The ambiance, the decor, the entire vibe is as tiki and fun as you can get. Their drink menu pairs well. We ordered many of their drinks but don't ask me the names, the drinks are strong. Actually, it was somewhat fortuitous that I wandered that the street and discovered this place, even though it has been on my radar for a little while. While it is not necessarily a beer bar, you can buy beer here, but then again I still struggle to find a bar that doesn't sell beer (unless of course it is a whisky bar, but then again they also sell beer, or at least the ones that I have visited do). As for the bar, first of all it does get pretty crowded, but it still has a pretty decent atmosphere so I will give it some credit where it is due.

However, the store is far from old, rather it is a specialist retailer of alcohol. While he does have a small variety of beers, it is the spirits that seem to be the focus here. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, and also incredibly chatty. Don't expect to get trappist beers here, namely because they are sold everywhere else - he is only interested in rare beers, namely craft or micro-brews. He does have a small outdoor area downstairs but there are only three tables, so it can get a little cramped. Certainly a place to check out, especially if you like rare and exotic alcohol.

They have an extensive wine list as well as plenty of cocktails or beer. Just about anything you would want your meals here. We would've liked it if they had some kind of wine pairing with the meals. In the end I chose a good one so it didn't matter much. We would certainly love to go back if we were in Ghent again.
