Café Magnola has a prime location at the corner of TN-100 and TN-114. The building looks fairly nondescript from the outside, and may cause many to just pass by, but that would be a mistake. Inside they are serving up classic American food in large portions at reasonable prices. Fried green tomatoes are a side dish, not an appetizer, and that should tell you something about the menu. There are a variety of sandwiches that make for nice lunch offerings, including some wonderful homemade chicken salad. There are also a number of dinner entrees, like lasagna and ribeye, and of course cajun catfish! The real trick though is saving room for the desserts. There's a board by the host stand that lists the options which will change from day to day. Cheesecakes, regular cakes, pies, no matter what you choose it will be delicious. We had the "Hot Fudge Cake", chocolate cake with ice cream, covered in hot fudge! Makes me want to skip dinner and go right to dessert.

Apple Caramel cheesecake was very good!

I've eaten at The Log Cabin twice in the past two nights, and both experiences were fantastic…read more The first night, I had the fried chicken, and it was excellent. The breading was perfectly crunchy, the chicken was juicy, and the sides were great... especially the baked beans, which were a standout. The second night, I went with the patty melt and fries. Both were delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, and the fries were crispy and flavorful. I usually have stomach issues when I eat patty melts, but I had no problems at all here, which says a lot about the quality of the food. On top of that, the staff was outstanding. We came in with a very large party, and they handled everything smoothly and professionally without missing a beat. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back!... maybe even tonight.

CC says the mounted deer head was a 16 pointer, but I think he was seeing double, so let's call it 8. We split a basket of fried mushrooms, Mannion's of Yonkers worthy. Delicious, and came w horseradish sauce!!!. CC then had pork loin w baked and green beans. He rated his meal a solid 5. My cheeseburger was advertised as eight ounces. It probably was, but was a patty w an unsubstantiated fall-apart bun. A bit undercooked as well. For me, the CB rated a 2.5. Our server, Maize, excellent. Overall, the fried mushrooms lifted the overall score to 4. For this area, TLC is very good, and draws a decent crowd.

I guess her attitude pours out on others, because I've only ever had a nice server one time ---- ONLY ONE TIME!!!!!!!!!! And she was so meek she was afraid to take our order and even talk to us. As for the food... For lunch or dinner, the salad bar is the best they have, and it isn't good. They have watery iceberg lettuce with huge white hard chunks. I guess they save the green leaves for sandwiches. The dressing is watered down. The bacon bits are fake, and they don't have a big selection. Out of the hot food options, the spaghetti is probably your best bet, but don't expect it to taste homemade. I really don't understand why this place is still in business. I've never known it to be good and know more people who dislike it than who like it. My guess the church crowd is what keeps it in business. Also, I'm sure it has a lot to do with politics.

This would qualify as your typical southern charm family restaurant, that my family has been coming to for decades, and was my first visit since I was a teenager. The atmosphere at the Grecian is friendly, clean, and spacious. Our server was young, friendly, and learned it was easier to put down pitchers of water and tea rather than try refills, which is always appreciated. There is plenty of seating for small and large parties (we were a family of 10). The menu is pretty eclectic from Italian entrees, catfish, steak, chicken, and the aforementioned gyro (all of which was ordered). The staple at the Grecian is their fresh salad bar, which I might come in just for that. Most entrees have it included but you can get it on its own as well. Generous in its offerings the 1000 Island was outstanding. The food was not bland (steak was tasty but not noteworthy) and generous in portion. It won't win any awards but it didn't leave anyone hungry at the end either. At the End of the Day this is exactly what you would expect and it doesn't disappoint. There is not a wow element to the Grecian and maybe it isn't supposed to have one. In small towns like this maybe it's just nice to have something dependable and good to eat!?!

It didn't slide around in the vehicle on the way home--it was given to me like this. Today is Mothers Day. In my family, we each decided to get what we wanted for lunch individually instead of going out to eat together this year and I had my heart set on a mushroom swiss burger and tots from Finish Line. Their employee, Destiny and her bff EJ, are "Mean girls," and have already bullied me out of a local recovery meeting I used to attend regularly and benefit from. Their stupid vendetta of sorts has come to this, one of them making an epic mess of my order. When handing me my order Destiny said "you said you wanted chocolate so that's what you got...hope that's alright." I know it was an intentional over-syruping meant to ruin my Mother's Day, my clothes and my upholstery. You didn't. But I'm telling on you. Finish Line Diner has the best hamburger in town. That hasn't changed. But I don't appreciate the sloppy, careless way my food was handled and presented to me. I will order from them again...I do love a good burger. Too bad their "best" employee and the face of their business is such a catty b.
