The chocolate was like a cold Ritter Sport bar on a cone. 1 euro scoops? Can't beat that either! Oberammergau is a small town oozing with history. Good…read morelunch place if you are traveling from Neuschwanstein to Linderhof and need to stop for lunch. The only thing that threw me off a little was the decor. The walls were lime green, which was balanced by the dark wood of the tables but there were a few red accents as well that contrasted the green. This was of course an ode to the Italian flag, and didn't interfere with the meal, so I suppose I shouldn't complain. They also have outdoor seating, so if you don't like the photos you can sit outside (which is probably what I should have done). You can tell from the pictures that the place was nearly empty (at 14:00 on a Saturday!) and so if you are tired of crowds then this is the place for you. The menu is mostly composed of pizza and pasta, but there is an anti-pasta section as well if you really don't want either of those things. This was a great restaurant and I recommend it to all who want a crowd-free break on their journey through Ludwig II's castles!
