Marla was referred to us by a colleague for our wedding, and she was the first photographer we looked at. As the groom and amateur photographer, I couldn't care less about colors or flowers, I wanted the best photographer we could find. We kept coming back to Marla's work, looking at other photographer's sites (which of course have their best work), and finding no one that could even come close to matching Marla's quality and vision. I was sold just from the website - her lighting, poses, colors, and composition were second to none, but it was important that my (now) wife got along with her. Marla took the time to sit down with us and discuss more than just photography, she wanted to get to know us, let us get to know her, and make sure it would be a good fit (in addition to explaining the process and timeline and other business stuff). My wife loved her, and we hired her on the spot not only for our wedding, but two engagement shoots. I cannot even begin to describe how much I love the photos that Marla took for our wedding!!! I have received so many compliments about how beautiful they are. What I loved the most, was that Marla really captured the "moments". Those moments where people were hugging or crying happy tears or laughing together - all those things that make the day the most special. Before our wedding we had looked at several other photographers, but we ended up choosing Marla because of her professionalism, her pricing and how much it covered, and because her photos had wonderful, vibrant color. Her lighting really made all the difference, especially after our ceremony when it was getting dark and we were taking family portraits outside. I also appreciated her attention to detail. We were on top of a mountain and it was cold and super windy and the bridal party was freezing. But I had faith that Marla knew what she was doing, so we put our trust in her and we all toughed it out. I cannot sing Marla's praises enough! My husband and I were recently married in Colorado and the photography was very important to me as I want to capture these moments forever. There are so many wonderful things that I can say about Marla that I don't even know where to begin. My husband and I live in Colorado but got married in Tennessee. I interviewed several photographers that were local and none compared to Marla. Marla and I scheduled our phone conversation after a few emails about location and venue. I recently had the incredible opportunity to team up with Marla for one of the most detailed and extensive styled wedding shoots in Colorado. With Marla's initial inspiration, we curated a same-sex styled shoot featuring two real couples in love, and a team of 15 wedding vendors for a two-day styled shoot on a remote Colorado ranch. With just four weeks to design and plan, I was highly impressed with Marla's sincere passion for this project which was evident in her hands-on planning approach, the quality of her creative contributions, and her attendance at multiple fittings, and planning sessions.
