Parking near it is a pain, particularly when there's anything on at the showgrounds, but it's a convenient walk for a ton of offices in the Wayville area. Standard menu has a ton of options, or you can create your own roll/sandwich/baguette/lepinja from scratch. Catering is available - and it's always done very professionally, prepared on time to specifications given. I have swooped down on Hawker St Cafe a couple of times for breakfast with friends and have never been disappointed. Breakfast comes in make-your-own or pick from a few menu item form. So far my highly recommended dish is the Zucchini and Corn Fritters with crème fraîche, avocado and a salsa and rocket salad. For $15 you get 2 large, fluffy and tasty fritters on a bed of salad that gives your mouth a little zing in the morning. A smooth bonsoy coffee left me with liquid-envy when I realised I could have ordered it in mug size instead of standard, but I have learned my lesson. The inside is simple and the place doesn't try too hard, it just is genuinely cool. A student share-house kind of feel, everyone seems to be a local or a regular and the outdoor tin shed and grapevine patio just amplifies the laid back vibe of the place.

Eat Street Café is like this deli style sandwich bar without the store-chain vibe. Therefore it feels much more edgy and authentic, which I love. Another thing that sets it apart is its Gawler Place location, which is something different to many Rundle type equivalents. If you get your coffee and lunch made by Julie you will be laughing because she's brilliant. It's funny but the staff here seem to each have their devoted customer fan base, and know the personal orders from their regulars off by heart. Love it. The café is amazing in its own right, but has an offshoot business Eire Pies - which according to their website was a challenge brought by a customer to Stephen to make more savoury pies for his menu. Eire pies are now sold at Foodland supermarkets , Tony and Marks at Gelnunga and Brickworks as well as in the café itself; and have amazing flavours such as braised lamb and rosemary, duck curry, beef and potato and vegan chickpea and lentil. On top of this achievement, Eiri café also produce a wide range of delicious biscuits, cakes and patries, and do an amazing brunch ( 7:30am - 2:30pm on weekedays and 8:30-2:30pm on weekends). I have popped in a few times on the way to work and was impressed; but this Saturday we stopped for breakfast/brunch on the way to running some errands. I had the pancakes with banana, maple syrup and mascarpone and I added bacon to it because bacon and maple syrup just belong together. My partner had cornbread with spicy tomato salsa, grilled haloumi, poached eggs and she also added bacon. My pancakes were light fluffy and delicious, but quite filling. The bacon was cooked well and the whole meal made me very happy, with big generous slices of banana and a pot of maple syrup on the side). My partner's corn bread meal though, was the stand out. I'm definitely getting that next time. I have never tried cornbread like Eire's before. It was light and fluffy and I think it was deep fried, but not oily. Perfect. I'll be back, for pies, for breakfast and for coffee. Cheers guys.

But, if you love a great brekkie, brunch or lunch, check them out! Actually, you should go out of your way to check them out. My partner insisted that I give this café a go. He had tried some of their pastries before and loved them! In fact, this café sells their pies to Foodland Supermarkets. I have seen them in the Norwood one if you are interested. So, they are obviously doing a great job. The café has a good amount of space in it for a few groups of people. There is cute little collection of vintage items on tables and a pretty vertical garden inside. Eclectic in style. As for my brekkie, I had to order the corn fritters. I am so glad that I did, they were amazing! I have never had fritters like these before. They were deep fried, crispy and so super fluffy inside. They were topped with some tasty fried haloumi, greens and served with some fresh tangy salsa and cream. I was in the mood for some bacon as well, so I ordered that as an extra. I was so full afterwards though. I have to say, this is one of the best breakfasts I have had in a while. It really impressed me. Lot's of skill and love was put into this dish. I look forward to stop there again when I am in the neighbourhood.

The lady operating the shop was incredibly friendly, and took good care of us, delivering our much-needed coffees and food to our table with a warm smile. The hot dog with the lot is unbeatable; by far one of the best hot dogs in town. It's so big and packed with fillings that you have to cut it in half just to be able to eat it. There is also a big range of homemade sweets. It's run by a friendly Italian couple, and the shops fits so perfectly around them. Since it was lunchtime, I decided upon the teriyaki chicken roll, figuring I couldn't go too wrong for $4.50. I was presented with the Italian version of a Vietnamese Roll - freshly cooked teriyaki chicken in a crispy fresh bun with cucumber, shredded carrot, homemade mayonnaise and plenty of coriander. Delicious! And great value for money. Other options are rolls with beef, onion and gravy, or a meatball roll, or steak sandwiches or croissants with lots of different fillings. They do all day breakfast alongside their rolls and hot food, as well as milkshakes, coffee and traditional iced-coffee. I'll definitely be going back there to try out more of that tasty home-cooked food.
