I came here to look for some cake decorations for my daughter's birthday. I was greeted as soon as I walked into the door. They had everything you could think of needing to bake or make anything and plenty of decorations. They had a discounted/discontinued area that had a some things on sale. I wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for because the theme I am doing is hard to find. The lady at the front desk was able to help me when I asked her and was very sweet and friendly. Cake Art is a baker's heaven. A good friend of mine is a baker and she recommended Cake Art to me several years ago. Since then, I've been here probably three times. I totally have forgotten about it but I needed specific cookie cutters and Cake Art came rushing back to my mind. I haven't baked in a while and my daughter got into cookie making a few weeks ago and wanted to try different things. It is located off Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker, next to Auto Zone (I think). Both have their own parking lot but towards the back, you could cut through each other's parking lot. I learned this when I drove passed Cake Art. There's aisles of baking goodies. I bought a small container of meringue powder from Cake Art to make icing for my sugar cookies. When I opened the meringue powder to make the icing I realized the seal had broken open and the powder was not good. I called the store and they asked me to bring the product back to them right away for an exchange. They didn't have the smaller sized meringue powder, but gave me the larger size at no extra charge. It sucks that they're one of the only baking supply stores near Atlanta because you don't really have a lot of options outside of coming here. Staff is unfriendly, unhelpful, and borderline rude. They seem to have an attitude when you ask them a question about where certain supplies are located. They will ignore your presence and barely make eye contact with you. I wish there were more options for when you need baking supplies on the go. If your needs aren't immediate I highly recommend ordering whatever you need from amazon. read more

I can't say thank you enough for all of the help and suggestions they have had for me over the years. All of my questions have been answered and many times I was given ideas on how to make things more easily. I took the hour drive to this store looking for cake supplies. I was so excited, WAS excited. When my husband and I walked into the store, we were not greeted , no big deal. We searched the aisles and slowly became increasingly disappointed in the selection. Nonetheless, I did find a few things, so I wouldn't feel horrible for driving so far. When we approached the register, the cashier was talking to someone on the phone and I could tell she was not very pleasant. When it was my turn, I inquired about the Russian ball tips and she said "we're all out". She wasn't rude, but she wasn't friendly. Wasn't a horrible experience, just not what I was hoping for. I seriously cannot believe I have yet to review my own personal Disney World - Cake Art! I could spend hours and thousands of dollars in this place. I mean, assuming I had thousands of dollars to spend on cake pans and chocolate for candy making and sprinkles for my delicious cupcakes and cookie cutters and chocolate molds and ... well, anything and everything cake, cupcake, cookie and candy-making related. The prices are a little high for some things, but the same items I can get cheaper online come with high shipping costs so I figure it's worth it to support a local small business. The staff here is always friendly and were quick to special order my signature hot pink foil cupcake liners when the shipping costs were eating up my profits. They now seem to keep them in stock, which makes it so much easier - and cheaper! - for me. I don't know of another place in the metro A like this, so I can only compare it to online retailers. Unlike a previous review I have never found it to be dirty or unorganized. There's a crap-ton of stuff, so it may be overwhelming to someone who is a little OCD, but the order of it all makes sense to the baker in me. read more

Although for some things (like the cake decorating tips set for frosting) that I got cheaper on a sale at Walmart, Cake Art is an awesome one-stop-shop for all things related to Cake-- even the boxes for large cakes. I did several wedding cakes and birthday cakes using Cake Art, and I guess I think it's super convenient b/c it's near the highway off of 285. I also bought great supplies for candy making-- molds, sticks for lollipops, and bags/containers to wrap them in and make them look very professional. There are TONS of cake decorating tools, cake pans in all shapes and sizes, foam dummy's for fake layers, and fondant galore. If you've ever wanted to make something right you know you have to have the right stuff to make it. Cake Art has everything you need! I had so much fun in my cake class that I just knew the store would have everything I needed to start my own "At Home" business. The aisle are well organized so you can find what you need in a hurry. The staff is friendly and personable. I actually, please don't freak out, had someone ask me did I need help and literally go out of their way to find the answer. She walked me down the aisles and helped me search for everything I needed. I could have spent hours, and hundreds of dollars, in that store. The line was long, but I can understand why. The ladies ringing up customers were very knowledgeable and even though the advice they were giving didn't apply directly to me, it was good advice nonetheless. When I made it to the counter the lady made several suggestions that honestly made the difference in the way I made my sheet cake. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is because of the location. It's so far away. The drive from Douglasville to Tucker is tiring and painful. Went there to grab some things for a party and yes they do have tons of shelves full of cake / bakery items. Some of the prices were a little high, but some were also in the lower range. Since I was spreading my shopping list around different stores, I only bought what I needed. I wish that the lighting was better here, or that the staff would take the time to actually dust off the products and shelves. The sight of a layer of grime and dirt really is unattractive and soured me enough to not buy things. The staff was pretty helpful, and there were tons of people shopping there too. Some of the items (like wedding cake toppers) were a very old style as was a lot of their things. So, if you are looking for more modern or trendy things, I'd suggest you look online. read more

They gave me wrong info about a class & when I tried to cancel it due to their error the owner yelled at me! I have never heard of this, yelling at your customers? It was completely by chance that I found this store. After looking online for where Bakerella shops, I clicked on the link to the Cake Art store. After looking at where they shipped from, I noticed that they shipped out of Georgia. Wait a minute, I'm working in Atlanta for business this week. Having discovered that the store was only less than 8 miles from where I was working, there was no chance that I was gonna go home without stopping here. Walking into the place was like I went to Disneyland, a kid in a candy store, a baker's paradise. They have absolutely everything that you could ever ask for. We have baking supplies stores in the Bay Area, but nothing of this caliber. And the prices, the prices were more than reasonable. After walking out of the store with more than $100 is sprinkles, chocolate melts, and molds, I need to figure out somehow to fit this all in my luggage. read more
