Great little café in a very unsuspecting location. I've been wanting to check this place out and finally did today with a friend. Very pleasant staff and plenty of variety on the menu for breakfast and lunch. The latte was excellent! You have your choice of some comfy chairs and a couch or a traditional tables. Also brought my nine week old and I felt very comfortable having her there. Wish it was a little closer, but I'm glad I now know that it's there and is a must to incorporate when I am in the area. read more

Update my review from five to four starts. The food is great! Everything is healthy and I have no guilty bringing kids here cause there are plenty of healthy options. The staff is friendly and it's a very clean dining area. But the atmosphere is eh. It's always cold... Like freezing. Everyone wears their coats when they eat. I don't eat in because of this. There is no dedicated cashier so it's a long wait because they make the drinks too. If your in a rush call and order ahead and get it to go. It's very quiet almost too quiet. Some background music would be nice.... And heat! read more

Not pleased at all the wait me and my friend had today. We waited for 30 mins for an order we called in to pick up. The woman that was working there said that someone would help us and they never did. I wasted my 30 minute lunch break Waiting. We ended up going to price chopper. Awful. Had lunch there Friday 12/9/16. Chips were stale and there was a hunk of plastic in my buffalo chicken wrap. People were friendly enough and the place looks OK, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than coffee, and that was nothing special either. read more

This place is my new favorite study spot, it's amazinggg. Tall tables, short tables, booths, couches, and meeting rooms. The young people that work there are actually so nice and helpful...refreshing. Oh, and the bathroom is actually clean. The grilled cheese and pink passion smoothie are delish. I've been a regular here for a couple of years. I spend the day at the NU cafe a few days a week to mix up my workflow. The cafe is plenty spacious, with couches, chairs, and a nice fireplace to sit by. They brew strong coffee and offer wifi/plenty of outlets. The owner & staff is also very friendly and helpful, I've never brought anybody here who wasn't happy with the experience. The food is good but it's what you'd expect from a small cafe. Driving through Gardner on Saturday morning, spotted this Nu Cafe and decided to stop by. I really like the Worcester one so figured this one would be similar. Sign said open at 8:00 am, parked and went in the side door, total ghost town. No staff no customers. Shouted for someone, rang the bell, waited for ten minutes, and a few other customers even showed up also confused as to why no one was there. After a few minutes I figured the manager must have decided not to open up today but forgot to lock the door last night. Needless to say I was disappointed. read more

Very disappointed. I was at cafe about a year ago and it was an ok place to relax with coffee. I stopped in today and walked out without ordering. display cases empty. This was at 1 pm. The place looked dingy and worn. The restroom was very dirty with a strong, offensive odor. That is when I and 2 friends decided to go elsewhere. Despite previous reviews I have been to this nu-cafe location numerous times and have enjoyed my experience. One of the managers who works here is superb. I usually come in when he is working and he does a great job at the counter. He is extremely helpful and super friendly. I have had a few different menu items and I enjoyed them all the food is very similar to panera. On today's visit I got a chicken ceasar salad and a medium iced latte for $10 and some change. This seems pretty reasonable since a Big Mac meal at mcdonalds is close to 8 dollars. The salad is a generous size and the latte is delicious. There is a lot of seating and free wifi as well. As a student this is a great spot to me I can get off campus get some food and study. I give nu-cafe five stars because I really enjoy the atmosphere and the employees who work here. I would rather go to a restaurant with friendly upbeat employees who are pleasant than employees who are rude! read more

Came in on Friday morning to get some work done as contractors were at my office. Only one person serving customers. Two people walked out due to the wait. It was freezing! Thermostat had heat off and showing a temp of 59°. I turned it on. Waited 15 minutes for a coffee and sat down to work. WiFi access not available. Clerk said they've been having issues with it but owner should be arriving in 15 minutes. Will not be back. I'm better off going to the library and stopping at Dunkins read more

The only reason one star is deserving is for the fact that the drinks were moderate. My boyfriend had been so excited for me to try this place, he had been raving about it for months. We finally went today, I stayed in the car because I looked awful and we had looked up the menu before hand of what we wanted there were 3 of us, my boyfriend, my bestfriend and I. He goes in, comes out 20 minutes later empty handed. Looking very aggravated. The girl working rudely said they don't go by the online menu, when my boyfriend asked if he could bring a menu out to me, she said no. He did anyways for my sake, and what a shocker most of what was online was on their actual menu. He went back in, another 20 minutes go by, he comes out empty handed again, and asks for the menu back, goes back in because the one drink we wanted that actually was on both menus she didn't know how to make. So he comes back to car with only 2 drinks instead of 3. The ONLY drink that was on both menus, and she didn't know how to make, and CHARGED my boyfriend for was the only one missing because all of the sudden, they didn't make it. We're all appalled by the service. I wasn't aware of how bad she was actually being because my boyfriend is a modest human being. This place probably would've been alright if it wasn't for such poor service. read more

I love the food at Nu Cafe, especially their paninis and smoothies. I used to go to the Worcester location when I was in college, when it was still called Jumpin' Juice & Java, and the food is just the same. My only qualm is the service. The staff members are very nice, but I think they are often overwhelmed. The place never seems to have the appropriate number of staff members, which leads to a long waiting time when ordering and getting food. And then I've had some things missing from my order and have had to come back in to get them. I think these problems could be easily solved if they had one or two more people working during lunch and dinner hours. read more
