Many different colours, different types of furniture from different eras and paintings all mixed (and not matched) throughout the room. When I got visitors I usually take them here to grab some breakfast. We have tried the breakfast buffé and were not huge fans, but they have a menu where you can choose between a couple of sandwiches and some salads. It can be really crowded at times which makes it hard to find a place to sit and it also makes the noise level very high. They do have a back area where the breakfast buffé is served with some extra (not as cozy) tables, but this is also the childrens area, so the sound level is, as you probably can imagine, not much lower here. ;) It can be crowded not only where you sit down to enjoy your food, but also when you stand in line to order. And since they don't take orders at the table this often results in a long queue squeezed in between the front window and the cashiers desk. Not only is it a tight fit when trying to get your order through but escaping that queue in the other direction can be a nightmare which makes it all a bit stressful. On top of that, the prices are quite high. I mean, they do have quality products, but for the hassle mentioned above it does take away from the overall experience as well. All in all, it is a place where I bring guests once to check out the nice interior and enjoy a good sandwich and some coffee out of old granny style cups. If you want to go somewhere to work / chill out there are better places.

It's a bit expensive compared to other places, but it's worth it. The have amazing cakes! Try going there for a brunch on Sundays but remember to book a table in advance - and not just three days before. This year they won the award for the best gløgg (similar to gluhwein) and it's good and it hits you hard! Don't plan on going home by car afterwards.

Tl;dr : Egg, bacon on brioche bun! What's not to like??? Lot of egg variations in a sandwich. Loved…read moretheir silky scrambled egg and caramelized onions. Arcade game to flex those gaming muscles as you wait for your order. Comic covered wallpaper and a hip decor. A hidden gem on it's way to put it's mark on Copenhagen's culinary scene. How I got here: It was the day of city marathon and the usual way that I took to city was blocked. Google asked me to go via an alternate route. As I was walking to the bus stop, lo and behold! I come across sign for Yolkie. A picture of their signature egg sandwich with bacon! This place reminded me a lot of Egg Slut in LA so I bookmarked it and decided to go there the next day. The next day sure enough, I was there at 9am and guess what I got their happy hour offer (9am to 11am) free OJ/ coffee with sandwich! This day was turning out to be better than I expected. Ambience: This place gives off a very hip vibe. As you enter, you're greeted by an arcade machine. This thing works, has tons of game and is a cool way to pass time as you wait for your order. Lot's of plants and green adorn the wall and also the restroom area. The backside of the restaurant has a wall with a perfectly done sunny side up egg mural on the wall! Instagram alert! Back walls are covered with Marvel (& DC??) comics pages as wall paper. I absolutely loved the decor and couldn't wait to get on with my order. Food: Over the 3 times that I've been there I've tried the Bacon, Egg and Cheese, Scramble & Crispy Chicken. Scramble: The scramble came with creamy scrambled egg, beautifully caramelized onions, sriracha mayo on a warmed up Brioche bun! (Why don't other places warm their bun?? It's a tiny thing but makes a big difference) The ingredients come together to make a very delicious and soul-filling burger. Even thinking about me is make my mouth water like Pavlov's dog! If you want to kick things up a notch, you can add bacon to it like I did (10/10 would recommend) Crispy chicken burger: The pieces of crispy chicken were huge. Crispy brown on the outside and tender on the inside. This made for a heavy breakfast (like the kings they say!) If you get in between 9-11am you get coffee or OJ free with your sandwich. OJ was nice and tangy. Great way to kick start the day. I spoke to one of the guys behind the counter and as we were the only ones there we had a played a game of street fighter. Close match but he whooped my a$$ in the end! lol The are near the restroom has plants and pop culture memorabilia. Star Wars poster and the whole 9 yard. This place is on my list of must check out places in Copenhagen and I'd definitely visit whenever I'm back.

My only comment is that I would have liked the burger to have been cooked at medium rare. The fried are thinly cut and surprisingly the highlight of my meal! Definitely a place to stop by for all things topped with an egg!
