Possibly the most unusual thing about Cafe Face is the name. Everything else is pretty much how you'd imagine an English Cafe to be - full English breakfasts big enough to induce a coronary for less than a fiver, bacon and egg sandwiches, cheap cups of tea and coffee, baked potatoes served with baked beans............the menu does stretch to more exotic items such as baguettes featuring odd vegetables like aubergines, but you get the feeling that most of the place's income comes from the standard stuff.
It's a plainly decorated, small scale operation that always seems to be fairly busy which does give the buisness a homely feel. If it's fancy accruements such as wi fi, arty wall hangings and stainless steel lightings you are after then you would be much better off looking elsewhere. However, if you're looking for a simple meal away from the madding student crowds that fill up Selly Oak's streets during term time then Cafe Face is probably your best bet as the prices are cheap and the food is perfectly edible.
