Called the shop on Friday made an appointment for 1st thing Saturday morning. Dropped the car off, the owner was super friendly he gave me a time of 2 hours to complete. They called me exactly 2 hours later and said the car was complete, we paid for the service which was super cheap! He walked us to the car showed us the work, turned it on and WOW!!! Let me tell you why Gus is my hero. I purchased a new vehicle for my Tour Balboa Park business. I tried to connect my mic to enable me to use the speakers in my car. I asked so many people for help, but no one could figure it out. I searched the internet but wasn't even sure what to look for. Turned out it was time to replace my system, which was something I was already assuming might be case. They gave me a time estimate of 1.5 hours, which was pretty much spot on. My window tint did come out great but was not the color of the sample I was shown. My radio is a different story, I was told one price then it changed and changed again. I didn't mind expecting a sound. Now I hear a buzzing sound every time the car is on threw the speakers. I was told I was getting said amp and received a generic one instead.I've gone back multiple times asking for a detailed receipt for insurance purposes and still haven't received it. --))Update((-- Nothing was ever fixed this place is crap. read more

In short this Company ordered or was supposed to order me a CD Changer for my truck and install it, I paid them $370.00 plus a $13.00 Credit Card Convenience Fee, after weeks of excuses back and forth about we can and cannot get the unit, and the owner avoiding me and not returning my calls. I finally demanded my money back. They would not credit my credit card, but offered me cash. When I went to pick it up, I was informed they would deduct a 30% restocking fee, for something they never got. I received $262.50 cash. Never Do Business with these people, you do risk losing everything you pay them, and getting nothing for it. read more

A great experience from start to finish with this place. Found it on yelp to be one of the top rated places in San Diego for what I was looking to get done so I went to check it out in person. Jay was very helpful and informative when it came to extra parts that I'd need for my radio installation. They didn't have the parts on hand so he said he would order them for me. I went in a couple days later and they were there. Sat down for an hour while it was installed and found out that the book listed that listed the installation kit for my year of car was wrong, so they were able to make a custom fit for my car. Summary: Item purchased: Viper alarm. The price and time were stated on the phone. He did a walk through of the vehicle and the product. Asked if I had any questions and went to work. It was done ahead of schedule and he walked through the installation and product and how to use it. It was a great experience and I felt like I was treated well and that my simple car now has a bit of something special. Long Version: Gus was great! I called, he answered in under 4 rings, I could hear him clearly on the phone. I asked what he had, he had something close to it, gave me the out the door price over the phone as well as when he was available and how long it would take. When I showed up he was playing music on the speakers in the bay but they weren't so loud you couldn't think. It was clear however that they could get much louder. He even helped me park in the bay, which was clean! I am not talking about no oil stains clean, I am talking about the floor was free of clutter or cut wires, or bits and pieces you normally get from the jobs before yours. Even though we had already talked about what I wanted, he showed it to me again, talked me through the pros of this purchase as well as other options. He did a walk around of my car, to make sure the installation would be good and gave me a time of when it would be done. I did pay upfront. I am use to this so I didn't think of anything of it but something to know in case this isn't normal. The waiting room is small and dark and not meant to stay in for a long period of time but it does have a nice TV. Keep that in mind if you want to wait. The installation was done ahead of schedule and Gus once again walked around the car, showed me how everything works, showed me the how to guide, provided me with extra parts, and I was on my way. I am very happy about the install I had done at Car Audio Land two days ago. Gus is a very knowledgeable and experienced installer, and you can tell just by talking to him for a bit. He did a super clean and professional job on my amp and sub install. Everything is wired up, tucked away, covered with wire protector, and kept together neatly with zip ties. Unfortunately there was a problem with the amp I bought. As soon as I received the amp in the mail and opened it, I myself was suspicious that it had been a used amp due to residue on the packaging, and hoped that it was at least in good condition. Gus discovered that it actually was not, and urged me not to even try to hook it up. He wasn't happy about it, but I had to drive away with NO bump that day. Since then, I bought another amp, hooked it up myself (made really easy by Gus' wire management and placement), and it is bumping along perfectly. Car Audio Land gave me the best quote of the 6 or 7 shops I called in the area and did an amazing job. Thanks Gus! read more

Car Audio Land offers great work for even better prices! Gus installed a double din stereo and new speakers in one of my cars the first time I came here. I also got an alarm installed in one of my cars by him. I just came back last week to install a new stereo, new speakers, 2 amps and a JL audio 12" subwoofer on another car and I was surprised by the price! The quality of the sound was a lot better than I imagined and he even tuned it himself! This guy is a hard working, honest guy who offers fair prices and that's hard to come by nowadays! I felt confident coming here to have an audio cable replaced in my car after reading the positive Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, I had a poor experience with this business. I stopped by without an appointment and I was helped right away. The guys checked out my car and confirmed that I did need a replacement cable. They said the cable would arrive tomorrow so I made an appointment for the next day and paid in full. I arrived a bit early for my appointment the next day, and the guys began working on my car right away. They said it would take approximately one hour to complete. After waiting there for about 45 minutes, I was told they ordered the wrong cable for my car. This was quite disturbing, as they checked my car the day before to determine what cable to order. They said they would order the correct one, but it may take up to 5 days for it to arrive. I asked that they call me when the correct part arrived and I would make a new appointment. Later that day, I received a voicemail stating that I was given a refund. I called back to inquire and was told by the woman who answered that "Gus said he doesn't want to order the new part for you." Must be nice to have such a successful business that you can turn away customers. I'll be taking my car elsewhere obviously, where the staff is focused on completing work they start, with the correct parts, to earn repeat business. Such a disappointing waste of two days with this unprofessional business. I certainly recommend taking your business elsewhere to have work completed correctly and efficiently the first time. read more

I never write reviews even when I have bad encounters with a business but this is a must. Worst customer service I have experience in San Diego. NEVER I repeat NEVER EVER go to this "audio installation" shop. I saw an ad from one of their employees stating that they were having a discount on all car audio installation. So I made an appointment with an employee. The next morning, I take off from work to bring my car in. Keep in mind, I drive 40 minutes out of my way round trip to get to the shop. When I get there, the lady working the make shift desk tells me that I don't have an appointment but she can work me in once the installation guy gets into work. My appointment was at 11:00. She said he wouldn't be at work until 11:30. No big deal, I let it go. So she asks me what equipment I have with me and I show her all my equipment. Everything needed to install a car audio system was there. She said it looks good and everything is ready to go. She asked me what price the employee quoted me. I gave her the price and she said that the price I was given was half of what they usually charge. She said she would call her boss and confirm. She had me wait a good ten minutes while she went into the back of the shop to speak to the "boss". She comes back and tells me she couldn't go any lower than the double original price I was quoted. To top it off, this place looks like a chop shop. Parts everywhere, wires all on the ground, no sense of security what so ever, etc. So with that being said, take your vehicle elsewhere. This place is a joke. I'm not quite sure how this is reviewed as a 5 star shop. I'm only giving it 1 star because that's the only way I can write a review. TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLAR TO SOMEONE WHO WILL APPRECIATE IT. read more

I called on New Year's Day after someone left fingerprints all over my Z, obviously trying to break in. They were able to install a Viper car alarm system and tint my windows quickly! I dropped off my car in the afternoon and it was ready within a few hours! I'm always super impressed with the level of customer service they provide.
