Despite have a misleading and slightly off-putting title I can't get enough of this place. The city centre location is perfect for a quick lunch if you're out shopping or on your lunch break and there's always a good vibe in the place. I normally go for the hamburger which is a fresh and juicy as you could ever want. The service is great and there's a good selection of newspapers if you in on your own grabbing a quick coffee. The café is licensed and there are some chunky looking bottles of champers behind the counter but to date I haven't dabbled yet. Pros: Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Cons: Can be expensive.

This is a must for anyone looking for decent food and a relaxed atmosphere in Belfast's city centre. If you go before 9am on a weekday morning you can see all the business men and woman enjoying their quadruple espresso and chain smoking their cigarettes before their daily grind. I know this place well, because when I used to work in the city centre, I would probably go here 4 to 5 times a week. I would suggest if you go, go in the morning and enjoy their great cooked breakfast which is one of the best in the city. The service is great as well with the waitresses being very polite and cheery, which helped me no end on those dull Monday mornings before work. As well as all this, you can get a few alcoholic beverages if that's what you are after. Overall this is a lovely relaxing place that can give you respite from the hustle of the city.

We were over visiting family in Belfast for Christmas, but will definitely be back - specifically for these donuts!!

Whoever their graphic designer is, id hire him to...idk. Design my. Life. The donuts were the centre of attention - are my photo of the window display, which was eye catching and immediately had me salivating. They've managed well with COVID, but only one person in the store at a time (a wee cramped space honestly). Might be a long wait at a peak time. We had the place to ourselves however. Ok, donuts; we had A vanilla glazed - just a "control" for the taste science experiment. I have to say it was delicious and fresh, weighty and "doughy". A Boston Creme - the creme was SO GOOD. As a former donut baker, I was impressed with the minimally invasive "creme hole". Nothing was leaky, and the creme itself had a great consistency. The chocolate on top was dark, textured, and great accent visually and for the palate. A chocolate noh-tella: which for a vegan donut tasted surprisingly "unvegan". The donut was dense and full flavoured regardless of the filling; the filling was more viscous than Nutella and had generous sized nuts. A apple chai : yet to eat but apple filled, infused with chai. Looks delicious. Unlikely to be a gimmick. Donuts are so often gimmicks; a crappy donut with some bright colour slapped on it to give it appeal. But a real donut is good regardless of how dressed up it may be; and for that, the vanilla glazed takes the cake. Or yeast. Or dough. Do have a pop in. Looks like their coffee was pretty good as well, although didn't partake this time. The worker was kind and put up with my extensive donut chat, even my creme hole chat. Poor woman. Give it a shot!

Two of us popped in for a sit - in sandwich and a coffee. The coffee was ace good which is what I expect from this brand. I opted for a made - from - scratch egg & onion on Brennan's brown bread. The butter wasn't butter but margarine (muck) served with a smile from a friendly server who could have been from Australasia or South Africa. They didn't have cold water prawns - my favourite if it's a sandwich with butter only - with proper prawn cocktail sauce which must contain cognac. I also grabbed a bag of Tayto cheese & onion crisps. A little known fact: in 1954, the first flavoured crisps were invented by Joe "Spud" Murphy (owner of the Irish company Tayto) who developed a technique to add cheese and onion seasoning during production. The cafe was comfortable and clean. There was a tv but not much banter from the staff who talked mostly among themselves once you were served. They don't have WiFi either which I found very poor in a busy city centre place located not far from the courts and public sector services. I didn't pay, so I've no idea of their prices. So it's borderline 3 stars.

The best coffee shop in Belfast now has a new store. There are now three Arthur's Coffee Shops in…read morethe city centre and they are doing their usual £1 coffees before 11am, which even includes lattes and cappuccinos. This new store has lots of seating compared to the other two. Queues at present are relatively small compared to the other two cafes, but I think that's because nobody knows about it yet! Staff are brilliant, as is the norm with all Arthur's cafes. Quite frankly the best latte I've ever had in Belfast...maybe I shouldn't be giving the secret away ;-)

It's a pain to have to give a crappy review to a place that's always been a favourite. Arthur's has…read morealways delivered a decent lunch at a good price. After years of going in that has changed for the first time. As with everything these days the prices have crept up, especially in terms of the lunch specials. OK, that's to be expected these days. But there a 'meal deal' in there now for £12 or so! Not long ago that was a basic restaurant price, the specials are now around the £5 mark and gone is the awesome £3. I could live with that, but I got the club sandwich. It was tiny and bland.... With a club you expect the double layers... not in this case... just the 2 rounds of bread, and they were very poorly filled at that. I'll definitely be back... I won't give up on a stalwart like this after 1 bad experience... but with the hike in prices there needs to be an understanding there be a hike... and certainly not a drop, in delivery!

As eluded to Arthur's is in a really handy location beside Montgomery Street Car park and only a short dander from Victoria Square.s iWith loads of neighboring offices I suspect Arthur's is rammed in the morning and at lunch time but luckily for me I visited around 2:30pm and there were only a few other customers. As soon as I walked in I was asked 'what I would like?' and to be honest I hadn't even worked that out in my head yet so I just blurted out Americanno! I like the prompt sty;e of the staff in here - no messing about - gimmie your order! The coffee was great - very strong which is just what I needed before a meeting. I even got myself a wee pecan slice as there was a lonely one left in a basket just staring at me at the counter. So I had to, you know yourself! Anyway, it's a big old thumbs up from me for Arthur's and who knows it might even get that extra star when I sit in!
