No big deal! i went to the front and ordered, and was then provided with a delicious salmon benedict, latte, sweetbread and delicious fresh-squeezed orange juice. All in all, the food was fabulous, but the service and feeling as I was being tolerated, not welcomed served soured my trip to this cafe. I'm unlikely to return, but i'm sure you'd be welcomed if you fit a certain aesthetic!

It does take a while for the food to come out but that's because everything is made fresh on the spot you can actually see the ladies preparing the food. I ordered chicken empanadas they were delicious made with hand made tortillas, my son had pancakes and he said they were the best he had during our vaca. They were made just perfectly fluffy & light golden brown. Reason why I rated this place 4 star is because they do not have an a/c unit only ceiling fans :( so it was really hot at around 9 am other than that this is a must come. This will probably be the only place I'll be eating from next time I'm in Playa Del Carmen :)

It's similar to the other location (La Ceiba de la 30) although it's not crowded and there is plenty of easy parking. My Spanish is not too great, although there was always a cafe employee who spoke English if I needed to fall back on that. To find the cafe, enter the park gate at the corner of Calle 1 Sur and 60 Avenida Sur. Walk about 50 feet on the path to the left and you will see a sign that says Cafeteria. I went three times: for breakfast, lunch and a snack. If I was staying longer in the area I definitely would have gone back again. I loved the fresh tropical fruit salad bowl, (ensalada frutas) served with the option of honey or yogurt, and it was only 50 pesos. Their ice-cold fruit smoothies were only 25 pesos! And their agua del dia was fun, a new combination to try every day for about 15 pesos. For instance, one day it was watermelon and lime, another day hibiscus. The kitchen is open 9 am to 4 pm, except Mondays when they are closed.
