Since Carnivero did not participate in the event, we decided to make the trip to their nursery to see what they had available. Just like our first previous visit, we thoroughly enjoyed browsing their impressive selection of carnivorous plants. We were amazed by how healthy, vibrant, and beautiful all of their plants looked. I completely lost track of time while carefully admiring and inspecting their fascinating collection of exotic carnivorous plants. During our visit, I picked up a tiny Tillandsia, commonly known as an air plant or sky plant. This evergreen flowering plant is incredibly low-maintenance, absorbing moisture and nutrients from the air, making it an easy and interesting addition to any plant collection. Overall, it was another satisfying visit to Carnevero. We enjoyed admiring the wide variety of exotic and new plants they have for sale. It is always worth the drive to this hidden gem outside the Austin area.

As a first-time customer, we had no means of knowing that the outdoor plants shouldn't be brought inside for purchase. There was no clear signage or anything on the door that would help guide us to where we needed to go or the process to check out. We didn't appreciate how snappy Angie got with us when we made the mistake of bringing the items indoors for purchase. I had also grabbed a few items that were reserved for other customers (again no clear signage or roping was used to differentiate the areas where reserved items and up for sale items were). Again, we got a bit of a scolding from the owner because of this honest mistake. I believe with more clear signage and directions for new customers, a lot of this confusion can be avoided to help make it a better shopping experience for all. Ultimately though sales is not only about what you have to sell, but how you sell it.

I love that you're able to place an order online and go pick it up when they're open. When I went to get my order, the owner said she didn't love the look of a couple four inch starter plants I'd ordered so she sized them up to gallons for the same price, which I think is excellent customer service. I do think some of the instructions might be overwhelming/confusing to someone if it's busy or you're in a hurry and just skim over them, but I get why they have their process and it probably helps with efficiency, avoiding damage/contamination, and keeping costs to a minimum, which benefits the customer because their prices are phenomenal. I will happily follow some hand written directions when the result is I can fill my entire garden bed for less than a hundred dollars, yes please. I love the selection of native plants. I love supporting a local business vs a big box store. I love that the owners are knowledgeable and obviously care deeply about what they do. Def worth checking out soon! I've been using this tractor supply for horse and pet food and supplies since it opened. In the…read morepast couple of years management has gotten terrible here. 90% of the time I shop there they are out of something. Shelves are never stocked. Bags of food are often ripped and taped back and sold. Cashiers need better training. They dont even know how to look up the price of items. Saturday I went to buy square bales of coastal and the cashier said they were out. "When will you get more in?" We don't know. We've been out for a couple months and they never know when a shipment will come in. They just show up. If this is true that's ridiculous. And I can't imagine the corporate office would let their locations hang out to dry like that with restocking. In Lockhart, keeping merchandise stocked is the absolute biggest problem and there really are no excuses for that. I plan to buy elsewhere from now on.

I wrote an email asking for a specific piece of siding with specific dimensions in hardiplank…read moreinstead of masonite., and got a response that said "we have all the standard sizes of hardieplank in stock now" from Dean Apparently it was MY mistake to take that as an affirmative response, because when I drove an hour out of my way to go pick up the board with those dimensions they told me that they only has hardieboard not hardieplank, that it would never work in place of masonite, they didn't have that size in wood either and when I showed them their own email from an hour previous Dean raised his voice and said "I said Standard Sizes!" Apparently he couldn't be bothered to read two whole sentences of email and only read the one half of the word "hardie" and I was supposed to understand that he had disregarded the rest of it. Listen: Maybe if you are a builder or something that is going to buy 2000 board feet they will give you the time of day. But even then I wouldn't want to support their dishonesty. As an individual: Avoid!
