The outdoor space is colorful and inviting. The price for a plate of food and a handmade coconut drink is $14. It's vegan and everyone was super friendly. It seems like this business is just getting started and I figuring out the regular hours and menu but keep checking in.

Amazing. Loved the food and the staff. The smoothies are so refreshing and flavorful. I had the pasta entree and it was filling and exciting. If you show up right and open and they are not quite ready, be understanding that they are making the food from scratch. I saw the chef come out to pick fresh herbs while I was waiting. It is worth it!!

Cute hidden vegan spot right where I live in Isla Verde. All vegan all good! Even the smoothie was top tier. I highly recommend this place.

Super adorable restaurant built into a home in a cute neighborhood right next to the beach. Came here on my last trip to PR a year ago and enjoyed our fresh smoothies made with their delectable homemade plant milks. This time I came to grab a quick lunch before heading to the airport. I remember the service last time being exceptional; this time the woman who took my order seemed almost annoyed that I was there (the place was otherwise empty). Maybe she was having a bad day? Anyway, I made myself comfy in the cutely decorated lounge area and waited for my food, which came quickly. I got the daily special which included a soup (which I actually enjoyed eating despite the 95 degree weather) and the lunch platter special. Unfortunately the special that day was just too sweet and cold for my liking (mostly plantains and I think mashed cassava with a side salad). I prefer spicy/umami flavors and hot foods so this palate and format wasn't my speed. However the meal was definitely fresh and made with love. I'll return on my next trip to try something new, hopefully something with a little more flavor (or at least hot sauce) next time!

This vegan spot is absolutely amazing! I was in Puerto Rico for a week and I went here twice. They have a different lunch special each day. You can tell that their meals are made with love and are super fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant to vegans and non-vegans.

They change aspects of their menu on a daily basis so I ended up trying two different lunch specials and their falafel burger.

The service was appreciated and the food came out in a timely matter. The prices were a little much, but one should expect that given the location. I went with the Cubano ($15?). It was a good size sandwich. It consisted of ham, pork, cheese, pickles, and yellow mustard. The bread was flaky and very enjoyable. For the rest of the sandwich, it was solid. I always enjoy a good Cuban sandwich. The fries that accompanied the sandwich was tasty too. I also tried their Puerto Rican pizza, which consisted of pork, and plantains I believe? To my surprise, it was pleasant. The slightly burnt crust was a little thin, but all of the toppings went well with one another. Will I go back? Probably because of the location.

An unexpected stop for lunch during a cruise stop in Old San Juan, PR, the Istanbul Restaurant was…read morea combination of Turkish dishes along with dishes native to Puerto Rico. My brother and I tried dishes from both menus, and found it to be quite good. As we were walking past, a small sign for 'Grandma's Kitchen' caught our eye. My brother had been encouraging me to try Puerto Rico's national dish: Mofongo - mashed fried plantains. Unfortunately, restaurants were just packed with long waits and I wasn't in the mood to wait outside in the sun for a long time. The door next to the sign stated that it was a restaurant called 'Istanbul'. We peaked inside, and was welcomed warmly by a host, who let us know that the restaurant was both Grandma's Kitchen/Istanbul. There was nobody else dining inside, which was weird considering how every other restaurant in the area was packed. The dishes are made to order, so took a bit of time for it to come out one at a time. Mixed Seafood Stuffed Mofongo ($25) - served in a wooden pilon, the tall and narrow neck was stuffed with the mashed plantains, topped with a seafood blend of clams, dense fish pieces, octopus, and squid. The sauce was really well done, not too rich, but buttery enough to accentuate the seafood. I have to believe the seafood was prepared from frozen, but it tasted really good: a definite notch up from the seafood I've been having on the cruise boats. It was the first time having mofongo, and I liked it. This version had fried plantain chips, mixed with the mash of more plantains. I don't think this version had pork skin rinds, and I didn't miss it. It's extremely dense, so ended up eating maybe a third of it while finishing the seafood. It's a solid alternative to rice, though definitely can't eat too much of it. Doner Kebab ($18) - from the Istanbul portion of the menu, this dish was tasty, though the meat was cooked on a flat top grill like a burger patty, instead of on a vertical rotisserie. The lamb/beef patty was loosely formed and well seasoned, with the accompanying tzatziki sauce being a good add-on. Both dishes were cooked very well, the back kitchen has some skills. Service was friendly throughout. Water is not offered, but guessing they will give to you if asked. Payment was provided after the meal, and they do stick on a mandatory 15% gratuity for all party sizes.

It's a great place to take a break during the day, grab lunch, and relax without leaving the resort. Service was good overall, though on the slower side, so I wouldn't recommend going if you're absolutely starving or in a rush. We tried a few different things during our stay. The cheese pizza was consistently very good--we actually ordered it multiple times for carry out and it was always solid. The Impossible burger was decent as well. The fruit bowl, however, was disappointing and not worth the $12. It was mostly filled with cantaloupe and watermelon, with just a few soggy strawberries, which felt overpriced for what it was. We only dined in once but did carry out a couple of times, and overall it worked well as a casual lunch option between beach and pool time. While not everything was a hit, the pizza and the setting definitely made it a convenient and enjoyable spot to return to.

Prices are inflated for the quality, but you're paying resort prices. What it lacks is good drinks. I'm sure the beer is great, but we ordered the guava colada, spicy margarita, and a colada lemonade and all three were misses. The rosé was acceptable with notes of strawberry. If you're on the beach and need a snack, I recommend the quinoa veggie bowl add chicken. Healthy, protein packed, and good texture mixed throughout with the fresh vegetables. There are also tvs at the bar if you're trying to keep up with a game.

We saw Kalizo , thought it looked upscale and promising, and chose it for what was supposed to be a special family night. Instead, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the service was disrespectful and careless. We were a party of six, and the host simply pointed to a section and told us to "sit over there" -- no greeting, no walk-through. He dropped the menus on the table and walked away. We sat for over 20 minutes with no one approaching us for drinks or orders. We had to stop multiple staff members just to ask, "Can we please get a waiter?" Each time we were told someone was coming, but no one did. When the waiter finally showed up, he acted rushed, uninterested, and dismissive. He kept telling us that several items we wanted were "not available," rushing us to pick something else. I ended up ordering something quick because I honestly didn't know if he'd ever come back. Meanwhile, there were only about three other tables occupied, and we noticed something very uncomfortable: The English-speaking white customers were getting A1 treatment -- constant refills, servers checking in on them, drinks delivered correctly, food synchronized -- everything. Our table, where we were mostly speaking Spanish with my partner's family, was basically ignored. Our drinks came out wrong. Refills took three or more requests. Food came out one plate at a time, so half the table was done eating before the rest of us even received our meals. My plate was missing the sides and sauces it came with. I had to physically get up and find someone to ask for them. At one point, after asking three times for a Sprite refill, I just stood up and went straight to someone and said, "Can you please just bring me a Sprite can, a to-go box, and the check?" because I had enough. The food itself? Not good. Definitely not worth the price. And the service? Terrible. A woman who worked there quietly apologized to us and said she saw everything happening, but she couldn't intervene because she wasn't a server. That says enough about the environment. Overall, it felt like we were treated differently simply because they assumed we were locals or because we were speaking Spanish. Meanwhile, the tables of English-speaking tourists got excellent service. What was supposed to be a nice family dinner turned into a frustrating, embarrassing, and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place, especially if you're expecting fair service or celebrating something special.

The drinks were $26 each, which is EXTREMELY overpriced for what it is. The drinks on the Las Vegas strip are $20-21.. we did a family style dinner with everyone at the table. The chef did send out some complimentary spinach cracker featured in one of the pictures. For appetizers we ordered calamari & pita bread that comes with 3 sauces which is hummus, taziki & a cucumber honey one. They were good. For dinner we ordered the 26oz steak (6/10) I believe, patatas bravas (4/10) carrots (7/10) and a pasta (4/10) I forgot what it was called. They offered us deserts and I told the server that we were there for my birthday and if they had a mini birthday desert and he basically said no if we don't purchase one. Which again, is pretty insane coming from fine dining restaurants in Las Vegas that do a little complimentary desert & we paid over $500 for dinner. Their system also went down when we asked for the check And he said we could pay cash if we wanted to leave so we sat there for an hour after dinner was over waiting for our bill. The aesthetic of this restaurant is beautiful, but it's not worth the price or food.
