We're from Seattle and appreciate excellent coffee and have started our search for a good local coffee shop to frequent during our stay in Georgia. I had high hopes for Cafe Blue based on the reviews I saw. However when we got there we discovered it's a little more niche than we anticipated: I'm trying to not be overly critical, but as a former barista from the pacific northwest who has also worked on a Hawaiian coffee farm, I was pretty baffled. I would describe it as unsure of if it wants to be a coffee shop or a tasting room and ends up kind of being lost in translation. They apparently use very expensive beans, but they also use disposable cups and there's no cupping options that I saw, but a 10 oz french press costs $10 and the rest of the drinks are equally spendy. The prices on the menu in the yelp photos are no longer accurate. A serious coffee shop in the pnw serves drip, espresso based, pour overs, french press, tea and tea lattes etc, aka a full menu of coffee.. People scoff at drip, but it's a sign that a place understands coffee. This shop had no drip or pour over options and the menu seemed very disjointed. They did however have very instagrammable expensive drinks. Overall it feels like a coffee shop trying to be bougie and catering to bougie people. While there is nothing wrong with that in and of itself (bougie people have to get their overpriced drinks somewhere), it is not the cute local coffee shop it appeared to be, unfortunately. I'm not leaving this review to slam them--I hate that--but rather to save other truly coffee-oriented people the time of going only to be disappointed like we were. I gave three stars for atmosphere--very nice--as well as the friendliness of the servers and for a very tasty macaron and decent cookie, the only thing we ended up leaving with once we realized the coffee was not really for coffee people. It's a small place and VERY loud when the blenders kick on, but the coffee was delicious, the servers were nice, and the prices were reasonable. It's not particularly cozy, so I wouldn't see myself holing up there with a sketchbook or work, but to meet up with a friend to catch up over a coffee, I would come back for sure. It's just too bad that all that they have out front is a strip mall sidewalk because an outdoor bistro table or bench would be a nice place to also sit. read more

I am so so happy that this cafe is near me. My favorite latte is the pumpkin spice latte but I also really like the Vietnamese shakerato. The staff is super friendly and I just love studying at this cafe. I love the vibes here and definitely will come here often! read more

Decided to finally come here after seeing a bunch of people post on their Instagram stories. The atmosphere of the cafe speaks for itself in the pictures. This location is smaller and more intimate than most coffee shops in the area, but it still felt very comfortable. I ordered the Black Sesame Latte and fell in love. I went back two days later to order the same drink just because I was craving it! I absolutely love the coffee here and cannot wait to try everything else on the menu! read more

Just stopped here after getting a coffee craving and searching for coffee near where I was driving. I was very happy with my order. I'm very finicky about coffee and generally avoid coffee from anywhere but my own kitchen. It's always a good sign when a coffee place offers French Press. I watched my coffee being made, and I was so appreciative of the care in which Leo offered in preparing it- from allowing a small amount of water to seep through the ground prior to filling the French press, to the use of kettle-heated water, to the time taken to prior to pressing the coffee, to even the care applied to putting the lid on and ensuring it was tight. I was thrilled to get a steaming hot cup of coffee. The majority of coffee places offer you lukewarm coffee that cools even more with creamer. And the coffee was strong and flavorful! Super cute little cafe by the mall! Ive tried the iced oat milk latte, the pour over, and the matcha latte with oat milk- all of which were super good. The staff is really nice and I'd definitely recommend this place. They also have fun speciality drinks if that's your thing. read more

This place has a nice environment and mediocre coffee. The issue is the price. Good Lord. I got the French Press - expecting the press filled with coffee as I have gotten at other coffee shops. This expectation created from a price of $10+ bucks. What I got instead was a 6oz cup of coffee. For $10? Really? And then you want a tip on top of that? I like my coffee and I don't mind paying pour over prices for a good cup of coffee, but it wasn't even that good. It was just okay. read more

Went in for the first time and I probably wouldn't come back to the Buford location. It was very tiny inside and felt a bit uncomfortable. If you are coming to just get a drink and go I would recommend, but definitely not to sit inside. I got the blue latte and it was pretty good. I also felt that the person taking my order seemed annoyed that I didn't immediately know what I wanted. I definitely would love to try out their location in Duluth and see if it's a better experience read more

worst experience I've ever had . Charged almost $17 for two mochas. Asked for two iced chocolate lattes. A latte, as you should know is two espresso shots with milk. I was given glorified chocolate milk... no espresso. When I went in confused as two why it was chocolate milk she said that a chocolate LATTE doesn't come with espresso. I am a barista, I know what a latte should taste like... this wasn't a latte. Instead of remaking my drink, she handed me two double shots of espresso for me to pour it in. $17 later and I can confidently say it was the worst experience I've ever had. read more
