Got my very first piercing on my navel done here by Estrella back in February. She was very nice throughout the service and made me feel comfortable. However, I later discovered on my own that I don't have the correct anatomy for a navel piercing. She even marked my navel with a marker and made it seem like it wouldn't be a problem to pierce me. She pierced my stomach instead of piercing through my navel. I would not recommend getting pierced here. read more

I walked into this place once in the last year, on a whim to see what kind of ear jewelry selection they had available as I was thinking of re-piercing my ears. The vibe was chill there and a knowledgeable piercer spoke with me about my options because I eventually wanted to stretch my ears to a size 4g. I finally called ahead of last weekend to ask if I needed to make an appt or could do a walk-in to get my ears pierced, Zero answered the phone and let me know his Sunday schedule. He greeted me kindly, was very sanitary and hygienic in his practices as evident by his wearing of a mask and asking me to use hand sanitizer after I had provided by ID and signed the paperwork. The process was relatively painless and he is gentle with his hands. He is quick and counts down for you so you aren't surprised by the prick of the needle. In 5-10 minutes he did both ears with little bleeding seen. I appreciated that he even had a face shield on since our faces would be in close proximity of one another during the piercing procedure. I even touched my ears once before he began and he gently reminded me not to so we wouldn't introduce potential infection to the site he was about to puncture. These are the pros, guys. If you don't like being asked to wear a mask, sanitize your hands upon arrival, and refrain from touching your ears before they pierce you, take your business elsewhere. This shop is clean, they are professionals who know what they are doing, and I would be happy to return to this place to have my second earholes redone by Zero. Thanks, man, for doing what you do. Been a while since I wrote a review, but feel like I have to give credit where credit is due! I started my sleeve about 5 years ago and have put off getting in finished since then. For whatever reason getting tattooed has always been anxiety provoking for me...but the shop at calculated punkture definitely had a much different vibe that was very welcoming for everyone. I felt right at home from the second I walked in the door. The shop was very clean and organized.. I was asked if I wanted a drink, pillows or a blanket which was a really nice touch. The shop owners wife was also there who was so sweet and checked on me periodically.. now the tattoo review! Juarez has an incredible talent for bringing a vision to life.. the space I needed filled was kinda an awkward one and I'm not great at explaining things. I gave "him crying girl and flowers" and he absolutely killed it! I didn't even need to send a inspo pic. Highly recommend trusting his abilities and letting him bring your ideas to life! The Piercer was very unfriendly, and his demeanor was so odd! No introduction, just said to sit in the chair! I understand the fast approach to cut down on anxiety time, but there was no explaining how it's done. It was a rough cotton call swish in the nose, and "dont move". My 14 year old of course moved! He said "I said not to move". Really?! It was done, and my daughter was happy with it, but my God! The experience was not good. I don't care if you've been doing it for 18 years or not, you need to work on your interpersonal skills buddy! My bad for not checking the reviews first. To the owner.. I came here 5 years ago and got a script from the owner Juarez, who was professional and helpful. This shop is VERY clean and spacious. You're greeted right away when you walk in. I wanted to get a simple script on my hand. Philippe Solomon went over options and how tattoos heal on hand over time. We decided on the font and got started. I updated my three star review five years ago to 5 stars because of the service. He took his time and explained that hand tattoos takes some TLC to make sure the ink stays. He even wore special glasses to magnify his view. I found out that he does traditional Filipino style tattoo! Which I have been planing to get. Glad I walked in and look forward to doing more. I went in for a nose piercing. Right off the bat, I was greeted by the tattoo artist right at the front. The piercer walked over and had me immediately put hand sanitizer on (which is great, keeping it clean)... I filled out paperwork and headed over to the chair to get pierced. I already had one piercing in my nose & wanted another right next to it. At first, he was hesitant to do the piercing because of the placement of my first piercing, which made me a little hesitant as well. I was unsure if I wanted the second hole to go in front or behind my original piercing, which is when I asked him his opinion. His response "I don't care where you get it, but I do have a line" ... there was one person waiting behind me, who had been waiting maybe 5-10 minutes. In my head, I am thinking "you're about to put a hole in my face, forgive me for wanting to make sure it is where I want it"... But I simply said "okay". Once the needle went in my nose, which hurt like a mofo, my head accidentally moved slightly & his response was "well don't move". I do not know, maybe he was having a bad day... but I would expect someone who deals with other people on a regular basis, as a source of income, to be a little bit more welcoming and to have a little bit better customer service. However, I do really like how my piercing turned out, so I did tip him, I just will go elsewhere from now on as I did not appreciate feeling rushed when paying for a service. read more

What an excellent piercing experience I had yesterday. I had first tried to come to this establishment once before, after being sorely disappointed by Claire's (not knowing that they don't do nose piercings in California and wasted my time going there) only to learn that the piercer had already gone home for the day...but I didn't give up...after coming inside I liked how neat and clean the place looked, and also the vibe. I'm so glad I chose to come back a few weeks later. I don't live in this area, but come out on occasion to visit family. Zero, the resident piercer for this establishment, was super friendly and knowledgeable...very professional...and extremely fast...all in all, it was finished within a couple seconds. You can tell he has a lot of experience- 15 years I believe he mentioned, and it shows throughout the whole process. I immediately see why so many awards have been handed to Calculated Punkture. I am so happy I chose to do business with them, and I will continue to come back for any future piercings if I so choose to have any more done. I'm amazed how well everything went for a memorial tattoo for my wife( also was my first tattoo). Juarez was so awesome. It was a bit difficult with all the hoops they have to jump thru to stay open during CA's Covid rules, but that's not their fault. I gave Juarez a screenshot from IG that loosely resembled what I wanted, he took the pic and redrew with his own ideas and it came out perfect. I mean, combining an anchor, heart & Hello Kitty isn't easy. What surprised me was how almost painless it was. I mean there was some discomfort, but his steady hand kept my arm damage free. The entire process took about two hours for about a 4" tall tattoo pictured. It turned out exactly as I envisioned and I couldn't be any happier. He covered the tattoo with the sterile clear wrap which stayed on for about 3 days. He explained that blood would pool under the wrap, and that's ok. When I uncovered and washed it for the first time I was expecting a wound and more bleeding, but there was none. Some discomfort for less than a week, but not bad at all. Completely healed in a few days and totally pain free within a week. Never had any scabbing or bleeding. I think the ink held pretty damn well, the pic shown is about two weeks after the tattoo day. This review is only for the piercer Zero. Literally nothing can be more uncomfortable than visiting this guy. He is the most awkward and unwelcoming person I have ever dealt with in all my life and at 52 it's been a lot of piercing and tattoo studios. I'm leaving this review after giving him multiple chances to warm up and be friendly. The past few times I've left him a decent tip and attempted small talk and some charm. I am a registered nurse and take care of people everyday from every demographic. I known how to make people comfortable and maintain a clean environment for infection prevention. I have never met anyone so ridiculous in my life. This guy actually told me to reuse hand sanitizer after touching my own healed piercings. He is completely unwelcoming, unfriendly and flat out rude. He wears a mask and a face shield which would be fine if he was nice and friendly... far from it. I DO NOT recommend going to him. Find anywhere else, do your own piercings. Don't waste your money on a very awkward, intimidating and weird experience. I don't know what his problem is but if I were the owner I would totally get rid of this freak. If HE is the owner, as the owner you might think about getting some social skills and therapy. read more

Dang, should've read reviews. Went in to get a piercing few days ago - Zero is the rudest person. Has absolutely no customer service. He gave me two options to use for my piercings. I came to an actual studio thinking it would be better than a Claire's. My piercings are so uncomfortable so big. Very hard to sleep in. I called a few other studios to see if I could get them changed. They really don't recommend changing them so early but all the shops stated that they will not properly heal with such large earrings. I went into another shop today and they couldn't believe someone is piercing with butterfly backs. I had no idea that is something you're not supposed to do. Both gentlemen giving tattoos in the shop were very friendly and said hello to us. If you are looking to get piercings I would go somewhere else. read more
