However it's said, an easy statement would be that it's quite tasty and for sure a good location to check out, which is what I did with my mother last week. Walking up and into Tatte might give you some retro NYC vibes, but the place actually originated outside of the Empire State. You'd never know because the white-tiled look definitely feels like something classy and Manhattan-originated. Luckily, the pricing isn't necessarily city level as Tatte has a large menu of baked goods, actual meal options, and coffee choices all at around what you'd probably expect to pay for a place like this. The setup when first ordering is a little chaotic if there are a lot of people figuring out what to get between menu viewing and the glass case of premade baked items, but once you do get your order going you can find a table and sit with your number while you wait for your goods. For me, I got my coffee right away as it was a cold brew that was able to be made there. Twas a special at the time, an orange blossom vanilla cold foam cold brew. Was it unique? For sure. Did it entirely land? Not sure. I did try a sip of my mother's caramel latte and that seemed pretty legit. What was also legit was the grub. We each ordered a halloumi sunny-side breakfast sandwich which was delicious (though a tad more halloumi would've been perfection). Close to perfection as well was the pistachio croissant we shared. I definitely see the level of quality coming through in a spot like this. Overall, Tatte has some solid aspects working for it with plenty to love. Coffee seemed quality, food was fantastic, and the setup was great, though the blasting 80s music, despite totally in my wheelhouse, might have thrown the vibes off a tad. Either way, Tatte has what you're looking for, though personally, Garden City is a little far for me to get to these days. If Tatte does ever expand out east, you know I'll be pronouncing that name very often.

The lady who I assume is the boss said she had held a pop-up shop about two years prior which blew up, hence what we see here. The selection here was deceptively small compared to chain bakeries, but it didn't take us long recognise how much power the smaller selection packs and, actually, how the selection really is not small at all. The matcha red bean loaf grabbed my attention straight away and didn't disappoint, but their red bean bun was just as impressive, as it's a more bread-y counterpart to the fluffy versions other bakeries typically have. The onioissant is definitely experimental and worked better on the chive bacon cream cheese one than on the pollack roe, which was a bit too much on the salty and fishy side for my liking. Their chocolate horn is at least twice as big as a typical one you'll find at other bakeries and has a rich dark chocolate filling which was a pleasant surprise. Their coffee brioche pastry was another hit, thanks to the strong coffee filling and delicate layers of pastry. There's ample tables and chairs, beverage menu, and I'm sure we'd come hang if we lived closer. I can't wait to go back.

They were unique but light and really refreshing. For the actual baked goods, I really liked the mousse and french toast, but wasn't a big fan of the oni-croissant. We felt it was too much bread and not enough filling, but that is simply our preferences. The aesthetics was very fast causal and they have different seatings throughout the cafe. It was pretty full but we got a seat pretty quickly.

So random to find a place like this in our relatively normie area - maybe we can even find other weirdos like ourselves who also feel at home in a place that celebrates spooky fun like WBCH does.

I came on a weekday evening after dinner with my friend and it was not busy. Upon walking in is a very cute floral wall and their sign you can take pictures in front of. You can even borrow a giant Labubu/zimomo to take pictures with! We ordered the Lychee Jasmine Yogurt Drink with Lychee Jelly, Sparkling Rose Lychee Drink, Original Tiramisu, and Lychee Tiramisu. You can adjust the ice and sugar level as well as choose from two sizes for the drinks. The two drinks are pretty good, but I would like to try their pistachio latte or milk teas next time! The original Tiramisu is good, but the lychee Tiramisu was a bit sweet for me and I couldn't really taste the lychee flavor as much. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming. She gave us good recommendations and was patient with us. The owner gave me and my friend a cake pop to try as it was a new item on the menu he said. I got the vanilla one and it was good. It wasn't too sweet as it didn't give me the bad throat feeling the Starbucks usually give me. I will definitely be back to try the matcha tiramisu and Earl grey tiramisu! The place is huge to hang out with friends or study. The only thing is there is no restroom available. But overall, very cute cafe!
