English Fish And Chips - Dinner
Emory B.

My husband and I met friends of our here for dinner. They had been several times and recommended it. It was delicious! Menu that has a wide variety of options- anyone can find something there that they'd like. I had the mussels and they were delicious! Our waitress was nice. Small space- not a ton of seating, so not sure how great it would be for a large group.

This European style restaurant is amazing! I stopped in for an espresso and breakfast and was amazed by the vibe and the food. I will definitely be a regular here

I found a great work lunch spot - menu and receipt pictured. Swipe to see the turkey, Panini, curried, chicken, salad, sandwich, the West Coast veggie sandwich, chunky chocolate, chip cookie, and the frothiest cappuccino ever!

This place has the most unique flavors of empanadas in town. My favorite was the gyro and the spinach. I love how they also serve coffee. I love their giant cookie here also. I aim to try each flavor of empanadas they have one day. Hopefully, like an empanada flights lol.

Garlic Shrimp pasta

Garlic shrimp pasta is the star here! Deliciously sweet and garlicky! I'd forever come back for this dish.

Had been driving past here for years and finally stopped in!!! Very diverse menu with lots of affordable options for many kinds of cravings. Extremely European feel (but with better service) all around. Doesn't make you feel like you're on Frankfort Ave!

By far one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville. A nice, quaint restaurant with amazing food, their pomme frittes are probably the best fries I have ever tried! This restaurant gives a very intimate feeling, like a restaurant where you could go alone and have a nice meal without it feeling too overwhelming. The staff is very attentive as well and since the restaurant isn't too big, the staff is always in eye view where you can politely wave them over if need be. Definitely recommend if you are looking to have a quite evening with a wide variety of food!

Café Classico is one of our favorite places to go to for a nice start to our afternoon with a wonderful cappuccino and Belgian Pomme Frittes or a light lunch or dinner. The environment is calm and comfortable. The people are polite. And service is always on point and satisfying. Try the desserts with your coffee they are always satisfying.

Espresso and Argentinian Alfajores

This place is so close to being one of those small treasures, with only a couple of misses: when you do make reservations (not needed) they do not greet you very efficiently... it was actually a bit awkward, and the setting for dinner was pretty bright. The only thing we ate that lacked any pizzazz was the Pizza Alla Bobo... the pie lacked flavor and any kind of herb enhancement. Otherwise we really enjoyed our dinner and have some bright spots to share: The black eyed pea soup was awesome! Slightly spicy but not over bearing. The Chicken Roulade was tender and well cooked with lovely add-ons. Closing dinner with an Espresso and Argentinian Alfajores cannot be passed up. Absolutely lush! --- oh and despite the sound, the Fig and Feta gelato was delish! We will be back.

Best frites in town! Also great homemade pizzas (from sauce to dough) & tortilla española on Sundays.

This is the best coffee in town. Forget pints of Starbucks, this is the real thing in a cup, Julius Meinl, just like Vienna

I came for the…read morecoffee, but I stayed for the chicken's feet that would grant me protection and luck for only $5, the multiple sage bundles to cleanse my chakras, and the incense sticks that might remove a hex or give me divine powers once burned. Witches Brew is a place to find all sorts of magical things, but it is also just a divine (in every sense of the word) place to sit and have a hot beverage and a pastry. It's worth a visit to this coffee shop just to see the decor. It's purple everywhere, with mood lighting, mirrors, gothic tchotchkes, creepy dolls, skulls and other fun and slightly ominous curio. There are cool things in every corner, and even though I had intended on getting my coffee to go, I decided to sit for a while because coffee sometimes just tastes better when you're surrounded by cobwebs and broomsticks. I got an Americano, which is usually my go-to if I don't know how strong the house drip will be. The Americano was nice and smooth. I didn't have to wait long at all for my coffee. I visited on a weekday during the morning, and there were two people ahead of me, but the line went fast and my coffee came out quickly.

The walls and every corner are filled with witch-related artwork, decorations, and even merchandise. It's fun to look around because there's something interesting everywhere you turn. The coffee itself was pretty standard, nothing particularly standout, but the atmosphere is really what makes this place special. If you enjoy spooky or Halloween-style vibes, you'll probably love it here. They also offer free Wi-Fi, so it could be a good spot for studying or getting some work done. Personally, I found the ambiance a bit too spooky for focusing, especially at night. I am just not a big fan of that kind of setting (haha). Overall, it was a good experience and definitely memorable in its own way. I can see why people would really enjoy it, so I'm giving it 5 stars! And server was very nice.

In a world of celestial dollar chains, choose your bro. Many Louisvillians do but it should be more. Slight rant over. To the surprise of no one, a HB Highlands location (Mid City Mall) was packed. This worked to our advantage because it gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu. Yes, I know the usual staples but I am wont to choosing seasonal delicacies at coffee shops. Everyone's had coffee. I want to know what makes you special/different. Being the holiday season, I opted for the peppermint pattie cold brew -- to go. It was an unseasonably warm day so getting a cold brew in winter wasn't entirely unhinged. The ordering process was seamless and polite. I paid (for my crew's drinks) and stepped off to the side to wait. After a reasonable amount of time, the drinks were ready. Being that the drink was to go, I didn't have the option of judging it by appearance. It smelled nice, though. As we left and I took a sip, however, something was missing. It was creamy and chocolatey but I tasted no peppermint. Like, none. Which is an issue for a peppermint pattie drink. My palate is fairly discerning. And peppermint is a fairly distinct flavor. I took another sip. Nope. Again, creamy, chocolatey and coffee...y, but no peppermint. Being that we were out the door and down the street (and the place was packed), I didn't return to address it but it was a minor let down. That said, I happily drank the coffee. Rounding up so as to be aligned with the good vibes of the season. Hopefully karma is circular.

They seemed annoyed we were there rather than excited to serve the customers that provide them job security, but hey it's kinda the norm for the younger generation I suppose. If you like be treated like "you don't belong here, you're not good enough to come to our establishment" by some snot nosed college kid, this is your place! Personally, there's a few other a little ways down the road away from the bardstown area that are much friendlier with WAY better coffee. Oh yeah, the coffee was mid. It was just ok. I wouldn't return for it but I'm also not mad about having tried it. So if it's all you have, close, in a pinch, it's good enough.
