The menu goes through changes on a regular basis so old favourites like the ten euro steak deal, lasagne and southern fried chicken have been replaced with more exotic options like falafel and seafood tagliatelle but you'll still find safe bets like burgers and meat and two veg on the updated menu. I've never had a bad meal here, but I couldn't rave about it either. It does the job to be sure, but it always feels a bit weird eating here as it's more of a late night venue with a young clientele, so as an "owl fogey" it's a spot I tend to avoid after a certain hour so I feel these negative connotations may have coloured my dining experiences slightly!

I ate here in a pinch after realizing my chosen restaurant was just a takeaway place, and I wanted…read moresomething better to see myself off from Ireland. So I at least accomplished that. The seafood chowder here is yet another variation - I only saw fish in there although the menu said shellfish, but there were large chunks of fresh and smoked fish. Since their posted specials (outside) are only available on weekends (thanks, sign - but at least they were honest about it before bringing me anything I had to pay for), I tried the posh fish & chips. It was pretty good - definitely not your usual fish & chips, and the portion was deceptively decent. The sauce was too light on flavour and portion to really work with the potatoes, which were perfectly crisped Irish golds by the way. The fish was crispy outside and had the hint of cured/salty-smoky on the inside, definitely a lighter smoke on the salmon than you might get in Canada or New York. I washed it down with something else you don't really see in the states, Smithwicks pale ale. (Unlike most Irish pubs, there were mostly lighter beers here, pales and lagers, with Guinness holding down the dark side alone.) Nothing to write home about, but at least I ended the day on a high note.

I've never had it with diced up hard-boiled eggs so that was a surprise. I really enjoyed the pesto spread on the side with the chicken breasts and wish there was more with it. Could've gone with less aioli or mayonnaise that they used for the hard-boiled eggs but was delicious. Chips came à la carte and was the perfect amount to go with the club. The mango iced tea had an odd texture to it, but wasn't gross or anything. I'd rather get an Arnold Palmer next time or try another fruit infused ice tea.

I went for the Spicy Louisiana which was basically just normal buffalo wings but they were nice nonetheless. The ribs were great too and cooked perfectly falling right off the bone. ‍I enjoyed the Mexican Burger, it was nicely flavored and juicy so that was a happy addition. Out of the two desserts, I have to say I enjoyed the apple crumble more. It wasn't anything special, but it was enjoyable and the custard paired nicely with it. The profiteroles were a no from me which was disappointing because I do love profiteroles. Appearance wise it was great though. The pornstar martinis were so tastyyy & refreshing, definitely recommend them. Would I go back here again? The service was very quick but annoyingly as soon as we finished our main course they brought us the bill with no offers of desert or teas/coffees. When we asked they said no that the kitchen was closed. This was a little irritating as we had not been there very long and they didn't tell us when we booked or ordered. I think if they take a booking for a table at 9PM then they need to keep the kitchen open to accommodate that. There was no apology it was just matter of fact. Don't think i'll be back
