The coffee shop itself had a very minimal, yet welcoming atmosphere. A lot of locals came in and out, which is always a good sign. There is free WiFi. I'd highly recommend checking out this place if you'd like a cup of coffee away from all the tourists in other parts of the city.

I got a pumpkin spice latte with almond milk- tasted like one of those bottles strips you get with the addition of some pumpkin purée- wasn't bad but wasn't great. The milk wasn't vary hot either- it was barely warm at best. My brother got the gingerbread latte and it tasted really good though- still only just warm. Let me clarify and state the fact that the website, the shop doors and even Yelp states that Coffee Room's hours today are 9 AM. I walked in at 9 AM and greeted the lady behind the counter. She was rude, did not smile and gave me the attitude and a responses of what seemed liked, "What do you think you are doing, you idiot?" I didn't understand what she was saying and told her in Czech that I speak the language poorly. So she proceeded to tell me that, "We are closed. We open at 9:30.". I mentioned that the door said 9 AM and she basically was like I don't care, leave. This is truly unfortunate. Not only did you loose my business and future business (I spend lots of time at coffee shops), but during the time that I was waiting and after I left, you lost four other customers who tried to go in and were turned out. I think the business owners need to realize how their employees are lacking in basic customer service skills. Plus, this really isn't a time to be turning away business. You know, basic economic practices, but who knows. Maybe you can afford to lose business during these hectic and unknown times.

At first glance, the waiters looked well presented, but with a bit more observation, the illusion faded. Some had sagging pants, untucked shirts, and most concerning, repeatedly inappropriate hand placement while on the floor. It happened more than once, which was uncomfortable and distracting (see photo). Overall, the place feels very pretentious without delivering on substance. The food wasn't anything special, and the desserts were average at best and certainly not worth the hype or the attitude. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Imperial to friends, especially if you're expecting a warm welcome or standout desserts.
