This is probably my favourite Irish pub in Munich. The door into Molly's isn't just a door. It's…read morea portal to a wonderland of mirth and merriment. Molly's is packed every evening of the week, which should tell you something about a) the loving loyalty of the patrons who come here, and b) the wonderfulness of getting to spend a couple hours here. Reservations are always recommended The food is spot on, and the bangers and mash are the best in Munich. I'd recommend against the burgers, and would suggest instead going either for any one of the Irish dishes or for one of the curries. The bacon (for the burgers) should in particular be avoided because it comes out more steamed than fried and is kind of limp and chewy as a result. The breakfast is REALLY good here, and a perfect way to cure a hangover. Needless to say, the whiskey selection here is excellent. The staff is almost always really friendly and courteous, though there is one girl behind the bar there that I'd rather not be served by, if it can be avoided. Everyone else is great though, and really make you feel almost like you're just hanging out in your own living room. Actually, that's just it. Molly's is the place you go when you just want to relax and feel as comfortable as if you were in your own living room. But this living room happens to offer Guinness, food, and whiskey.

So happy I found this place…read more Located a hop, skip and a jump from Rosenheimer Platz, this place was my savior after a day at the Wiesn. Having had my fill of beer, I just wanted a glass of seltzer (or mineral water or whatever you choose to call it). Now, don't get me wrong, I love Germany but everywhere they seem to serve water in tiny glasses. I wanted a giant glass of water...and the awesome bartender set me up with a half liter glass full of sparkling water. So I had my water, which helped a lot and now I needed food. Luckily, even in my state I was able to read the menu and see they had a cheeseburger and fries platter. I know, not Bavarian but at that point, all I'd had all day since breakfast was one of these ginormous pretzels and the skin off of some roast chicken. The food was tasty (as far as I can recall) and it really helped getting some food on my tummy. Aside from the water and food, what made this place great was the service. The bartender, whose name I regret that I didn't get, was amazing. She was so nice and friendly and really took care of me. I'm sure I looked like another tipsy American tourist but she was a sweetheart. She had short hair and glasses and maybe some tattoos. Anyway, she's the real deal. There was some music that was nice too. Overall, a nice, friendly, clean and welcoming place. To be frank, it can be intimidating to enter a big German beer hall by yourself because it seems everyone knows one another and you're an outsider. Coming here was the exact opposite...I felt welcome right away. Definitely recommend this place!

Scholars Lounge, Munich -- A Wonderful Irish Pub Experience!…read more During my August vacation in Munich, I had the pleasure of visiting Scholars Lounge with my traveling companion, Alexa. It was another memorable stop during our adventures exploring the city's pubs and nightlife! One of the things I enjoy most about traveling is discovering establishments with their own character and personality. While Munich is famous for its traditional Bavarian beer halls, it's also wonderful to find a welcoming Irish pub where visitors can relax, socialize, and enjoy a lively evening. Scholars Lounge offered the kind of casual, friendly pub atmosphere that I particularly enjoy. It's a nice change of pace from sightseeing and a wonderful way to spend an evening while exploring a new city. I especially appreciate places where the atmosphere is part of the experience. A memorable night out doesn't always require elaborate entertainment or a special occasion. Sometimes it's simply about enjoying good company, relaxing in comfortable surroundings, and taking in the local nightlife. Our visit to Scholars Lounge was a pleasant part of our Munich vacation, and it's the sort of establishment I'd be happy to return to on another trip. Five stars! A welcoming atmosphere, an enjoyable evening, and another great memory from Munich. Recommended for visitors looking for a relaxed Irish pub experience!

We were greeted and waited on immediately, but didn't feel rushed at all. They fish n chips were pretty good. My husband keeps bragging about Irish fish n chips but I've yet to see the amazing flavors he's talking about. (Getting close though ) They have Kilkenny which happens to be a fav of mine so I was super happy about that. My daughter had cider and we were so happy that all our drinks were ice cold and refreshing, while our food was hit end nourishing. Can't wait to come back!
