My mom said Dr. Lo was the rudest doctor she has ever met and is only interested in seeing as many patients as possible and pushing $1000 hearing aid products. For most doctors, you have to wait a long time to be seen. But for this one, you were rushed in and out the door in a blink of an eye! OK, maybe an exaggeration. My mom got tested by an assistant in a small enclosed booth, the size of a phone booth (if you've ever seen one of those!). Then she saw the doctor for 5 mins! The doctor asked my mom to say "ah" and looked in her mouth. Then she declared my mom was deaf and pushed the hearing aids she was selling. She said everyone over the age of 60 is deaf. My mom didn't get to speak much. Since my mom refused to buy the hearing aid after a 4-min investigation, she was hurried out. My mom didn't realize that one of her neighbours has also see Dr. Lo had had the same experience. OHIP pays doctors by the number of patients they see. The general rule is 15 mins per patient but OHIP doesn't care if you see three times more patients per day than normal. The doctor's clinic is in the Niagara Health Centre. I went to see her for the first time a year ago and she was amazing. She explained without being condescending. She has a wonderful bedside manner. She calls with test results herself. And she personally calls at times you wouldn't expect to hear from a doctor, to answer questions I asked about. She gives honest and good advice and makes suggestions for what the primary can do and what she can do. The best possible referral I can give about her... I absolutely panicked at the thought she might retire!! Where would I go and how could I possibly find another doctor like her? So if you're looking for an ENT I strongly suggest making an appointment with Dr Robin Miller.

I went to Dr. Chmiel's practice on the recommendation of a co-worker. I went for throat pain I'd…read morehad for a year. I had had a sonogram and nothing was found. I went to Dr. Chmiel and within 15 min I had my diagnosis. Using a scope up my nose and down my throat which took 5 min in office, he showed me the video of the scoping. He showed me my septal bone spur, which caused pus to drip from my sinus down my throat, which caused my throat pain. Dr. Chmiel never pushed surgery. He advised I think about it. I said I wanted the surgery. So off to a CT scan so he could see my sinuses. Good thing I did because he found more things- enlarged adenoids and a polyp in one of my sinus cavities. I said I still wanted surgery and managed to get a date in two weeks. Dr. Chmiel removed my septal bone spur ( that's what's in the photo), removed my adenoids, and roto rooted out the polyp. I had no pain, no visible swelling. The follow ups were the day after, then one week. I found Dr. Chmiel attentive, answered all of my questions, and had a good sense of humor. If you need a septal bone spur chiseled out, Dr. Chmiel's your guy!!! The staff was great too!

I accompanied a patient to his office the other day and was amazed at how thorough Dr. Wade was. He took his time and explained everything in clear, layman's terms and was quite animated in his delivery. He is extremely personable and has a wonderful 'bedside manner', so-to-speak. It's no surprise that this doctor has so many successes in his life. We did not have to wait long past our appointment time, perhaps only 10 to 15 minutes. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Dr. Wade has retired…read more A tremendous doctor. Felt like I was visiting a country doctor 50 years ago because of the amount of time and attention given to my issues. And he explained everything so well. Clearly dr. Wade is part of that rare breed of doctor today who cares deeply for his patients.

Waste of time. I have had issues with plugged and popping ears and a drippy nose, my PCP suggested…read morean ENT because she could only see so far in my ears and nose with her scope, and she couldn't see anything concerning. I went to Paul Young, didn't see him, which is fine, but the NP that I saw didn't do anything my PCP didn't do and immediately suggested a nasal ablation and went on a sales pitch about how Dr. Young does them in the office. Felt like they "sell" that to everyone. She also couldn't see anything concerning- so why suggest this procedure? And for the plugged ears, she suggested I get a hearing test but they don't perform them. What kind of ENT can't do a hearing test in the office? Long story short- useless and total waste of time and money. Just got a $350.00 bill, after insurance for literally nothing.

Update - I left this office, permanently. I was going to come back but after asking that they send…read moremy records to a different physician and then visiting that new physician: I will never go back. The new physician, at my very first visit, said: 'I got your records from Dr Young's office, as well as the notes about your anxiety." I don't have anxiety. The awful surgery center that he uses kept me in a room for nearly NINE HOURS waiting to be taken back for surgery; I asked a nurse ONE TIME when I'll be taken back and she ran and told the anesthesiologist's helper that I was 'anxious' and they offered to give me pre-anesthesia to 'calm me down.' No, I was not anxious, I was super thirsty and MAD because I have not had any food or drink since midnight and it was nearly 5pm (so for15 hours). My nose is the same now as it was pre-surgery. I'm still congested, I still have post-nasal drip, and my sleep still sucks because I'm coughing from the throat irritation of the snot dripping down my throat. I've asked them to test me for other things (Covid, etc.) that might suggest why I was still feeling that way; apparently wanting to breathe without choking on snot makes a person 'anxious.' I guess that the PAs / Ear Doctor are also psychologists, and are able to diagnose 'anxiety' without a degree in human psychology. Interesting. No wonder my Primary Doc, at my 'make sure this person is healthy before surgery' checkup looked down at the doctor's name and said: 'Just be careful, some doctors think they're god and will judge you for everything."
