And anybody who has ever owned a restaurant knows renovations don't happen overnight. They take time, money, patience, and a whole lot of hard work. Jodie, Ann, Kayla, Paula, Cindy, Tony, and Nancy work hard to take care of their customers and meet their requests. If something isn't quite right or doesn't suit you, please give them the opportunity to hear you out and make it right. Sometimes a little communication and a little grace can go a long way. I know firsthand that owning a restaurant isn't easy. It takes a whole lot of blood, sweat, tears, and love. So, please give these folks a little grace, show them some kindness, and most of all, show them some appreciation. They truly deserve it. So I don't know if it was because I was in dress shorts and nice short or had tattoos. First time I've felt to be discriminated because of my tattoos. Will never visit again and will not recommend. Horrible service, the host was barely understandable and my wife even asked me if she heard what she thought she heard. Horrible experience. I'm not a low life but felt like treated as one. They offer a half sweet and half unsweet mix if you ask for it. I had the buttermilk pie, which is basically a chess pie. It was one of the best chess pies I've had on this trip. The problem was it was the last time anyone at the table was asked if they wanted another drink or even a glass of water. Next the appetizers came out. The fried shrimp were as hard as bricks. I got the Riverside trio which has a lobster tail, 1 cluster of crab legs, and 8 small boiled shrimp. The lobster tail was cooked so long that it fused to the shell. It was horrible. The crab legs were OK, and the shrimp had little flavor. The highlight was the portion cup of white beans. There might have been 2 spoonfuls in the cup. The slaw was just bad, so I'm glad there wasn't much of it. The waitress never asked if we wanted more drinks, dessert, or after dinner drinks. They had a Dolly Parton thing starting up at 7, and it was like we were being run out. Did I mention we had just spent $450 , and weren't in a hurry to leave! I could have picked a better place to spend my birthday!
