Cafe- bistro located in new development behind the Four Points Sheraton and Levis congres centre. I've previously had a rather negative opinion of Van Hotte coffee. I rather thought it to be middle of the road and somewhat uninspiring. Here however it was a dandy clever surprise. I was here at 7AM for my morning Java jolt and a light breakfast. The cafe was quiet, well designed and very comfortable with many nooks and crannies and spots you could find yourself getting lost in a book or that office email overflowing red list!
My order was a capucinno and a breakfast sandwich. Cap was nice strength, slightly bitter but good portion of froth. It came out as a nice hot temperature. Breakfast sandwich was fresh, light filling enough for a grown man and delicious. Overall a fine breakfast to get the day going.
The only design flaw I'd declare is when you walk in it feels you are at the bulk food store with big displays of single serve keurig pods which somewhat gives a negative feng shui to the place. The rest of the cafe lounge is so nice but the massive display of pods on both sides doesn't suit the design of the place. I'm no interior or Industrial designer but it cheapens the feel of what otherwise is a fantastic cozy relaxing environment. Otherwise good stuff! read more
