Tried Mi Amor Cafe for lunch. It is in the Freeman Center on Central. A little hard to find from the street ( we drove past it). I had the Miami Cuban. My daughter had the cheese and bacon croissant and espresso. My wife had the A Sandwich and a smothie. The decor is inviting and some what basic on cafe side. The smoothie side is warm and friendly with couches. Bring friends and hang out. One criticism is that the open kitchen needs a better vent system. It gets a little Smokey. The staff are very friendly and talkative. It was fun listening to their banter. The food is made to order. Not so much as made as crafted for your enjoyment. Because of that our orders came out one at a time. Nothing at the same time. And there is a wait. So once you get your food first thing is to try it. That way the taste will prove it was worth the wait and you will forget all about the wait. So each of the sandwiches was awesome but let's talk sides. Roasted cubed potatoes and Cuban black beans. It was almost a fluke finding Cafe Mi Amor. We stopped in for coffee and discovered the BEST Cuban restaurant I've been to outside of Miami, FL. We were in Hot Springs for 8 days and came to the Cafe 12 times for coffee and 6 times for food! I didn't post a review until today because I kept forgetting to take pictures. The service is great, although at times can be slow, BUT it is totally worth the wait. Everyone working here is so friendly and gracious for the business. The ambiance is just like the Cuban flair found in so many restaurants in Florida. Both versions of the waffles are absolutely top notch!! While in Hot Springs for a sports tournament, I stopped by this quickly little Cuban establishment. It is super close to Oaklawn, just directly off of Central Avenue, in a small shopping center. There are tables and chairs to sit and eat, or even super comfy couches to relax on a sip coffee. They also have fun games throughout, as well as coloring books, colored pencils, and even little musical instruments to play around with while you're visiting. The staff was super friendly and happy and the atmosphere was eclectic and uplifting. I got a Strawberry Tres Leches Latte and a Strawberry Cinnamon Roll, and both were outstanding. There was one issue with my order, due to miscommunication, but it was promptly fixed without hesitation. I certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in Hot Springs. I look forward to coming to visit again and trying more things on their menu! read more

Went in today for a dash order around 11:45, it smelled fire and they had a full house so i expected a little wait. I waited 20 MINUTES with a stale face before the ONLY SERVER asked if i had been helped, the cook and the server were almost arguing and the vibe got so tense that they( cook and server) started making rookie mistakes like handling trash and food with the same gloves. The older woman was the only one on point but she was limited with her motion. Point in case is the fact that after waiting they told me they couldn't make majority of the order so I had to cancel. Wonderful addition to Hot Springs! Probably the best cup of coffee I have ever had! It was the toasted coconut Cubano. Just the right amount of coconut flavor without being too sweet and the little bit of toasted coconut on top just added to the wonderful taste experience.
