Another of the small cafes that opened in the recent past. The best thing they do is the Workie's Fry - sausages, bacon, egg, potato bread, soda bread, and a cup of tea for £3.50. Well, it used to be the best thing they did. It used to be a nice "clean" fry (see Biddy Duffy's review), but it's hit-and-miss now, presumably depending on who's working. Recently they served up four Workie's Frys to myself and a few friends, and the cooking oil oozed from the soda bread every time you put a knife into it, as well as the sausages being slightly charred and crispy. It's strange, because they had it right for quite a while there.
Still, when they get it right, it's a bargain, and perfect on a Saturday morning after a night out - when they get it right. Apart from that, there's a decent-sized menu where you'll find plenty of food for under a fiver. The girls working there are all friendly and pleasant, and happy to help. read more
