You can smell samples to find your favorite or flip through the impressive menu. You can order a cup of tea or buy loose leaf to take home. Loose leaf tea is sold by weight (grams), and the prices were very fair. I spent roughly €13 on 150 grams of tea and one tea tin (€3) that held 50 of it. (The rest went into provided containers.) All of it traveled home well and made for tasty tea times! The shop also has a variety of chocolates and tea cookies. Everything looked amazing! And the owner was so warm and welcoming. I will make OroNero a must visit on my next trip to Florence and if you're a tea drinker, you should, too!

The cafe americano was actually the best black coffee I've had whilst in Italy. Not too bitter, but perfect with my chocolate croissant. My friends got coffees with chocolate and creamer and ended with a hefty bill (like 8 euros for sandwich and that coffee) for breakfast.

I'd walk right by Caffe' Fossi, and made it a routine in the morning to stop for a cappucciuno and cornetto (and fresh squeezed OJ on some days). Its a short walk from Santa Maria Novella Basilica. The staff are super friendly, coffee delicious, and the large windows slide open so that it feels very open air in the nice weather. This place feels like a local coffee shop (although a fair smattering of tourists stop in). I felt at home here, and welcomed, and loved their pastry/coffee options. I can't wait to come back next fall!
