While being on vacation, we found this gem, and ate here every night on our vacation, and ended each meal with there non-bake cheese cake that's topped with strawberry glaze.. What a wonderful restaurant! Sometimes you are craving classic Italian flavors and this place doesn't disappoint. The starters of homemade gnocchi with butter and sage and the grilled vegetables were fantastic. My partner had the ossobuco which was melt in your mouth perfection. I had the tagliatelle with bolognese, freshly made pasta with a rich, meaty sauce just...chef's kiss. A creamy tiramisu and a complementary limoncello finished a great meal. Our waiter was fun and gave us good tips for some things to do while in the area. If you are in Stresa and looking for a classic Italian meal Caffe Torino is worth a try. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. We had a waiter, a young man from Poland (tall, blond-is) who was intensely rude and poorly trained. He ignored our table, was very rude to us, and absolutely did not know how to provide service. It was terrible. The steak was bad, too. But, the key is that the service people at this place simply don't care, and he should be fired. I would give it a zero if possible. read more

Mediocre would've been a compliment on our dinner. The service was brusque and rushed. My secondi piatti was dumped on the table before I finished my primi. Although my trout appetizer was delicious it was also not presented well and was not filleted carefully. The tagliatelle was salty. The bread was stale. This restaurant was also a highly recommend Trip Advisor find. This review is based on the pizza only. This is located in a large Piazza in city center Stresa. There are several restaurant - bar surrounding and in this Piazza. It is a busy and bustling place so not a place if you are looking for a quiet meal. There is plenty of outdoor or indoor seating. This place is packed in the evening so you definitely need reservations for dinner. The pizza we ordered was delicious. However, we noticed some of the other dishes coming out and the ingredients didn't look very fresh, and didn't look so tasty. For example, the burgers looked like something to definitely avoid, the salads looked OK, but the salad didn't appear to be young in it's life. If I had ordered something else I might have lowered my review by a star. read more

Wow! The caprese salad is so delicious. You've never had mozzarella like this! And the basilico oil is yummy. You can buy some to take home.
