    Delicious cafè roasted on site

Excellent find! Great espresso and pastries. They also roast their own beans, swoon! A must stop for java junkies, very professional staff and impeccably clean. 5 stars need I say more!

Lokking from the cafe down at the packaging area.

Caffellatte is a relatively new coffee and dessert stop on highway 129 between Aricebo and Lares. We discovered it after a recent visit to Lares when looking for a rehydration stop while heading north. The space is nicely done with a coffee bar and about a dozen small tables. Large windows on the west side allow plenty of sunlight into the cafe, while an interior window on the east wall allows a view down into the attached coffee packaging plant. The coffee itself is very good (but that should go without question, given that Caffelatte sits in the mountains of northwestern Puerto Rico where the residents grow, harvest, prepare, live, and breathe award-winning coffee). The desserts and bakery treats also are exceptional. I tried the cheesecake, while my companion has tostadas with ajo (garlic) and both really hit the spot. We saw at least one person working on a laptop in the cafe, confirming it also is a great setting to get some work done. Next time you find yourself on PR highway 129, make sure to check out Caffellatte.

Family friendly restaurant/coffee shop in Road #129 in Lares. A must stop to get a cup of coffee, some Puertorrican snacks, or brunch/lunch/dinner. If you look through the glass window, you'll see a part of the coffee bean roasting/packaging process.

Really good cafe with quick service. As others have said, Cafetal has a bit of everything. It's…read morepart bakery, part cafeteria, sandwich shop, and coffee. All of it is very good. I really liked their coffee. This wasn't bland US-style restaurant brew Folgers coffee. It's the good stuff (and reasonably priced). I had some hot prepared food from their cafeteria area. It was good. But, the real winner is their Cuban sandwich. My son got one and it was huge. Like more than a foot long. Not only is it big, it is delicious. I would say probably the best one I've ever had (and I've had them in Miami and elsewhere). Pastries and sweets are yummy too. You won't leave here hungry. Nice little stop along the road if you're passing through the area.

This place is killer! Amazingly great selection and flavors. We've stopped at 4 other area bakeries…read moreand this is by far the best. Try the Guava Cheese pastry or there's one made with Ladyfingers and cream cheese. Awesome Cherry turnovers. We tried like 11 things in the 2 trips we made. All of them were great. Very friendly staff, let me practice my Español and remembered us when we came back. So sweet, asked us if we liked our Airbnb. I just wished that I had gotten pics of the inside. It is beautiful and cozy looking even though it's pretty large. They are open until 10 at night so we were able to scoot in on our way back from hiking tours and have our stuff for breakfast. Unusual for someone living stateside to see. Stop in and try them, you won't go anywhere else for your pastry.
