I was a bit apprehensive about the wait time as mentioned by previous folks, but guess it was my lucky day. Got seated in less than 5 minutes, got my food and ate it all within 45 minutes. This is a restaurant where most of the items are within the $10-$20 price range. I loved the no-frills ambience that reminded me of canteen stalls in Chennai, the sweet uncle (co-owner) Mr. Ramachandran who took my order and the featherlike Appam served with flavorful veg curry. They have many vegetarian options and the service beats everything. If you are in Alpharetta and haven't visited this place, you are really missing out. The spot is located in a mall, so there are plenty of parking spots available and the store is easy to locate. I also think the entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Service is phenomenal. They are so friendly and nice. They came to check on us multiple times throughout our meal to make sure everything tasted good. The inside is clean and welcoming. There are enough tables to host a big party. We came in for lunch on a Wednesday around 12:20. Everyone was getting the lunchbox so we decided to try the non-veg lunchbox ($9.99), it came with two sides, rice, naan, chicken wing, and Gobi. It was so much food and delicious. What a deal. Definitely recommend. We also got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Wow, the tikka was amazing. The chicken was very tender, not dry at all and the flavor was perfect, it wasn't too sweet like a lot of other places which I love. The naan was so fresh. The prices are more affordable than other Indian restaurants in the area. I'm so excited this place opened up next to us. The best Indian food hands down. Will recommend them to everyone.

There is wide variety of selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods. From crispy appetizers to rich curries and aromatic rice dishes, every item feels thoughtfully prepared and full of authentic taste. Though it's operated by a Punjabi owner, the kitchen team serves very authentic South Indian flavors, and the ambience also leans South Indian--simple, warm, and family-friendly. Non-veg, their chicken and lamb flare well. If you're looking for a delicious, diverse, and satisfying Indian buffet with great customer service, Madras Chettinad is absolutely worth a visit. This was one of the poorer biryani experiences I've had, which I say reluctantly because it's clear…read morethe staff genuinely care about both the food and their customers. The dish had some good flavors, so it's a bit difficult to describe exactly where it fell short--but much of the disappointment came from the eating experience itself. I ordered the goat biryani. While the goat was bone-in, it was overwhelmingly bone rather than meat. There were five pieces total; three were mostly bone with very little meat--perhaps a single bite combined--and the remaining two were largely fat. Although the fat was rendered well, the actual goat meat was nearly nonexistent. The spice profile showed promise, but many of the whole spices used--such as bay leaves, whole peppers, and spice pods--were inedible and abundant. Accidentally biting into them made for an unpleasant experience, and avoiding them required constant effort. I understand that whole spices are traditional in Indian cooking, but the quantity and execution here detracted from the dish. Additionally, the flavor leaned quite floral, which made the overall taste a bit unusual and not especially balanced for me. I also didn't care for the raita. It was very thin and lacked the cool, creamy yogurt flavor that typically brings contrast and refreshment to biryani. Instead, it tasted more bitter and sour. That said, the restaurant was packed, and I was the only white customer there, which speaks to its authenticity and strong local following. While this meal wasn't for me, it's clearly a place many people enjoy and trust.
