After every game of badminton, my top priority involves finding a restaurant that serves good and affordable meals with huge servings of rice. The sport requires so much effort and usually leaves me famished. A friend from The Zone badminton court tipped me about a good Spanish restaurant in the newly opened Alphaland Makati Place and it does offer affordable paellas and other Spanish meals.
One afternoon, after playing badminton, I walked from the court to the nearby mall only to find that the restaurant he's referring to was fully booked. So, I decided to go to another place that I thought would serve food quickly. My feet brought me to Café 85° (or Café 85 Degrees) at the ground floor. This food outlet looks like a small canteen that serves mostly sandwiches, salads, soups, and pasta. I didn't see any rice meal on offer, but I could be wrong. I was in a hurry to order so I just asked the staff to give me a bottled water and their bestseller. He suggested the Grilled Chicken Sandwich.
I didn't know if it was because of my hunger, but I really enjoyed the big panini that I ordered. The chicken was so flavorful, I caught myself licking my fingers. I was actually surprised that just one sandwich was enough to fill me up. For me, the price of their food is a bit on the expensive side (average of about PHP 150.00 for a sandwich) but I'm looking forward to trying out other items in their menu. read more
