You got to "paint" your own cake using techniques taught at the beginning, plus a free beverage was included. I ordered from the Cake House for an Easter Sunday celebration combined with a boy baby shower. When I got the order home around 2pm the day before the event, I was totally disappointed in the appearance. I sent an email to the store expressing my disappointment and went on preparing for the event. I got an email response back from them at 2:31 telling me to bring the order back and they close at 4pm. I didn't see that message till 4:21pm. I had to request a response from them to my follow up email and was told since the product was not returned it was out of their control. The cupcakes in the photos were specifically ordered for a baby boy shower. The icing was supposed to be blue with a decorative baby themed top. The icing is clearly green, the supposed baby feet took up the entire top of the cupcake ... looked like big foot and whatever the deformed gold "oh baby" on lays are laughable. My order was 2 doz cupcakes (baby boy blue); 2 doz cake pops and 2 doz cookies Easter themed/colored. The icing on the cookies were two to three times the depth of the actual cookie! The products looked horrible and ruined what should have been a great dessert display. (Not to mention it was a nearly $200.00 spend) The response of 'you didn't return it in the 1.5 hour window we gave you' is as pathetic as the products looked. Buyers beware! read more

Ordered my wedding cutting cake from here- big mistake! Cake was supposed to be lemon with strawberry buttercream. When I cut into the cake, I found that they used plain buttercream which was very disappointing. I also asked for a classic plain white cake (and sent a pic)... the result was a white GLITTER cake. I really don't like glitter- especially on food. It makes a mess and I DIDN'T ask for a glitter/ sparkly cake. I reached out to the owner, but have yet to hear back. I didn't say anything since my event was the next day and I had other things to be concerned with. Very frustrating- my request wasn't hard. I ordered ahead of time on the phone for a special delivery for my wife's birthday that's ON Valentine's Day, so you know this had to be perfect. It was very easy placing a pick up order via the phone, and staff was very friendly. Once arriving onsite, there was a solid line, maybe 4 people. So, fairly busy environment but it was also Valentine's Day. Staff was working quickly to get everyone settled up and ordered at the checkout. I was asked if I had a pick up, and a staff member quickly got my order brought out. The order was correct and looked fantastic presentation wise. As far as the available options to buy directly at the counter, they had a great variety of options for any sweet tooth lover! I ordered a few extra things, which may or may not have been my gift for my wife's birthday! I ordered a brownie pop with Oreo on top. The only reason for a 4 star here is nuts and non nuts aren't separate, so the possibility of cross contamination is possible. With that being said, staff did reiterate that there are no nuts in the brownie, and I did risk and try it. No issues, but definitely a concern. However, everything else about this experience was excellent and we really enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries and the other great treats! As another poster, if I could give this a negative number of stars, I would. We ordered a wedding cake for hundreds of dollars. When we finally cut it in front of all of our guests we found out that it was not at all the cake we ordered. Shocked and stunned would be the best way to describe how we felt. My wife was so excited all day to get to eat the almond cake with raspberry preserve filling.... needless to say that is NOT what we cut into. Not only that some spots on our second tier had almost no filling at all and that was a icing type filling. To add insult to injury, we called the store to talk to a manager about our displeasure, the girl was friendly until we said we were unhappy with something and then she got a bit short. Needless to say she said she took our name and number but we never got a call back from the store manager. I don't usually take the time to review unless I truly love the place but this time I had to. I do understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic and things have been changing left and right so I gave them some room for error however it has come to the point that I can no longer do that. I reviewed them before and said the cake was amazing which is still true so I hate to have to revise my review however, I must change my review based on my experiences with the company, their reliability and customer service. After I picked up my wedding tasting box and my fiancé and I tried the array of options we fell in love, I was ready to book. I sent an email to schedule an appointment to discuss the process and any details about booking for my wedding. In the email I received back which I was originally speaking to the owner but all of a sudden I received a reply back from the owners new assistant . This was not a problem as I assumed because the cake is so good that business was picking up and help was needed. The assistant and I set up a date and time for us to meet with the owner along with how much the deposit was. I invited my mother and best friend to come with me. On this day it was raining pretty bad outside and I don't live close at all but we made it on time. Upon arrival we were informed that the owner was not there and would not be back also that our appointment was no where in their schedule! I was very annoyed with this but the person I spoke to tried her best to answer any questions and get any information from me to pass along to the owner, she also let my mom and friend try the cake since they had not tasted it yet. Still I was disappointed as I was prepared to book right then and there. This was the first red flag. The lady we spoke to said she would pass along all of the information to the owner and the owner would call me back on Friday. She was apologetic but I was still understandably annoyed but polite. I don't understand how an assistant scheduled an appointment and doesn't let the owner know. My family brought up that this is a sign that they may not be reliable and could I trust them to do what they need to on my wedding day. But... I loved the cake and was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because mistakes happen. Friday came and went I was not contacted like promised. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday no contact. Finally on Wednesday I sent an email. The owner responded back immediately and apologized and set up a time for her to call me so we could discuss details. I was again a bit disappointed in their business practices but I again let it go. The owner did call me that weekend and we discussed what I wanted and wedding details. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted so she said I could send her some pictures and she would send me some sketches with ideas and pricing. At this point I was again excited about this as I was told by another company that they would send sketches but never did and I was happy to have a picture of what she could do and my options. A couple days later I sent some pictures of what I like. I sent a lot so it may have been overwhelming so I expected it to take some time before she sent sketches to me. However, I never even received an email stating she received the pictures and I had to email to confirm in which I was told again by the assistant that they received them and the owner was looking them over trying to find a theme as I did send a lot of pictures. This was no problem I could wait and was still excited also still preparing to book with this company. A month passed no sketches, it has now been two months since I sent the pictures and I still have not heard back. I sent another email to see if they had any information for me and I still have not received a response. I am extremely disappointed as I have been speaking with this company since April and still have not booked and it is August. This company makes great cake and I assume those they have worked with have been happy but I am very disappointed and I can not vouch for their customer service or reliability. Again for taste they would get 5 stars but after my experience I can not confidently keep the rating the same. read more
