I ordered a Thai tea boba and a churro sundae to go! They separated the churro Sunday, which was very helpful! It kept the churro bite crispy and the ice cream from melting on the drive home. The churros aren't made fresh to order, I could see the churros sitting out that were being used for each order, so our churro was the tiniest bit warm by the time we got our order. Menus need an update as well as their online website. They no longer offer other food just the desserts and the prices have changed. The churros are good and have lots of sugar on them but they have an oily aftertaste. I'm not sure what kind of oil they fry them in but they may want to consider changing it. It is a massive shareable size. (Eating the sundae as a meal is also an option.) The combination of crunch, creamy, cool and sweet is an Achilles heel for me. While I have tried a number of ice cream flavors, simple vanilla lets the flavors of the churros shine through best. While this location has more seating, friendlier staff and more ice cream choices, I like the churros from the Northern Ave. location better. Tasty Churros Today, I visited Churroholic Hiccups for the first time and I was pleaseantly surprised. The churros are crisp, sugary on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside. My nephew and I ordered the original churro to go and they were large, enough for two to share. As soon as you open the door you're hit with a terrible smell. As if they have rotted trash or sewege issues. Not sure what it was, but it was terrible and should be taken care of. Took about 5 minutes of us standing at the counter (with employee on the phone) until they took our order. There was another employee there that could have taken our order, but chose not to. This spot was pretty good. Came here with my daughter on Sunday unexpectedly. We were supposed to go to the place next door but they are closed (so sad). This location was pretty busy for only two people in the front but, we decided to give this place a shot. It's a cute little spot in a shopping center easily visible from the street if you're coming off the 101 ramp. So far, not bad. I only gave 4 stars because there are a couple of things that they could have improved on. First, it took quite a while before they took our order. There was a couple in front of me that placed their order and the pleasant young person at the point of sale stated she'd be with me in a few moments. I didn't expect her to take as long as she did going back and forth with orders and running to the back for other things. The other person in the front was prepping some ice cream orders and said that they'd be with me in a minute. She came to the register and asked if we were ready to order....then walked away after I said yes. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they were a little busy but, don't ask if a customer is ready to order and then walk away to finish something. Finish what you're doing first...then ask if the customer is ready so there are no weird interruptions like that. Now...for the good stuff. I ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee and a iced macchiato. Both were delicious and made wonderfully. I'm not too much of a coffee person but, there was no bitterness, it wasn't overly sweet. The drinks were fantastic. I'd gladly go back and visit again.
