacent to the treadmill/elliptical. This gym provides me with a quiet work out area with all the equipment I will ever need. Once you get used to the gym you will probably meet some frequent customers who are willing to let you in on their work out secrets...

As soon as I walked in, I could feel a negative vibe. Nobody talks to each other. Where I come…read morefrom, the gym is like a party. This place was a morgue. The front desk staff were very nice, but the clientele felt like the inmates at Leavenworth prison. Particularly one short, overly tattooed, white runt with spiky hair, about 40, wearing wireless earbuds so he can't hear all the negative things people are saying about him, who sits on machines for 20 minutes texting and not allowing anybody else to use them. Some guy finally said something to him and he acted like he was being the jerk. What a tiny, sad life he must have, always trying to prove he's "tough" like a child. Probably got bullied in elementary school and has been taking it out on the world ever since. Then the guy tried to use the other lap pull down machine, and the second guy using that one gave him an attitude about working in on it too! Even though he asked him in a very friendly way. It suddenly dawned on me that the regular members at this gym are purposely harassing new people because the gym is probably overcrowded and they want to intimidate people so they won't come back. This should be a great concern to the manager because he's going to lose a lot of business running a gym full of jerks. I would suggest hiring somebody that doesn't use the gym to pose as a new member and try to work in with some of the muscleheads in there to see if this is a strategy of theirs. When I was leaving, I saw the guy who got into an argument with him complain to the front desk, but they didn't even offer to take a report or show any interest. If that was my gym and there were clowns with short man's complex treating people like that, I would cancel their membership.

I didn't want a contract because I knew I would only need the gym a few months out of the year when it is too cold for me to run in the mornings. The only stipulation is you have to physically go in to the gym and fill out a cancellation form 10 days before they bill you again. I did go in to cancel my membership in December because I hate fighting the first of the year "rush at the gym" and it was easy peasy. Filled out the short form, didn't get the "hard sell" from the staff to try to keep me either. And, wonder of wonders they actually stopped billing me as promised! (Unlike Gold's Gym a few years back who "lost my cancellation paperwork" and blamed me for not having a copy of it). 2. No frills. They have decent equipment & free tanning. I never used the tanning bed but it was nice to have the option. I would have liked if they had a few standard stair steppers and not just the 2 Jacob Ladders machines. Good weight machines, good treadmills, good bikes and elliptical machines (although a couple of those are in pretty rough shape). They don't have classes or classrooms but they do offer personal training. 3. Open 24 hours. Use your code to get in the door. It's that easy. 4. Only $25 a month! Plus tax. Overall the place is clean and not overcrowded. I will definitely become a member again in the future!

It's now Sept 2016, 3 years later, I was a Groupon whore, always looking for a good deal, Crossfit2C ad appeared like countless of other times, this time I said "What do I have to lose, let's try it". Realize I had no expectations other than to make a fool of myself as a gym misfit. I am a person who researches before I decide on something, I signed up at a wimp, with no clue of what it all entailed, I may have discouraged myself if I had. 1. To my surprise the first weeks is all 1-ON-1 with a certified trainer, learning fundamentals, focusing on stretching, warming up, and new movements. I didn't feel overwhelming awkward and alone. What a sigh of relief! 2. I've never seen a gym where strangers are encouraging and cheering you to finish a workout and/or accomplish a personal achievement. An atmosphere that is conducive to growing and having fun, they call it a "Crossfit community". You feel a sense of commitment to your newly found Crossfit family. The best of part of my experience, is the new friendships I've never had before with other females, who share similar interests like running races, hiking and hanging out for coffee/tea dates. 3. Last, but not least, this is a kid and pet friendly environment. Folks bring their well-behaved pets to sit and watch. No such thing at traditional gyms. I've been a member at this box for 2 1/2 years, there has been positive recent changes, to name one, promotional activities inside and outside the gym.
