I stumbled upon Charlie's and had a delicious breakfast. So I went back there again to try more of their menu. I'm so glad I did because they have many dishes that will satisfy someone with similar tastes as I do. The serrated steak knives were so dull and bent, you couldn't even cut a tender steak if you got one. If you can't even give your customers a decent knife, don't complain when they send back a steak. I give the manager credit for apologizing and doing what she could but Expats beware. If you're craving a good steak, save your $ and go to Wolfgang's. I understand that things are different here in the PI. I'm amazed that there is so much variety among restaurants. But it is not the fault of the locals when the restaurant company gives them cheap tools and products just to cut costs! Bad cooking is something else, though. A horrible experience at a Mesa restaurant actually made my wife go back in the kitchen and show the chef in training how to make adobo! Overall, I love the PI and the local cuisine. I think I'll stick to the chain restaurants that I know for certain are consistent.

Meat was well-seasoned, very tender, and easy to remove from the bones. The sauce tasted great. You also get to pick 2 sides to go along with it-- I recommend the corn on the cob and java rice, or the mac & cheese. The Pasta Sardina is also a good choice if you want a flavorful but not too-heavy-on-the-sauce pasta dish. They have this one inventive dessert, the "Antipolo Crepe," which has the local Antipolo delicacies of mangoes, cashew, and "suman." It's funny but pretty cool that they made a regional dessert like that and it wasn't bad at all! On the sides were two dishes of chopped cheddar and chopped ham! I explained to the waitress how a Denny's ham n cheese omelette was made. She took it back. They then cooked fresh eggs, layered in the chopped ham, then cheese. Melted just right, folded it, placed it on a clean plate, and served it to me. Delicious.
