I promise you, i've NEVER tasted a better croissant in my life. I searched all of Paris when we landed, to find the same exact croissant. And even though this is at an airport in Barcelona, it's still the tastiest and fluffiest. There's a BROWN SUGAR GLAZE on top and bottom of this croissant and its FRESHHH AS EVAAAR!!! 1.50 pounds that could be possibly the best 1.50 pounds i've ever paid. You've gone through security and you're on the other side waiting for a flight...hungry, thirsty (of course they made you throw out your water bottle), and with nowhere to go. Such are the circumstances of the 21st century traveler. And, at BCN, what are your options? Well, Caffé Di Fiore is pretty much it. What you see is what you get...yogurt, bananas, sandwiches, croissants, and coffee are fine, if nothing special here. What is notable is the pricing which, by any standards, let alone Spanish ones, is extremely exorbitant. But I guess this is what airport food service is all about, cornering the market and operating at a mini-monopoly! Oh well, beyond the exorbitant pricing, everything else is fine. The service is quick, respectful, and multilingual (the woman who helped me, I noticed, spoke English, Catalan, and Spanish, if not more languages, too). The space belonging to the cafe is clean and bright, like most everything else in El Prat. Since, if you need something to drink or eat at the airport, this is most likely your spot, plan ahead and bring a few extra € for the extra-expensive bottle of drinking water! read more

Nice coffee shop which served a good range of hot and cold drinks along with some food. I did not sample the food but did sample the hot chocolate which was hot, always a bonus. Their is ample seating and again this coffee shop is located near to some of the gates. The seating area is standard but bright and clean, unlike some!! The staff were polite and coped well with the volume of people who came through at the same time as me. The food looked to be of the standard airport variety, cakes, some sandwiches and bits of fruit. Along with the various hot drinks, beers and wines on offer they had a good selection of fruit juices. read more

The name sounded appetizing (must be the Italian sound) but anything there was really good. Mostly mediocre food, and regular tasting coffee. I got a jamón and cheese baguette and that was not glued with some tomato or some olive oil or something that would make it a nice blend. Just pure baguette (hard) with the ingredients just put together with any style (even though they look nice on display). Not even the pastries looked good, and normally at the Barcelona airport they (used to be) are good. Expensive for what they offer. read more

We went to this place simply because we refused to pay ten euro for a burger-king meal. We do occasionally eat cheap rubbish because it's cheap and a change. Also there was a tapas bar that may have been worthwhile but there was a workplace dispute happening at it so we wouldn't cross a picket line. So this was the next place as we walked toward the boarding gate. This place, which has limited uncomfortable seating and no wifi, was as over busy as it was overpriced for practically tasteless food. We sat at a table full of leftovers from earlier diners. It took ten minutes for staff to clear this away. We had paninis; turkey and Brie at six euro each. Probably made for under fifty cents. It was clear from the many dozens of paninis in boxes under the counter that they were factory mass produced with a smear of margarine with eager thin turkey and cheese. The food had no taste until we hit the centre when we got an overwhelming taste of dried oregano which made a tasteless sandwich quite unpleasant. The panini bread is the sort that gets bread a bad name as it was undercooked and without flavour or texture. As I chewed it went into a ball which I didn't swallow. One plus were the latte and cappuccino coffees which was quite good and fairly priced. The staff were pleasant as they ripped us off. read more
